After my repeat Leggings Are Not Pants post a couple of weeks ago (found HERE), I received many e-mails saying some variation of the following:
*Your first Leggings Are Not Pants post is how I found your blog in the first place!
*Now that I have these leggings, I’m not sure how I lived XX years without them in my life!
*I also received plenty of WHAT THE HECK DO I WEAR WITH MY
LEGGINGS NOW THAT I HAVE THEM? e-mails.
Well, never fear.
I’ve got this ladies.
Tunics that you can find in stores today!
Tunics that are cute AND cover all of your lady bits.
😉
Yes, my friend Andrea is responsible for the above awesomeness.
Don’t you wish your friend was as funny and creative as mine? 😉
I mean, “adorable hiney”. Hilarious.
Let’s start out the post by reminding you of my favorite leggings.
(Just in case you just found the blog within the last couple of weeks.)
Click HERE for the PTMT MUST HAVE leggings.
AND THEY ARE 25% OFF RIGHT NOW MAKING THEM
ONLY $27!!!!!
For size reference, I have a SMALL in these leggings but only wear them with tall boots (b/c they are way too long for me to wear with flats).
I have the black and the grey, and I know many of you have the espresso also!
I’ve had them for a year now, and they still look AWESOME.
They don’t sag, they wash perfectly, and they suck you in without making it difficult to breathe.
Those are all WINS in my book.
I ordered LOTS of tunics so I could sift through them at home, style them with different boots and jewelry, and find the most perfect ones.
I do have 1 problem though.
I ended up ordering 10 tunics.
And my plan was to keep 1…possibly 2 of them.
I hated 4 of them (that you won’t even see on today’s post), so that was actually good.
I’ve returned 6 already (4 that I hated, and 2 that I returned because I just didn’t love them) because I had to get them off the ol’ charge card.
But there are 4 still hanging in my closet.
4 that I LOVE and ADORE.
4 that I feel like I need.
I’ve decided I’m going to allow myself to keep 3 of them….because they aren’t just for leggings, they will look awesome with jeans too….and I know I will get my $ worth out of them.
Decisions.

SO SIT BACK, RELAX, AND GET READY FOR THE TUNIC PARADE!!!!
Click HERE for this denim tunic that also comes in 3 other solid colors.
For size reference, I was wearing a medium to make it long enough for leggings.

