OLD NAVY EXCITEMENT
I had a reader (shout out, Alex!) that e-mailed me earlier this week and told me that I had to try these shorts from Old Navy, so I ordered them. #alextoldmeto They arrive later today and I’m PUMPED!
When I went to grab them, I also threw 2 pairs of flip flops into my cart and the additional pair of denim shorts with the bandana material peeking out. I feel like the bottom shorts and flip flops are screaming to be worn on Memorial Day and July 4th. UPDATE: Hold up…AFTER I ordered the shorts and AFTER I made the below collage, I realized that the bandana shorts are a 2 1/2″ inseam. Dangit, I’m afraid they are going to be too short! Oh well, I’m still super excited for the other shorts!
If you didn’t see my bra blog post on Monday, you for sure need to check it out! I’m absolutely IN LOVE with the bras and the feedback is starting to pour in from y’all.
Y’all seem to all love the bras as much as I do, and it just thrills me!
Here are just a couple of reader comments…
*** I have purchased SO many wire free bras since going through a lumpectomy and lymph node removal….have not liked a single one! So I was skeptical when I purchased the above bra. I received it a couple days ago and I am in love! It’s soft, it actually supports (I haven’t worn just a plain t-shirt in years because no wire free bra would support my 34DD), and it doesn’t make my arm go numb. So glad I took a risk on it…and thank you! – Kris
*** Thanks for the great recommendation. I just got mine (love Amazon’s fast delivery). What a great bra for easing back into the office after working from home for over a year and wearing a sports bra every day! – Kim
*** With serious skepticism, I bought a bra from Monday’s post. Bras without underwire never work on me, no matter how hard I try. Needless to say I didn’t have high hopes. I got it the next day, I tried it on, I haven’t taken it off yet, and I ordered 3 more in different colors. I’m so grateful that you introduced me to this bra! – Laura
*** I’ve been wearing this brand for several years now. They are the only bras I will buy. Love them! – @lwilking
*** Only bra I’ve worn for 3 years – the best! -alison.sanders.1
*** SHEAFFER! This bra is next level. I love the Natori bras you’ve talked about for years and think those are comfortable, but these are in a different hemisphere. I’m like you, now it’s the only bra I’m wearing. Once again, I’m glad you told me to. – Amanda
Here are the two bras I highlighted:
On Monday, I posted this outfit in my bra post. Since the post was sponsored by Warner’s, I didn’t link the outfit, but MY WORD I got lots of questions about the outfit…specifically the shorts and the bag.
It is a great little summer outfit.
We’ll get to the bag and the shorts in a minute, but I also received a handful of t-shirt questions, which surprised me because I’ve worn this t-shirt no less that 100x on the blog. It just goes to show that there are new eyes all the time, and sometimes people need to see something tons of times before they are interested. This is the whisper cotton tee I have in probably 8 colors and have worn for years. I wear a medium.
And pay attention to the Wire-Free Bra in this pic… No lines…No bulges…just perfectly rounded cups and a perfectly smooth tee!
These drawstring shorts are FABULOUS. I love them and they have absolutely fantastic reviews. They come in 10 colors, and they really are the perfect shorts to just slip on and immediately look put together all summer long.
I’m wearing a small. These are the “warm clementine”.
This beaded crochet tote bag is so unique! It’s hand crocheted and the colorful wooden beads are so much fun.
The sandals are the ones I got last year, and even though I looked for a new pair this year, I couldn’t find any that I liked better than these! They are true to size, comfy, and go with just about any outfit.
Here’s the mirror selfie for those that prefer these shots.
I put this on ig stories and facebook last night when I found it, but my luggage is on SUPER SALE on Amazon!
Click HERE for it. I have the 28″, it’s huge, it’s so lightweight, and I absolutely love it. Amazon is notorious for ending sales quickly, so get it while the gettin’ is good!
HUGE GIBSON SALE
Y’ALL. THIS SALE IS PRETTY FLIPPING EPIC
I’m about to post pieces from Cassie’s latest collection. I love them all, they are all on sale, and today they are all an additional 20% OFF! Use the code LOOKATYOU20!
