SPRING SWEATERS AND GREAT JEANS

This outfit highlights one of the outfit formulas I like to follow for Spring!  A lightweight sweater, jeans, and wedges (or flat sandals or converse) all styled together make an outfit weather and seasonally appropriate.

This striped boat neck sweater gives off serious nautical vibes, and I love it.  It’s very wide, very slouchy, and very oversized.  However, it’s not too thick, so I like to do a slouchy front tuck with it for a really relaxed look.  For size reference, I’m wearing a medium here, but I’m going to be exchanging for the small.  There’s just too much fabric, and I’m confident the small was still be plenty oversized.

These are Democracy jeans from Amazon, and I have confirmed that they are definitely part of the Wit and Wisdom brand (from somebody that works from the brand).  They too have the Ab Solution technology that we all know and love, and y’all are going to be obsessed with these jeans too.  And how convenient is it going to be that you can order them off of Amazon!

This one link has 12 different colors of jeans.  I’m wearing the “distressed blue”, but there are lighter and darker washes, white jeans, khaki, olive, and non distressed versions.  I’m wearing my regular size 4.

So the above jeans jeans are Democracy, but the below jeans are Wit and Wisdom. Y’all know I’m always wearing the dark wash itty bitty boot cut jeans, so I couldn’t resist this light wash version for Spring and Summer.

I’m wearing my regular size 4, but size down if between sizes.  Democracy also has boot cut versions, so you can check out Amazon for boot cut too!

Y’all.  I was not prepared to love this sweater as much as I do, but my goodness I do.  It comes in 3 different color block patterns, and I love all three.

It’s a lightweight sweater that I will wear now (great for layering), but I will also most definitely be wearing it well into Spring.

It’s not long, but it’s definitely not cropped either.  The white band on the bottom makes it perfect for wearing out and not doing a half tuck.  It hits at a good place on the hips to wear it like this.  It’s very soft, very comfy, and quite flattering.  I’m wearing a medium.

WORK WEAR

Recently I’ve received lots and lots of requests to highlight Amazon clothes that are appropriate for the office. I need to get better about ordering business casual items to try out (and I WILL do better), but I am SUPER EXCITED about this pick today.

This ruffle placket blouse is fabulous.  I’m wearing the “blush tossed floral”, and there are 3 other patterns to choose from and 3 other solids. I loved this blush floral pattern pattern the most.  The pattern is a little playful, and the ruffle placket is so so pretty.  I love leaving it open a bit up top for a really feminine look that is still appropriately modest for a work environment.  For size reference, I’m wearing a 6 in the top (which is true to size for me in a top like this).  If you get the pants (THEY ARE MY FAVORITE EVER!!!), make sure you size down 1 size.  Some even size down 2!

BLACK DRESSES

This dress is one that could totally fill y’alls request for work wear, but if styled a certain way, it could also be a classic little black dress.  It could totally be feminine and flirty worn out for a night on the town!

I love the longer sleeve length and the flouncy ruffle at the bottom of the sleeve and the large ruffle on the hem.  The fit is great!  It skims the body without hugging it, which is just the way I like it!  There is a seam down the middle of the dress (that you can see better on the online pictures), but it doesn’t bother me at all.  I just wanted to make sure you were aware of it.

And get this, it’s UNDER $30!  And even though it’s so inexpensive, I think it’s very well made.

For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.  If I didn’t need the room in the chest, a small would probably be fine..

This dress looks a lot better on the model than it does on me, but I still wanted to show it because I think it could be great for many of you.

There are 13 total colorways (some solids, some patterns) and the dress ranges from $19-$35 depending on which color you choose.  I would prefer a longer sleeve, and I think the top would look better on someone with a bit smaller of a chest.  However, even though it’s not for me, it’s an incredible value.

And don’t forget this long sleeve wrap dress (with FANTASTIC reviews) that is beautifully made and rings in at at anywhere from $18-$42 depending on your color.  It comes in several colors, including a great leopard!

The material is sturdy, it doesn’t wrinkle, and it’s not see thru.  It reminds me very much of the famous DVF wrap dresses that are extremely popular, but much more expensive.  This is a great staple to have in your closet.

With the black, I do not see panty lines, but I’m not sure if that would be the same case with lighter color dresses.