If you don’t have to worry about sucking in (you go!), then you might really like this one!
Also from Bobeau, THIS hooded long cardigan. It’s plenty long in the front and back to pair with leggings!
(I found out about this when Jessica, a reader, e-mailed me to say it was her less expensive version of the blardigan!)
*************************************************
Click HERE for this Splendid jersey v-neck tunic.
For size reference, I was wearing a medium in this picture.
I ordered a medium because I wanted to make sure it was going to be super flowy, which it was.
I’d be interested to see if the small would have fit better…but I still loved the way the medium looked!
tunic HERE, leggings HERE, black camisole HERE (also love the Shimera tank HERE)
earrings c/o Accessory Concierge HERE,
fatima necklace c/o Gorjana Griffin HERE
Frye boots HERE
It is very different than anything else in my closet, and I think that’s why I loved it so much!
I felt super stylish in it AND like I was wearing pajamas.
This one is staying with me fo’ sho’.
**************************************************
Click HERE for the belted french terry jacket.
For size reference, I was wearing a small.
There are 24/41 5 star reviews and 9 4 star reviews, so I guess the reviews are a little mixed.
BUT I LOVED THIS!
I’m wearing the “neutral streaky” colorway.
I showed Shay this picture and she said it was, and I quote, “VERY Olivia Pope.”
I’ll take it.
tunic HERE, leggings HERE, black camisole HERE (also love the Shimera tank HERE)
earrings c/o Accessory Concierge HERE,
signature necklace c/o BaubleBar HERE
Frye boots HERE
I just thought it was a really great look.
So…who wants to be all Olivia Pope with me?
***********************************************
Click HERE for the cowl neck Free People tunic.
For size reference, I was wearing the x-small/small.
tunic HERE, leggings HERE, earrings c/o Accessory Concierge HERE,
Frye boots HERE
If you are long-waisted, you might have to wear a cami or tank under this for maximum coverage.
It was plenty long on me, but remember I’m only 5’4″.
If you’re too tall to wear this with leggings, consider getting it to wear with jeans.
****************************************
Click HERE for this Mimi Chica tunic dress. For size reference, I was wearing a small, but if it wasn’t for my boobs, I think I could have taken the x-small.
tunic HERE, leggings HERE,
earrings c/o Gorjana Giffin at Nordstrom HERE, fatima necklace c/o Gorgana Griffin HERE
magenta necklace c/o Kendra Scott HERE
cognac wedge boots sold out, but similar NEW for only $99.95 HERE
*************************************************
You know I couldn’t do a tunics post without talking about the much beloved blardigan.
Click HERE. For size reference, I have a small/medium.
Remember that the blardigan is fitted in the arms, which makes it okay to wear it out of the house!
blardigan HERE, leggings HERE, black camisole HERE (also love the Shimera tank HERE)
earrings c/o Accessory Concierge HERE,
signature necklace c/o BaubleBar HERE
Frye boots HERE
Do you have any trips planned soon?
If so, you are looking at the most comfortable travel outfit you could ever imagine.
Click HERE for this striped tunic from Caslon. For size reference, I was wearing a small.
tunic HERE, leggings HERE, earrings c/o Gorgnana Giffin at Nordstrom HERE,
white necklace sold out, but similar c/o Kendra Scott HERE
cognac wedge boots sold out, but similar NEW for only $99.95 HERE
This tunic is quite fitted, so if you’re scared to wear it with leggings, you might prefer to wear it with jeans.
Okay…so those are all of the new tunics!
Now a review of a couple of the tunics I’ve talked about before (that are still available).
1)
ultra wide waistband MUST HAVE leggings HERE, Frye boots HERE,
Kimberly necklace HERE, abalone earring c/o Kendra Scott HERE
For size reference, I’m wearing a small in the tunic.
Also, the reviews talk about how the lace on the sleeves is tight, and I would agree.
I happen to like the sleeves tight, because I feel like it helps it not look sloppy.
However, if you have a large forearm, you might not like these sleeves. Just fyi.
***
and it looks awesome with the leggings.
I feel like I need a drum roll or something.
Or some guy in his own pair of leggings with a trumpet drawing attention to the unveiling of this fabulous find.
But since I’ve got neither….here it is.
If you don’t mind, just imagine some trumpet fanfare.
Click HERE for the colors that remain.
Lots of solids and stripes still available!
The wedge boots in the above pictures are sold out, but you can find similar ones HERE.
SO…
HOW DID YOU LIKE THE TUNIC PARADE?
WHICH ONE(S) ARE YOUR FAVORITES?
SOUND OFF IN THE COMMENTS!!!!!
But before you go, I’ve got some SALE items to highlight.
Click HERE for my AG jeans. My first pair of designer jeans are NOW ON SALE!!!
For size reference, I’m wearing a size 27, so I would say they are true to size.
Click HERE for the booties (order 1/2 a size up!)
The jeans are 33% OFF and fully stocked!
The picture looks like they are cropped but on my 5’4″ frame that is not the case. To wear flats and booties I will definitely be cuffing them.
Here they are with booties…(fyi: I hold my shirt up like that so you can see where the waist falls).
I.LOVE.THESE.JEANS.
TOTALLY worth the money in my opinion.
(Please disregard the scary and oddly shaped claw in the pic on the left. WHOSE HAND IS THAT?)
So you can see above they look cute cuffed with booties (find the booties HERE).
Here the same jeans with tall boots and tunics.
Anthropologie lace tunic HERE .
Caslon belted tunic HERE.
Similar cognac wedge boots HERE.
AG jeans ON SALE HERE.
In addition to the jeans, I’ve got some shoe and boot sales you HAVE to know about.
If you follow me on facebook, then you got a sneak peek of these sales yesterday!
The cognac Sam Edelman felicia flats (HERE) are also 20% OFF (other colors too)!
The felicia flats are stupid comfortable.
And THESE wedge booties by Dolce Vita are 33% OFF!
And the FRYE Melissa Button riding boots (HERE) are 20% OFF!
(My
mom and my sister both have this particular Frye boot and LOVE it. You
can dress them up or down and they are just plain awesome.)
And I added these to Wednesday’s post late Wednesday night (and put them on facebook early Thursday morning)…but just in case you didn’t see either of those….
Thanks to an e-mail from a super sweet reader (Hi Julie!) I know that
the Vince Camuto bisque patent flats that I wear CONSTANTLY are now 20%
OFF making them $63.16.
Get ’em before they are out of your size!!!
Y’all.
Happy Friday Girls!

