FAVORITE #2: My Workout Gear
So it’s been about 2 1/2 months now that I’ve been on my Get Healthy journey.
It hasn’t been easy, but it’s paid off big time!
I don’t feel like I’m going to puncture a lung when I fasten my bra or rupture my spleen when I button my pants.
I call that a win. 🙂

And I know it might sound weird, but I truly believe that my workout gear has played a role in motivating me. When I worked out before this year, I would work out in sofie shorts and old college t-shirts. Not the most flattering.
However, this year I invested in some really cute (and functional) work out gear! You can see my original post HERE where I highlighted several items that I tried out.
Well, now that I’ve been working out for almost 2 1/2 months now, I can now say with confidence that my favorite pants BY FAR are the Zella Live In leggings.
I was wearing THESE all winter long, but I’ve now moved on to the Zella live in capris.
You know, so I don’t pass out from a heat stroke.

I love the bright colors of the ones on the left…but I know from experience that the tiny little wavy lines on the other two pairs are extremely flattering. My favorite pair of long live in leggings I have are black with multi-color tiny lines, and I swear they make me look way skinnier than I am. It’s like the little wavy lines are magic.

They are UGGs (so they are totally comfortable), they have a good heel height , and are true to size, kind of. I’m normally a 6 or a 6 1/2, and the 6s were perfect in these.

I absolutely loved the look of this wedge, but alas, the heel was too high for me and I felt like I was going to twist an ankle.
And here’s something to know about me, I don’t risk bodily injury for fashion.

I have a confession….sometimes, like just now when I ordered the 'Mallory' Flip Flop, I say "Damn it SHEAFFER!" as I am placing my order! 😉 I say it with love in my heart, though, so I feel like we are still good. <3 Also, First Easter Pic – ADORABLE! My husband even complimented me recently saying that I looked so styled and I explained that it was your blog helping me put things together. Some of my favorite Anthro things I bought through your blog weren't even available in the stores in Charlotte! I have to say that I really miss your Bachelor updates! My husband and I are huge Bachelor fans and we would laugh at loud at how your comments mirrored ours during the show! I was such a camp Carly fan and I felt she didn't get the love she deserved on the reunion show. Anyway, I just love some of the things you have suggested…the Kut demin jacket, the accessories, the ensembles and color comobs. Wanted to tell you that I just got some great zella stuff at the rack marked down and I love it! I have been a big fan of the Stella & Dot but you helped me see some other ways to wear it, also already loved the wit and wisdom jeans. You rocked the blogger pics! Sheaffer, I know this might be an odd question, but this is an issue I've been struggling with for a while regarding workout gear. Since most workout pants are tight in the "rear" area, I know the smart thing to do is to wear a thong to avoid panty lines. However, I HATE thongs and cannot wear them. I have tried so many different kinds and have tried "getting used to them" at the advice from my friends, but it's not happening. Because of this, I was wondering if you have any suggestions regarding other, more comfortable type of undergarments. I'm hoping you have some advice for me because you have truly become my clothes expert! I love that you are really a personal shopper for so many! Keep those great posts coming. Oh, and Carter is the cutest thing ever. What a doll! Happy Easter to you and your family!

up until last year I was an anti-thong girl as well. Whenever Sheaffer mentioned those Hanky Panky's I thought, super cute, but still a thong. When they were 40% off after Christmas, I bought one pair each of the low rise and original rise to test out; one is neon orange and the other is hot pink and black. While I prefer the original, the low rise sits, just, well, a little lower and is equally comfy! You don't have to 'get used' to these like other thongs. I now have 11 pairs in rotation. I would never pay the $20 retail, but when they go on sale, I nab at least one pair, the brighter, the better! On the lookout for neon turquoise next. 🙂

Hi Sheaffer! I love and started following your blog while I was home last fall after having a hysterectomy…i spent my recovery (AND MAD MONEY) buying LOTS of your Nordstrom favorites…when I went back to school (i teach fifth grade), all of my teacher friends commented on all my new things and wanted to know where I got them…i told them that i have this fabulous personal stylist "friend" and just smiled :o) Thanks to you my winter wardrobe was much cuter than normal!!! I too, have all of the colored earrings mentioned above for spring…LOVE THEM!!! The thing about you is I would have never thought that you had ANY weight to lose…you look perfect in your clothes, but kudos to you for getting to your healthiest self! I wish I had started with you on Jan. 17th, but I have been dragging around since then saying, NEXT WEEK, but last week, I FINALLY got my act together. I am doing a ketogenic plan (VERY LOW CARB) to jump start because I have to get 10 fast to believe 20 plus is possible because I have been SUPER LAZY about getting going before summer. I love all of your salad posts, especially the dressings which I will be getting TODAY! One thing I have loved and thought I'd mention to you is making shredded chicken taco boats (very low carb and yummy)…i take a rotisserie chicken and shred just the white meat and then use a regular packet of taco seasoning to cook the chicken the same way that I would ground beef. I scoop the chicken, cheese, sour cream, and a little guacamole into a romaine leaf of lettuce and roll it up like a burrito and voila~ LOW CARB AND VERY YUMMY! Thanks for all of your fantastic posts…your sweet boy is SO precious…I am a momma of one (a girl) and dressing her has been such fun, but now that she's nine and wants to go to Justice (NO) like some of her friends, I am in distress because we have always worn Matilda Jane, etc. I would love to see the damage you would do with little girl shopping on your blog since you have such a great eye for what looks good…maybe that can be a new "assignment"…HA! I stopped reading when I got to those Reef flip flops and ordered them. I love Reef flip flops and need something like those so they must be mine. Then I come back to finish reading and realized I should've waited because holy awesomeness at the shoes!!! Two babies left my feet are 1-1.5 sizes larger than they used to be so I am rebuilding my shoe wardrobe. My old shoes are crying as I slowly move them to new homes. Happy early Birthday!!!