If you have a larger chest, you will probably want to add a snap to make sure it stays closed properly.  This is a true wrap dress, and I think a snap would help guard against any wardrobe malfunctions.

SPRING SWEATERS

You’ve seen these next two sweaters before (just earlier this week), but I’m styling them differently today!

This one is soft, bright, happy, and UNDER $30! I’m wearing a small here, but I like the oversized fit on the model, so I would suggest sizing up.   And I love the navy, but it also comes in black, red, and grey.

This sweater is a great Spring and Summer sweater.  It’s very lightweight, and although I’m not wearing a cami in this picture, it definitely needs a cami.  It has a perfectly slouchy and relaxed fit, comes in several colors, and will also be great with white denim jeans and denim shorts.  AND IT’S JUST UNDER $20!  WOW!

COLD WEATHER SWEATER

If it’s still really cold where you are, and you are still buying really warm things, then this sweater might be for you!  It’s very unique and unlike anything else I have in my closet right now.  It’s heavy and warm and I love the texture, the design, and the colors.  I’m wearing a small.

Based upon the number of e-mails and comments I’ve received from y’all, lots of you are heading to warmer climates for Spring Break!  Because of that, I’ve got some swimsuits, some cover ups, and some travel outfit ideas for you today!

SPRING BREAK, BABY

COVER UPS

This next item is actually billed as a summer shift dress, but I would wear it as a cover up.  Actually, if I was on a beach vacation, I would definitely throw some sandals on with it and head to lunch, dinner, the spa, etc.  But if at home, I would only wear it to the pool.

I’m wearing a small, but I actually think I would be more comfortable with a little extra room in a medium.

And because of all of you Spring Breakers, I want to share some items I’ve shared in the past that were super popular with y’all (and all perfect for Spring break trips)!

This tie die maxi is funky, fun, and super casual.  I’m wearing a small, and it comes in lots of additional color options!  It’s under $30.  (FYI  – the picture on the right is after I got a spray tan, but before I showered, which is why it looks incredibly aggressive.  Hahaha!)

This caftan is GORGEOUS.  STUNNING.  A total show stopper. It’s the “navy blue”, but you really need to check out all of the incredible options on this one link.  They are all so different!

It’s not see-through, so it could definitely be worn as a dress if you wished.

Look at the embroidery detail not just on the flower design, but on the sleeves and down the sides!  SO PRETTY!

And do you remember when I ordered some swimsuits last year? I actually ordered 3 and loved them all, but they were all too big. I ordered mediums in all of them because I ALWAYS size up in swimsuits, but I returned all of them for smalls, and the smalls worked!

Here’s a fun beach combo!  I love the black and white stripes with the ruffle on the suit, and the kimono is adorable.

OTHER GREAT TRAVEL OPTIONS

So THIS IS THE TRAVEL DRESS that everybody should have.  It’s a heavier knit than just a regular t-shirt, and I like that!  It is a relaxed fit, but not sloppy.  The trim around the neck is same as the trim around the armholes.  I’m wearing a small.

Want a romper that you can live in?  Look no further.  It’s soft and comfy enough to wear to sleep, but it’s cute enough that you can wear it around town as well.  Slip it on and go!  I’m wearing my regular small, and it’s still got room.  I haven’t washed it yet, but I read reviews that said it washes well.  It also comes in navy, black, and a small stripe!

Oh.  AND IT HAS POCKETS.

It also comes in a sleeveless version from the same maker HERE and a sleeveless jumpsuit version HERE. Both have FANTASTIC reviews.  Any of these would be great to throw on with a denim jacket for travel.

The reviews are mixed on this top, but I really love it!  People seem to either love it or hate it (based on quality), but I have no issues with the quality!  It was ONLY $18, and I love how pretty and vibrant it is.  I was really drawn to the color combination.

I sized up after reading the reviews, and I’m so glad I did.  I’m wearing a medium here, but I actually think I would like the way the large might fit even better. If you look at the fit of the top on the model, it’s quite oversized and flowy, and it looks cute that way!  Notice the pretty sleeves and the cute little trim on the hem.

This striped romper is DARLING.  And it’s right at $20.

Mine is the crew neck version, not the off the shoulder version, but the link has both.  This romper comes in TONS of different colorways (both stripes and solids), but I was definitely drawn to the black and white stripes.