Somewhere in Southlake right now, my mom is giddy with excitement that you're talking about leggings (again). She is probably pinning these images like crazy right now ;)! You looked fabulous in all of them but I think my very favorite was the blue stripe. Loved it!!!
Jamie says
Goodness I love your blog! Where has it been all my life? I just ordered the fabulous Hue leggings – I can't wait to try them! The weather is starting to get chilly here in the Midwest (finally), so they will come in handy just in time! Love all of your tunic suggestions – – I'm going to breeze through Target for some super budget-friendly options today! 🙂 Thanks!!!!
Susan Jeffries says
I felt like I needed a musical instrument so I could march along with you in your tunic parade!! I loved this! I remember that Carlson sweater from last year and I love it more now! Soooo it is 40% off and today is my wedding anniversary! I am ordering that and the leggings as a gift to myself! Sixteen years deserves an award, right?;) Thank you for your daily inspiration! I love your posts!! Susan
Michelle says
This might be kind of a dumb question, but when wearing the blardigan, does the shirt underneath need to cover the crotchal area, as well? If so, what t-shirts and/or tanks do you recommend because I can never find ones long enough…
Sheaffer says
Hi Michelle!
If it's not black, then I think it needs to cover. If it's the same color as the leggings, then I think it all blends in and the blardigan is flowy enough that it works. I would check Anthropologie for some long tees. I'm going in a couple of weeks, and I will definitely try to scope some out! Stay tuned!!!
xoxo,
Sheaffer 🙂
Devon Christensen says
my question answered!
Tab & Erika says
F is my favorite!!! The flowy one!!! Loved it…when you make your decision you have to keep it!!
kimm atwood says
Denim tunic….amazing!!! Love love love!!!!!! And this girl is happy heading to nordstrom today to purchase the must have leggings. What a good deal;)
Kellyann Rohr says
You look great in every one of those tunics! I especially love the belted french terry tunic. And FYI, there is nothing massive about you – except of course your wit and charm!!!! Thanks for bringing a smile to my face with every post!!!!!
Sheaffer says
Kellyann….you are too sweet! Your comment totally made ME smile! Thank you!!!
xoxo,
Sheaffer 🙂
p.s. And my rib cage really is massive. He he. 🙂
Jen V. says
Eek! I just ordered the Caslon Knit Tunic that you've dubbed the best tunic ever! I ordered the black to wear with my charcoal must have leggings (unfortunately it's on back order until mid-November).
You look amazing in all of the above, and I love the sweet sleeping puppy photobomb! 🙂
As usual, thanks for being the world wide web's best "personal" shopper!
Terrie Mathison says
Great option again. I like these tunics alot – that French Terry one is fabulous, although the flowy long one in back is pretty awesome too! Thanks for the ideas! Love your blog!
Susan Jeffries says
I placed my very first Nordstrom order today!! I got the leggings and then I ordered the tunic in purple! It is back ordered and wont ship until next month, but I hope it is ok if I post it on my blog with links to you!! If it looks good that is(: Thanks!! Susan
Krista Youngblood says
Love this post – and can I jut say, you style your tunics so much better than the website :)… You look adorable! Love the v-neck, really want the lace one, and of course the blargain!!
Kelly says
Check out this tunic/dress. I think you would love it! I bought the purple and wore it about 4 times in one week and then purchased the grey. It is perfect for leggings and is almost as comfortable and soft as the Blardigan!

