Everybody Needs a Chambray Shirt!

Every closet needs a chambray shirt.
Plain and simple, a chambray shirt is a closet staple.
And I’m telling you, you will surprise yourself at how many times you will wear it.
I have one from J Crew Factory (that’s probably 3-4 years old) that I absolutely love.
I wear it a ton (and it’s appeared in many posts), and every time I have it on, I just have to link to a similar shirt because J Crew Factory no longer carries it.
My shirt was a popover (vs. a full button down), and I just couldn’t ever
find a current one that I loved (that wasn’t over $100).
Well.
I finally found one that measures up to the original and doesn’t break the bank.
THIS one.
I got a small, so I would say it runs true to size.

Today I wanted to show you the popover with white jeans and brown boots (love the look), and then I decided to take the post a step further.

I wore the necklace 3 days in a row (one outfit I forgot to get a picture of…but it was with skinny jeans, booties, and my neutral colored Free People tee).

I loved the look, but my regular size small was too short for my liking.
If I was going to wear it with leggings, I would definitely size up to a medium, and I would still wear a cami or tank under it just to make extra sure the lady bits were sufficiently covered.

    Shaeffer! I love this post! Ok….first things first….what would I choose? I love the agate necklaces! I'm planning a trip to TX in a few weeks to visit my sister and usually take a gift. I think I may order one of those for each of us. Nothing says "Hey, I'm your twin and I love ya" like matching agate necklaces! How ridiculous is it to have necklaces shipped from McKinney to NC only to fly them back to Arlington? On second thought….maybe we'll just spend a day in McKinney! 🙂

    Now my real reason for posting. What the heck do I pack for the heat in Texas while still rocking my fall gear?!?! Here in NC it's boots, dresses, and military jackets all day everyday, but I feel like I'll melt if I pack that for Texas! Help me. I need some Shaeffer Told Me To inspiration. We'll be bopping around DFW for a few days, road tripping down to Austin, and attending a banquet over the weekend. How do I pack temperature appropriate and still give a nod to the loveliness that is October?!?