CHAMBRAY BUTTON UP
Let’s kick things off with this chambray roll tab top.
Listen… EVERYBODY needs a chambray button up, and this is a great one. It’s a total spring CLASSIC and it just feels awesome on. I often have trouble getting button ups to fit me right, but this one has an incredible fit. The buttons don’t pull on me (yay!) and the arms are kind of fitted, which keeps it looking totally sharp. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium, which is true to size for me in button up shirts.
I’ve paired it here with my favorite denim shorts. I’ve owned these shorts for 3 years now, and they’re still going strong. They’ve got some stretch in them and I just love the style. I own them in both a 27 and a 28. I’m wearing the size 27 here, but I actually prefer the fit of the size 28. The 28s give me a bit more length and a bit more room, which I appreciate. (I still can’t find my 28s, which is why I’m wearing the 27s here.)
And although I generally lean towards cognac sandals and a cognac bag, I love the bag and sandals here in black! You seriously need to scoop up these black sandals TODAY. They are ONLY $18.90, and they are awesome. Totally unassuming when I pulled them out of the box, but I LOVED them when I put them on. I think they have a high end look to them once they are on your feet, and they are VERY comfortable! True to size for me.
And I of course love the chambray with white denim. It’s a match made in heaven. Click HERE if you want to see 10 different outfits styled with the white denim and get my full review of the jeans (with sizing recommendations). I showed a chambray shirt on that post too, but now that I’ve had on both, I think the one on today’s post is more “springy” and “summery”. It’s a bit lighter (both in color and material), which is great for the warmer months.
Here’s the chambray shirt , styled 2 ways! Cassie also styles it with both the tiered maxi skirt, the green and blue cropped pants, and the high waisted shorts all from the collection.
WHITE BUTTON UP
I haven’t had a great white button up shirt in my closet in YEARS, so I’m thrilled to have this one now! TALK ABOUT A CLASSIC! Thank you, Cassie!
I like doing a 1/2 tuck with these shirts, but I also love the sassy little tie. All of today’s button ups are cut at a good length to make them easy to style both ways (both with a 1/2 tuck and a tie). Again, for size reference I’m in a medium.
And I absolutely love the shirt here with my new straight leg jeans.
For those that are looking for an alternative to a skinny jean, but don’t want to go full on mom jeans or baggy boyfriend jeans, these are a fantastic option. They are straight leg, they are cropped, they are distressed (without being destroyed), and they are just different enough to make me feel super stylish!!! For size reference, I’m wearing my regular size 27. They do have some stretch in them, but they aren’t quite as stretchy as my Wit and Wisdom jeans.
And here’s the white button up, styled 3 ways. So versatile!
PINK GINGHAM BUTTON UP
This top is DARLING.
Love the color. Love the pattern. Love the roll tab sleeves (you can wear the sleeves full length or roll them up). Love the popped collar.
Love it all.
It’s made of a crisp poplin and has a bit of stretch.
For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
And I’m sorry, BUT HOW AMAZING IS THIS STRAP.
And how fabulous is it paired with this top? #REALLYFABULOUS
Pairing this top with white denim was a total no brainer. Again, if you want a full review of these jeans, go HERE.
Here’s the pink gingham button up, styled 3 different ways! You can see that it’s cute both with a 1/2 tuck and with it tied in front.
It’s the medallions for me. And the colors are gorgeous! Oh, and it has an elastic waistband in the back which is awesome. Very comfy.
WIDE LEG PANTS
Well, these wide leg pants are all sorts of fun, soft, and flowy. Out of everything in the collection, I think this print is my favorite. Dress them down with sandals, or dress them up with wedges! They’ve got an elastic waistband in the back too.
I actually really wanted to try the matching set in this since I love the pattern so much, but the flutter sleeve blouse just didn’t fit me right. Click HERE to see it on Cassie, because it’s adorable. For size reference, I’m wearing a small in the pants. I’m wearing a medium in the white tee and a small in the denim jacket.
This romper is one of the softest things I’ve ever slipped on my body. It’s buttery soft, y’all.