marianne says
FYI you can get amazing super long tanks at buckle. $16!! Very stretchy soft and long.
Lynne says
For a crazy cheap option (2/$10) H&M has long layering camis that stretch way long. They are a cami style (aka spaghetti strap) so you've for to be a little careful w the too you choose but I have literally a dozen in different colors to supplement my other tanks or layer with them.
In other news, that Free People tunic in purple is sold out! Boo.
Holly says
I just have to tell you that in the last 5-6 years we got my mom out of wearing leggings…from 1990. Now she just wears yoga pants instead. I've got to tell her that Leggings are back Mama!
April Parrish says
I'm speechless and don't even have time to really comment because I have to SHOP!!!!! I am in love with both cowl neck tunics you featured and I seriously want those Melissa FRYE boots!!!!
Have a great weekend!
MadCity says
I ordered a few of the Caslon tunics back during the Anniversary sale but always looking for new and different leggings ideas because I do love wearing them! I ordered 2 more of the Caslon and the belted jacket (cute!) Thanks for another great post. On a side note, a Nordstrom Rack just opened last night here in my town. I'm hoping to have time to check it out today for any great deals. My sweet hubby is SO happy I got that Nordstrom card! 🙂
Doused In Pink says
Fall means bring out the leggings so I'm so happy to see this post. All of your picks are super cute! My favorite is the one from Anthropologie! Have a great weekend!

I can't get tunic #6 to come up it keeps giving me #1. Also in belted tunic which I love "Olivia" which color are you wearing?
Sheaffer says
Hi Kathy! One of the links was wrong, and one of the links was right…but I fixed the wrong one! Thanks for the heads up! I'm wearing the "neutral streaky" colorway in the Olivia Pope tunic. 🙂

Those hue leggings really are a game changer! I just love the wide waistband!
Dana says
Sheaffer! You've got great style… I don't think I've ever seen you in an outfit I didn't love! I am especially loving that striped blue tunic sweater! I heart leggings!! 🙂

I wanted to share a great top I found that works with leggings. Being 5'9", I have a hard time finding tops that will actually cover my crotchal area. Imagine my surprise when I found one at Target of all places AND it was $15! Its the Women's Perfect Fit Longsleeve V-Neck by Mossimo. I love it so much that I bought 2 more colors online! Its so soft and perfect for us tall girls to wear safely with our leggings! Sandy
riley says
Sorry to have to disagree with you, but Tunic #3 needs to go back. Too much show-through when light is behind you. A silhouette is nearly as bad as the real thing. Tunic #4? I just don't see that as being attractive on you. Especially when you have all those other GREAT choices (well, except for poor #3).
And thanks for taking the lead on the Cover Your Crotchal Area campaign. 😉
ljones83 says
I'm actually wearing leggings today with a men's button down shirt (which covers all of my bits!)!! I thought of your post when getting dressed this morning. 🙂
Anonymous says
Love the leggings. 🙂 Don't make the same mistake I did…I ordered from Amazon in grey thinking they were cheaper there. Then, two other colors from Nordstrom (black and brown). The grey ones had a hole after the first time I wore them! Definitely suspicious.
MizGrant says
I didn't love tunic 4 when you posted the graphic a few days back. Now; I think I need it!
SarahN says
I love all of your tunic options, but I realllllly love that you are still wearing your cognac boots from last year! I've recently started wearing mine again and I'm still in love 🙂
Sarah says
Somehow I don't owe the leggings but hopefully that is changing in the VERY near future. LOVE the chambray popover, so so adorable.
Bama Girl in TX says
It's like a magic trick. I read your blog, I click a link and I buy! lol Happy Friday to me!! Those red Hunters are now on their way to me! (along with 2 pair of leggings from yesterday)
Rebecca@littledevilswithwings says
Hahaha. I'm so happy to know I'm not the only one that says crotchal area! You crack me up Sheaffer! I love that gray and lace tunic, I must have it!
Nikki Poole says
I shouldn't share this so I can hoard it for myself but the Splendid tunic is on sale at Nordstrom in the charcoal color – 20% off. I noticed it when I was looking for that top in another color. Enjoy!
jenniraincloud says
This post is so helpful! I was just scanning Nordstrom for tunics to cover my crotch since my new HUE leggings just came in the mail-thanks to your part 1 post! You rock!!

