The Shirtdress

I’m talking with Nordstrom today about the shirtdress.  I’ve always been a fan of the shirtdress, and this year there are lots of great options out there!  Most of them can be worn as a dress or with skinny jeans, and just about all of them can be paired with leggings.  I ordered three in preparation for this post, and THIS one was my favorite!  At 5’4″ it would have been too short on me to wear without leggings, but when wearing leggings, I felt completely comfortable with the short length.  In fact, I liked the short length!  If you are 5’5″ or over, I think this particular shirtdress might not be right for you.  But if you are petite, I think you will love it!  It won’t overwhelm your frame and it’s very flattering.  Oh, and it has pockets.  Bam.

For size reference, I’m wearing a small in the dress, so I think it’s true to size.  There’s not a lot of extra room, so if you are between sizes, I would suggest sizing up 1 size.  Actually, a friend told me last night after seeing my instagram post that she had to size up in it because her normal size was tight across her bum.  I’m wearing a small in the leggings as well.

I also thought it would be fun to pair it with the red rumba fringe infinity scarf.  I can’t say enough great things about this scarf.  It comes in several colors, it totally styles itself, and it makes an amazing gift.  And it’s ONLY $19!

And good news, there are lots of other shirtdress options out there right now to choose from! THIS has to be my favorite one.  I just found it over the weekend, and I ordered it in both small and medium because I wasn’t sure which one I would need.  It’s supposed to arrive today, so I might even have a review of it by Friday’s post!  I love the colors and the fact that it’s a bit roomier than the one I featured today.  I love how this one looks with bare legs and a pair of booties (on the model below), but I know it will look great with leggings as well!  Fyi:  Also arriving tomorrow, the HUE blackout leggings.  I just had to try them based on several reader recommendations.  And they come in navy, which I think would be darling with this dress.