I’m wearing the jacket with it because the top was way too tight on me in a small.  If I was wearing a medium, perhaps I could wear it without the jacket.

I love this little romper and think it’s very flattering.

This striped dress is definitely one of my tip top picks from Amazon of all times. AND IT’S UNDER $20!!!!  It’s well made, a great fit, and I of course love the stripes.  Add in a little pleated ruffle trim on the sleeve, and BAM.  You’ve got a great little summer dress.

I’m in a medium because I didn’t want a body conscious fit at all, and I definitely didn’t want it too tight in the chest.

I love the grey striped one too, and the red one would be darling for the 4th.

This dress is greatness and it launders beautifully.

And because you’ve requested for everything I’ve posted from Amazon for the month to be all in one place – CUTE AND COMFY BASICS (again)

I found these undies last year, and have talked about them several times on the blog.  When I mentioned them again in January as one of the Top 10 purchases from 2019, I had several readers suggest I also try the next 2 undies.  So, I did what any good blogger would do, and I ordered them to try so I could report back to y’all.

This 4 pack of lace thongs comes in several different color combos. The price is different depending on which pack you choose, but they range between just $14-$20.  They are VERY SIMILAR to the Hanky Panky’s that so many of us love, and they are a fraction of the price.  It’s basically 4 for 1!  I wore them for several days and think they are very comfortable.  Are they are great as the Hanky Panky’s?  That would be hard to say…but they are reallllllly good.  And they are definitely a great less expensive option for those who refuse to pay $22 for one pair of undies!

It’s hard for me to comment on the undies you see next, because I ordered a medium, and I DEFINITELY need a small. Still, several readers recommended them, so you might want to give them a shot.  They certainly are a great price.

MY COMFY FINDS

Y’all know I love a great pair of pajama/lounge pants, AND BOY HAVE I GOT A GREAT PAIR OF PAJAMA PANTS FOR YOU.  They come in 2 striped options (navy and grey) and 4 solid color options.  They all have the cute little tie, and I think the fit is so cute.  And they are of course soft and comfy. For size reference, I’m wearing a small in the pants, and I would suggest sizing down if between sizes.

The tee is one you’ve seen before.  It’s definitely cute enough to wear out and about, but it’s definitely comfy enough for lounge wear and even to sleep in if you wish.  For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

This next item is a find that I am crazy excited about!!!

This hoodie is AWESOME.  First of all, it’s flattering, which is always a very important criteria for me.  I WANT FLATTERING. ALWAYS.

There’s just something about the way it’s cut and the design and placement of the bottom band and the pockets that just make it a great little jacket for leggings. I mean, I think it would be great with jeans too, but it really is perfect with leggings.

I loved this vibrant blue, but there are 5 other available colors as well.  My other favorite color is the dark grey space dye.  AND LADIES.  IT’S ONLY $25 (or less depending on the color)!

And do we need to talk about the sneakers and the leggings again?  I’m going to sum up my recommendation for both in 2 words:  GET. THEM.

Seriously.  Get them both.  And go ahead and throw in the hoodie and the earrings.

This next hoodie has mixed reviews, but I happen to like it.  There are a couple of reviews stating the button was too small for the hole and had problems staying closed.  I didn’t experience this at all, so I think they must have fixed that issue.

It’s definitely more of a jacket than just a shirt, because the button on the top left is really the only thing holding it closed. You for sure need to wear something under it. It’s soft, it’s roomy, and I like that it’s different. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

Here are the leggings..and the sneakers…and the earrings…AGAIN.  These are definitely the basics that I now reach for all the time.  Constantly, really.

And now I’m wearing them with just a plain ol’ sweatshirt.  A plain ol’ sweatshirt that happens to be great.

You’ve seen a striped version of this sweatshirt before, but today I’m sharing the solid grey.  It’s soft, it’s oversized, and it’s great with leggings.

For size reference, I’m wearing a medium, but I would prefer the fit of the small.  I have this sweatshirt in a grey stripe also (see below), and I thought it was a medium, which is why I ordered the solid grey in a medium.  HOWEVER, I realized after ordering that I actually have the striped version in a small and prefer the fit of the small.