Any good plus size tunics out there??

Could you do a similar post but with SWEATERS? I live in a very cold part of New England and love to wear leggings but I don't have any covering sweaters (not cardigans – it's far too cold for that). THANKS!
Jessica says
Love this post, I ordered the must have leggings online from Nordie's. So much of your stuff is from Nordstroms, you must live there ;0) I am so sad that my Nordstroms in the Florida Mall closed a month ago in my town of Orlando. But we still have Nordstrom Rack and I can still order online. After seeing this post, I went looking for tunics of my own and 2 great places to check out are Old Navy where everything is 30% off and Ann Taylor Loft where everything is 40% off. Went alittle crazy today…oh well! But got great tops for my leggings when they come.
Suzanne Silon says
Love the Anthro tunic! Do you think it is a flattering fit or would it show off post partum tummy?!?
Sheaffer says
Hi Suzanne! Hmmm…it's kind of fitted, so I'm not sure if a new mommy would love it or not?!? Sorry I'm not more help!
xoxo,
Sheaffer 🙂
Kelly Wardrop says
What size did you get in the Caslon tunic? The models online look like their tunics are huge…yours is more fitted. Thanks!
Sheaffer says
HI Kelly!
I'm wearing a small in the Caslon tunic! I agree, it looks like the model needs to size down 1 or 2 sizes herself!
xoxo,
Sheaffer 🙂

LOVED this !!! Thank you sooo much!!!

Ugh! This post is EVIL!! I am on a no buy month after all the damage I've done at Loft & Nordie's in the past 2 months. But darn it I am NOT passing up the legging sale!! I ordered a second pair, one size up when I am in my "winter weight" 🙂 And I may or may not have emailed my husband the blardigan link with a reminder that my birthday is next month…

I wrote you that last comment and realized I was signed in as my husband's Google name- I am not "Mr.Simpson."

Love your blog! You are costing me some bucks! Ha but you look so cute in everything. Just got tunic 4 and 6 in the mail and love them. Where did you get the polka dot tan tank you are wearing with the belted French terry? Love that together. Keep blogging. Love it!
Sheaffer says
So sorry but it was from LOFT years ago! Thanks for the sweet words!

I am brand new to your blog, and it's easily one of my favorites! I just got the Must Have Leggings yesterday. Oh my word…they are amazing. I think I'll be wearing them all.the.time. this season 🙂 THANK YOU!!
Jodi says
I have been following your blog for a couple of months now, and I LOVE it!!! I have such a time putting things together and you are such a huge help. OK…..question…..I love the look of leggings, and have a couple pair from Gap that I had to have but haven't worn because I don't know what to put them with them, so this post helps. I totally get the covering up your crotch…The blardigan….you have a tank underneath….does the tank have to be long and loose to cover that up, since the blardigan/ cardigan is open? 🙂 I would love to hear from you on your suggestion. 🙂
Jodi
Sheaffer says
Hi Jodi!
The tank doesn't necessarily have to be loose, but it does have to be long! Target has some Long and Lean tanks that work nicely! Glad to have you as a reader Jodi!

Sheaffer: I took the plunge and bought my first pair of Frye boots today and am having complete buyer's remorse!!! I'm so excited for the boots and have wanted them for years- but the price tag! Can you give me any feedback about the boots? Sell me! I've been reading reviews and I love them!! Are they worth it??
Sheaffer says
Maddie! WELCOME TO THE CLUB! I understand the buyer's remorse. I get it because I had it too. BUT NO MORE MY FRIEND! They are one of my favorite purchases ever, and I know I will be wearing them for the next 10 (at least!) years!!!!
xoxo,

My favorite is B. I have a hard time due to the fact that I'm tall (5'9.5" or so) and so things are shorter on me. 🙁
