Happy Monday, Ladies!
I hope everybody had a wonderful weekend with their people, I know I sure did! I’m still getting super kind comments from y’all about the new blog design, and I appreciate them so much. I truly love it, and I’m so happy you are all finding it to be so user friendly and easy to navigate.
Now let’s talk about today’s post!
This post changed direction several times, and I didn’t finalize it until Friday. Sometimes I know what a post is going to look like several weeks before it goes live, and sometimes it’s much more last minute. Today’s post was totally last minute, but after receiving a facebook comment on Friday morning asking for a bag recommendation, a post was born! I actually receive requests pretty frequently for bag recommendations, and although the needs for everybody are different, most of you don’t want to spend a lot on your bags. So….today I have 5 great bags to highlight that are all super affordable.
FIVE GREAT BAGS UNDER $60
The bags I’m featuring today are all under $60, and they will all add some great style to your outfits! They are different colors, different sizes, and various styles…BUT THEY ARE ALL FABULOUS.
THE BASKET WEAVE TOTE (also comes in black)
You saw the black version of this basket weave tote last week on my Getting Ready for Spring collage. I ordered it in white on a total whim, and I love it so much. The chunky basket weave is a totally modern take on a classic tote shape, and it’s a nod to the designer Bottega pieces with the woven designs.
I thought it was so cute paired with this sweater. It’s super cute, and it’s from Amazon! It’s a heavy knit with drop shoulders and although it’s not super soft, it’s also not at all itchy. And it’s definitely cute enough to keep even though I can’t scream about how soft it is.
For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
And once again, remember to use the code SHEAFFER20 for 20% OFF the earrings and the necklace. It expires soon, so don’t miss out on the savings. I absolutely ADORE these statement hoops .
I’m carrying this white tote now, it’s going to be perfect for Spring, and it’s actually going to be a great year round tote! I love this creamy white, but it also comes in black.
This cardigan is 100% cotton, a great mid weight, and although it can definitely be worn open I actually love it buttoned up. The tortoise buttons are large and add a lot of style.
For size reference, I’m wearing a medium so it wouldn’t be too cropped on me.
THE LEOPARD TOTE
How cute is this bag!
The leopard is printed on canvas, and the trim and handles are faux leather. The bottom is faux leather too with studs.
Sadly, the stock is low at Nordstrom (there’s only 12 available, which is why I’m not showing it with more outfits), but you can find the same bag trimmed in black HERE.
And again, don’t forget the code SHEAFFER20 will get you 20% OFF the jewelry!
THE CROSS BODY BAG (comes in tons of colors)
Requests for cross body bags are frequent. I mean, we all love to be hands free!
I found this one, and although it’s previously been featured on the blog, I definitely wanted to include it in today’s round up.
The vegan leather bag comes in 6 colors, but I always love a great cognac bag (this one is officially called “tan”). The whipstitching on the perimeter of the bag and the cross body strap lend a little bit of a Western chic vibe to the bag, and I totally dig it.
I also really love my new soft and cozy cowl neck top. I’m wearing the “mauve”, although I would describe it as more of a rust. It looks great with jeans, but I think I’m going to love it paired with joggers too. I’m wearing a small.
When I showed you the bag the first time, I didn’t mention that you can remove the strap and really kick things up a notch with more stylish straps.
Do you remember back in September when I highlighted lots of fabulous bag strap choices? Well, great news…they work for this bag! So, if you already have one or more of the straps, this bag would be awesome for you!
There’s definitely something for everyone. And if you use the code BUILDABAG, you can get the stripe strap options for $18 (reg. $30)!
This one is the “burgandy” option.
This one is the “blue” option.
You aren’t going to believe the strap choices.
They are sturdy, very well made, and they are all adjustable from 29″-45″. They are a full 2″ wide and made out of a substantial nylon weave with vegan leather tabs at the bottom. All of the hardware is gold.
I cannot believe that the code (BUILDABAG) makes them ONLY $18.
The camo version is a bit more expensive, but I sure do love it. And it looks great paired with this bag!
Here are the camo strap choices. Remember these cost just a little bit more because of the metallic thread on the black and the grommet detail on the green option. Both have a more substantial clip as well. They are regularly $38, but the code BUILDABAG will get you the camo straps for just $22.80 a piece. Such a great deal!
You’d seen this bag two times on the blog already, so here’s a walk down memory lane.
This sweater isn’t cashmere, but it sure is soft. It’s a bit fancier than the basic cashmere I’ve been wearing. It has a subtle rolled neck, and the detail is really lovely. I’m wearing a small, and I would normally wear a medium in a sweater like this, so I would suggest sizing down. It also comes in a very soft blue and soft yellow.
And you can really see the whipstitch detailing on this shot!
THE COGNAC TOTE
You’ve seen this tote on the blog for over a year now (probably at least 25 times!), so it definitely needed a spot on today’s post.
It’s reversible (cognac or black), comes in 3 different color combos, and it holds my 15″ laptop. This bag is great for travel, but it would also make a wonderful and super affordable work bag, or just an everyday bag.
And a bandana tied on the handle adds just the perfect amount of flare! I don’t have a new picture with this tote, but I’ve grabbed lots of previously seen outfit pictures to show you the versatility of this 1 bag.
boucle cardigan / white tee / sunglasses / hoop earrings / arrowstack necklace / gold multiband bracelet / similar turquoise bracelet / itty bitty boot cut jeans (plus size jeans) / cognac tote / bandana / wedge booties
It can be worn casually with a sweatshirt.
Or it can be dressed up with leopard and wedges!
I always love pairing it with black.
It’s just a really great inexpensive bag.
BLUSH CLUTCH (also comes in black)
Y’all know I love a great clutch. This one comes in black too, but I was immediately drawn to this pretty blush. I love that it has a snap closure and two zippered pockets. It’s totally chic, a great year round piece, and the leopard lining is a total bonus. I really love it when bags are lined with a great fabric!
This drape knit jacket comes in 7 colors and has EXCELLENT reviews! It’s a comfy cotton “blazer” with a relaxed fit and it drapes beautifully. It’s 100% cotton, lightweight, and flattering. I’m wearing a small. The arms are a bit long on me, but when I saw it styled on the Nordstrom site, I realized they look great scrunched up!
And for the last time, a quick little reminder that the code SHEAFFER20 will get you 20% OFF the rose quartz faceted earrings, the dainty pendant necklace, and the multi strand necklace . The multi strand necklace is FABULOUS, so get ready, because you are going to be seeing it often!
The only thing I switched out here is the top.
And can we all just go ahead and agree that this necklace is seriously awesome. BECAUSE IT IS.
The makers of today’s bags always have affordable bag options available, so I’ve linked them below in case you want even more options!