See?  The small is just a better fit.  The arms are less slouchy, and I like them better this way. (Let’s take a moment to talk about my poofy hair here, I’m not sure what was happening.  #itssotall)

This sweatshirt is straight up awesome.  It’s a super soft fleece and modal blend with ribbing at the hem and cuffs.  It’s sooooooooooooo soft and soooooooooooooo cozy.  And it’s completely leggings appropriate.  I’m wearing a small in both the sweatshirt and the leggings.  I highly recommend this sweatshirt.  Size down a 1/2 in the sneakers.

Now, let’s talk about these pave earrings again.

I mean, I’m not a diamond expert, but I think these babies look real.  AND THEY ARE JUST $14.95!  I wear these alllllllll the time.  I sleep in them, I talk on the phone with them, and I LOVE them.

And because this is a post on cute and comfy basics, I’m going to post an outfit that I first showed you in January’s Amazon haul.  I’ve received COUNTLESS messages from readers about all 3 items in this outfit, so I feel like it deserves another look.  Here’s just one message I received about each of the pieces:

  Hi, Sheaffer! I’m a jogger fanatic. (I’m laughing because I’m not a jogging fanatic, but I AM a jogger fanatic. I wanted to shoot you a quick e-mail because the mesh sneakers are everything you said they were and more!  I’m quite a bit older than you (closer to your mom’s age than yours), and I wore them all over Europe without any problems.  I love that they are so easy to slip on and off, and I think they’re cute too.  I’m going to get another pair, and my daughter and 17 year old granddaughter ended up getting them for themselves as well. This hoodie is my idea of a perfect basic.  The quality is amazing and I think it’s a total steal at $35.  You will reach for this over and over.  It’s soooooooooooooo soft on the inside because it’s lined with some super soft blush fleece. I love the stripes and it’s a great casual top to pair both with jeans and joggers.  It comes in 2 other stripe colorways and 6 solid colors too, and this is one of those tops that many of you will love so much that you will grab in at least 1 more color.

I’m wearing a small here and it’s fine, but if I order a 2nd color (thinking about the grey stripes), I’ll order a medium for a more relaxed fit.

And yes…these are the joggers that I’ve been screaming and shouting about for a couple of months now, and I can confidently say I love them even more now than when I first got them.  They wash beautifully and still look brand new.  THEY ARE FANTASTIC.  I really like the exaggerated height on the cuff at the ankle and think they are very flattering.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Some reviewers complained of a chemical smell, and lots of you have asked me about it, but mine don’t smell AT ALL. Other readers have chimed in and said the same thing.  They must have fixed the issue!

I’ve already gotten so much wear out of this great new jacket!  It will be good with jeans, but it’s GREAT with leggings.  It’s got give, it gives a layer of warmth, and it covers the hiney.

AND YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE the price. I used to have a Nike jacket like this (that was around $130 or $145), but I dropped something on it and stained it. Broke my heart because I loved that jacket. BUT Y’ALL! This one is just as good.

It comes in 4 colors, but I went with the light heather grey. I like the longer length, the rounded hem, the black piping, the zippered pockets, the functional hood, I LOVE ALL OF IT. It has a bit of stretch and it’s machine washable.

It’s soooooooooooooo good.

I’m wearing a medium in the jacket and the tee (to make sure they were plenty long for leggings – I think a small might have been fine in the jacket because it’s VERY roomy), a small in the leggings, and I sized down a 1/2 in the sneakers.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND all of the pieces I’m wearing.  SERIOUSLY, TRUST ME ON THIS.

And I also have a couple of variations of what has definitely been my run around town outfit formula for the last couple of months.  I love the joggers and this denim jacket together, so it’s fun to mix up the look a bit with different shirts, jewelry, and shoes.

THE LAST 3 THINGS I PRIMED

Just for fun, I took a look at my Amazon order history to see the 3 last things I primed.  These are items that I cannot wait to receive and review in next month’s haul:

*  A fleece sweatshirt dress with amazing reviews. I grabbed the stripes and think it will be so cute with Converse!

*  A type of sweater/wrap top that looks absolutely DARLING.  I opted for the black, but it comes in 5 colors.

*  I can hardly wait to get this ripple stitch short sleeve sweater!  Grey is what’s coming to me.