Now listen, the top of this romper is really great with some ruffle and cut in details. Problem is, my arms aren’t summer ready yet. Luckily, Cassie’s are, so you can see the details on her HERE. But don’t worry, even with arms that aren’t quite ready, my trusty denim jacket makes it all good.
For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
It’s awesome in black too. And check out the black sandals again. They really are SO GOOD, and they come in cognac, gold, and white as well.
OUTFITS FROM BRACELET POST
On Wednesday’s post, I launched the Victoria Emerson x Sheaffer Told Me To line of summer bracelets. I wanted the post to be all about the bracelets, so I didn’t link my outfits on that post. But I got quite a few outfit questions, so today you get the outfit links again (even though I’ve shown them before in mirror selfies)!
This embroidered blouse is absolutely dreamy. The embroidery work, the colors, and the floral pattern are all gorgeous. And the sleeves! LOOK AT THE SLEEVES! They reach almost to my elbow (I really love the longer length) and they have gathered and ruffled details that are just so pretty. It’s got a boho vibe and I totally dig it. For the shoot, I wore my itty bitty boot cut jeans and loved how they looked together. I’ll also be wearing this top with denim shorts, white jeans, and regular denim. Also…just fyi…it looks like it’s realllllllly low cut, but it’s not! I can wear it without a cami and not show any cleavage.
This outfit is made up of a lot of great basics, but only the white jeans and the jewelry are still available. I happen to be obsessed with the white jeans. They are the best white jeans I have EVER owned. True to size, super comfy, and incredibly flattering.
This cherry cardigan doesn’t have great reviews online, but I happen to love it. I think it’s a really pretty red, I think the cherries are adorable, and I love the fit. If you have a really long torso it will be probably be too short for you, but I will never have that problem. I have a medium.
These straight leg cropped jeans are one of my favorite finds over the last couple of months. They are a great way to kind of ease into a new and more modern cut of jeans. I wear my regular size 27. They have a bit of stretch in them and are quite comfy.
This tropical blouse was sold out when I initially ran the links to all of the other outfits, so I actually never ran this one. However, I had lots of questions on this blouse on ig on Tuesday, and a reader found it at another retailer! I’d never even thought to look for it at Boden direct. #bloggerfail
These colors! This pattern! It’s 100% cotton, super lightweight, and GORGEOUS. There’s absolutely no give in the fabric, so I needed to size up to an 8.
THERE AREN’T MANY SIZES LEFT, BUT THIS TOP IS NOW ON SUPER SALE (which is good since it’s also super expensive)
I knew I wanted a really special top to highlight the turquoise bracelet in the collection, and when I found this embroidered blouse online, I knew it was the one. I threw it in my cart immediately, I got it, I tried it on, I fell in love, and then I realized how much I paid for it. Oops! I had been buying lots of different pieces to prepare for the shoot, and it seems I wasn’t paying attention to the price tags. Well, once I tried it on, there was no going back. It’s the most expensive shirt I’ve ever purchased (and probably ever will), but gosh I love it. Click HERE to see me in it with white jeans. For size reference, I wear a medium because there’s not much give in the chest and I need the room.
Speaking of Wednesday’s bracelet post, y’all absolutely blew me away in the very best way possible. Everybody was so excited for me and supportive of me, and I was just so grateful for all of the love! It was such a sweet day. In addition to all of my family and friends…I also felt so loved and supported by all of my friends in the blogging world too. I’m wearing the same outfit in all of the following pictures, I’m just changing out the bracelets and giving you a good close up shot so you can really see the detail on the bracelets. I also wanted to tell you the reason behind each of the bracelet names.
Scout was the much beloved Golden Retriever we had when we first got married. He was our first baby, so he had to have a bracelet named after him.
Charlie is one of our current Golden’s, and his middle name is Hudson. Yes, we give our dog’s middle names.
We also give our dog’s nicknames, and Buddy’s nickname is Boudreaux.
Tindall is my maiden name, so this crystal beauty got my maiden name.
Since all of our dogs got a bracelet named after them, I thought Carter deserved a bracelet too. Jackson is his middle name.
That’s it for today, y’all! A huge thanks to all of you for being part of my BEST WEEK EVER. Have a wonderful weekend with your people!
