Well, we are now a couple of weeks into the New Year. And if you’re anything like me, you have high hopes and goals for starting the new year as a healthier version of yourself! I will say, this year I’m starting off pretty dang healthy, and I’m pretty proud of myself for it. Usually at this point I’m toting around quite a few extra pounds, feeling uncomfortable in my clothes, and just feeling generally blah.
But last September Chris and I decided to make a change. We started eating healthier (focusing on lean proteins, fruits, and veggies), and we started walking several miles each day. I also started intermittent fasting which I feel has made a huge difference for me personally being able to maintain my weight. It only took about 4 weeks for us to really start seeing a noticeable difference in both how we looked and how we felt, and once we started seeing results, it was easy to stick to our plan.
Now, during the holidays we weren’t walking nearly as often and we were definitely a bit more lax with what we were eating, but we are actually quite excited to get back to the plan. Even with indulgences during the holidays, we aren’t that far off track, so it shouldn’t be that hard to get back with the program.
Our goal is just to move our bodies and make healthy choices (most of the time)! We aren’t running, we aren’t going to the gym, but we are making walking a priority. And while I know that I can obviously walk in anything, let’s be honest… cute athletic gear is motivating. Am I right?
Walmart has some really great athletic wear choices as well as tons of other items that can help all of us who are on a GET FIT journey! The collage at the bottom of today’s post will highlight some equipment you might be interested in as well as some other outfit options.
Okay, y’all. Outfit #1 is super cute, and the fleece jacket and the leggings are BOTH ON SALE! Actually, tons of items in today’s post are NOW ON SALE!
And they aren’t just good deals….
The prices are actually insane.
Let’s first talk about the colorblock leggings. They are from a new (to me at least) brand at Walmart called Love and Sports. Their winter drop is vibrant and bold (as evidenced by the leggings). And let me tell ya, the leggings are actually subtle compared to other pieces in the line. 😉
Originally $28 and worth every penny, right now they are ONLY $17! They have a high-rise fit, moisture wicking technology, and side pockets that are the perfect place for your phone. And the colors are so much fun! I love them. At 5’4″, they are longer on me than I would like, so I have to turn them under and fold them over – but that’s great news for you taller ladies! For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
Also from Love and Sports, the gym bag is fun, funky, and and functional. It looks like a shiny puffer jacket. There’s a removable cross body strap, but the handles are a great length to fit comfortably over my shoulder as well.
This fleece zip up is ON SALE for ONLY $13! WHAT THE HECK! It’s not Love and Sports, but I thought it paired nicely with the leggings.
It’s really lightweight, but it’s actually super warm and cozy. It’s got the stand-up collar I love, a semi-cropped fit (but not too short at all), and an elasticized hem and cuffs. It’s awesome. AND I’M SORRY, BUT $13 IS CRAZY.
It also comes in winter white, brown, and black. I love it so much that I think I’m going to need to grab the matching fleece joggers. I didn’t know they had them until I was linking this post, and they would obviously make such a cute and cozy set. They are on sale for $13 as well.
The long sleeve tee comes in a 2-pack and there are several different color combos to choose from. They are simple crewnecks that are fitted, but not tight. They are great on their own and perfect for layering. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
I’m ready for the gym, for dog-walking, or for neighborhood errands.
Here’s the exact same outfit, I just switched out the blush zip-up fleece with this dark purple fleece hoodie.
And it’s on sale too!
Regularly $31, this hoodie is ONLY $23 right now! It also comes in winter white, vintage pink, and black. It’s slightly cropped, really warm, and washes like a dream. It’s great with leggings, but it looks great with jeans as well. I forgot to grab a picture of the back, so head over to the site to see the logo right above the banded hem. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
And again, I didn’t see these when I was initially shopping for the post, but if you prefer joggers to leggings you can find a matching pair of joggers here!
But seriously. How cute are these leggings.
And if you really want to go super bold, this chevron puffer is for you. Regularly $54, right now it’s ONLY $35. The varying shades of pink (from blush to dark plum) are awesome and I love the design. I would say it’s a fitted jacket, so you might consider sizing up. I’m wearing a small, but I need a medium.
One more thing! It has thumbholes! #andiloveajacketwiththumbholes
I know not everybody loves going super bold, so I wanted to give some other options for those that prefer something more basic.
For these next several outfits I switched out the colorblock leggings for a simple black pair, and I’m wearing the black long sleeve tee from the 2-pack.
And look how darling the red crossbody bag is with the outfit. The bag is sporty and just the right size for holding all your essentials like your phone, keys, and wallet. It also comes in plum and black.
And y’all! This faux sherpa is ON SALE too! Regularly $35, it’s only $23 right now! The contrasting zippers and overlays on the sleeves make it sporty and edgy. It also comes with a matching headband, and although the headband isn’t really my style, it might be yours! It also comes in black and plum. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
I love the whole look.
And for all of you all black lovers out there, here’s a black-on-black-on-black outfit for ya!
The site describes this zip up jacket as a fleece, but I think of it as more in between a jersey tee and a light sweatshirt. It has a wide band hem that’s fitted when the jacket is zipped up. It’s super soft and very lightweight. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
The sneakers are a great color combo of navy, lilac, and orange. They’re Reebok, and they are just under $30. Super lightweight and comfy, they are true to size for me.
The all black is great, but I like the pop of color given by the bag and the sneakers.
I can’t hardly even believe the luck, but this sherpa jacket is ON SALE too! It’s the warmest jacket I’m highlighting today and is oh so cozy. Regularly $40, right now it’s ONLY $29. I’m wearing the “goblin blue”, but it also comes in black, cobalt, red, cream, and grape wine.
For size reference, I’m wearing a medium and there’s plenty of room for layers underneath.
To be very honest, I’m not in love with the leggings. They have great reviews and I love the high waist, thick waistband, and pockets….but they are quite a bit too long for me. If 5’6″ or over, I think you’ll love them!
For these next 3 outfits, I’m wearing 3 of the jackets I first showed you with the colorblock leggings, but now I’m showing them with the plain black leggings. I just wanted you to see the versatility!
I still cannot believe this light fleece is on sale for $13!
And this puffer is almost $20 off! If it’s too much for you with the colorblock leggings, maybe you would consider pulling it off with the black leggings.
And this fleece hoodie is just $21!
And it’s not just athletic wear you can find at Walmart, you can click HERE for EVERYTHING fitness, healthy living, and wellness. Below you will find a handful of items that can aid all of us in our quest to be healthier! I already have #2, #3, #5, and I just ordered #7 and it arrived yesterday! My old crock pot had started losing some of its Teflon coating, so I’m excited to break this baby out and cook some healthy recipes in it! And that little wire contraption you see sticking up in the back actually holds the top when you take it off! Genius!
1) air walk trainer / 2) Fitbit / 3) wrist and ankle weights / 4) Beats buds / 5) nutibullet / 6) Smartbell adjustable weights / 7) slow cooker / 8) yoga mat / 9) sneakers / 10) half-zip performance top / 11) cropped lightweight jacket / 12) cropped logo sweatshirt / 13) cropped puffer jacket
