Conner’s Closet: Work Wear Guide #3

It’s time for the 3rd installment of Conner’s Closet!!!  If you didn’t see the first post, Conner is my sister and she works in HR for a hospital system.  She always looks so polished and put together, and since I often receive requests for work wear ideas from y’all (but I don’t have the need for work wear), I had an idea to start a monthly series where she highlights business casual attire!

Click HERE to read the first post where she highlighted tons of great items from LOFT (and I told y’all a little bit about her)!  And then last month we decided to feature stuff from Ann Taylor.  Personally, I never really shop at Ann Taylor, just because most of their stuff is geared towards more of a dressier vibe than I usually go for or need since I don’t work in an office environment.  My sister hasn’t regularly shopped there before either, because the price point is higher than she is used to.  But she found a ton of great stuff last month, and she shopped a sale, so the pieces were totally affordable! And if you remember, last month I also showed my mom in some Ann Taylor pieces!

Before we get started with the new items, let’s review the wardrobe staples that Conner has and wears all the time.  For some reason, it won’t let me grab a picture of this item, but she absolutely loves THESE pants from GAP.  And last month she added THESE block heels to her wardrobe. Halogen Dress

Conner bought this dress several weeks ago.  It went on sale shortly after, and when we realized that, I immediately put it on facebook (I always have to let y’all know about the sale prices)!  Sadly, it’s now sold out.  🙁  Still, I wanted y’all to see the idea of the dress with a little cardi.  It’s totally business appropriate (especially with the addition of the cardigan), but when you lose the cardi and pair it with strappy sandals, it’s magically dressed up for a wedding or night out!

Loft Peplum Blouse

Here’s what Conner had to say:  This blouse.  I die.  The colors are SO vibrant!  If you look online, the blouse looks black, but it’s not – it’s a very deep teal.  I’m wearing it with my gray Marisa pants from the Loft. This blouse is on the shorter side, but in my opinion, that’s what makes it so stinkin’ cute.  I recommend sizing down in the blouse.  You’ll also notice that I’m wearing the burgundy block heels from the last post.  WHY HAVE YOU NOT BOUGHT THESE SHOES YET? Haven’t I made it clear they go with everything?!? 🙂  The burgundy matches perfectly with the burgundy in the blouse.  Just go ahead and add the shoes to your cart. You won’t regret it, I promise.

Loft Split Neck Blouse

Here’s what Conner had to say:  I don’t typically wear a lot of red or orange, but I wanted to step outside my comfort zone and I’m SO glad I did.  I can guarantee you that you don’t have anything like this in your closet!  It’s a perfect fall blouse, plus it’s super comfortable.  Some days, I just want to be cozy and not have to put a lot of effort into my outfit.  This blouse is perfect for those days.  I threw it on with my go to black pants from the Gap, my black Kendra Scott earrings, and the Elise M. “Athena” necklace…BOOM.  Done.  The blouse was a little low on me (everything always is), so I wore a black tank underneath.  The tank isn’t necessary, but I think it pulled the outfit together nicely.  The blouse fits true to size (XXS regular) and is machine washable.

As you can see, the blouse also looks great with dark skinny jeansand burgundy jeans!  The top has 4/4 5 STAR reviews.  People LOVE this blouse.

Loft Paisley Sweater

Here’s what Conner had to say:  The fit of this sweater is adorable.  I absolutely love it.  I will wear it with my black pants from the Gap and with jeans for a more casual look.  I am wearing it with my black Kendra Scott earrings.  Another one of those “I don’t feel like thinking today but still want to look cute” outfits J It fits true to size and is machine washable.   And it’s ON SALE today for $35!!!
