Well, Ladies…SHE’S BACK!
After countless requests from y’all, Conner is finally back with her WORK WEAR posts! If you’ve been around here for awhile, you might remember that Conner used to do WORK WEAR posts every couple of months. Well, when the world shut down two years ago she started working from home (still does), so she stopped doing the posts.
However, after getting TONS (literally hundreds) of requests for “more Conner posts” over the last couple of years, I asked her if she would be interested in guest posting again and she was totally on board! She ordered tons of items (all from LOFT and Amazon), and she has several great outfits for us today. Take it away, Conner! (Go ahead and take a moment to admire her precious family! Haha!)
I’m baaaaack and I’m so excited to be sharing WORK WEAR outfits with y’all again! Even though I am not back in the office full time, I have popped into our office in Frisco, TX on a few occasions. To be honest, I miss getting dressed up in work wear! Now, you’ll notice there are more casual looks in this post that there have been in past posts. Unfortunately, some of the items I ordered didn’t meet my expectations, and I didn’t want to lead y’all astray. Going forward, my posts will be focused on work wear, but I threw a few casual Friday looks in for this post. Enjoy!
Garden Puff Sleeve Top, Tie Waist Taper Pants (Kelly green), Sutton Skinny Pants (navy), Amazon suede sandals
In full transparency, I did not read the description of the top before purchasing, BUT I’m glad I didn’t! This top is 100% cotton and feels like a sweatshirt, but the print makes it versatile and it can be worn with jeans or work pants. It has ¾ puff sleeves and a v-shaped yolk. I love love love the print and have already worn it a couple of times on the weekends with jeans. I paired the stop with the Kelly green tie waist taper pants AND the navy Sutton skinny pants.
In my opinion, it looks best with the navy pants, but you can definitely wear it with Kelly green for a totally different look. If you prefer a high waist pant, go with the Sutton skinny pants. I believe this pant style replaced the Marisa pant (which I’m still upset about, boo). It is a great alternative and the fit is similar to the Marisa fit. If you prefer a mid-rise pant, the tie waist taper pant is for you. Both pants are true to size (0 petite in both). We also have to talk about these SUPER cute sandals from Amazon. Yes, AMAZON! I honestly couldn’t believe it. I love these shoes! They’re cute and comfortable. The suede is a nude color with a hint of blush, but definitely appear to be more neutral. I’m wearing a 5.5 and they are TTS.
Amazon White Sweater, Sutton Skinny Pants, Amazon Suede Sandals
You guys, when some of my LOFT items didn’t work out, Sheaffer told me to pick out some Amazon items. I’ve got to be honest, I was definitely unsure. But she’s was right, and I’m still in shock over how many great work wear options are available on Amazon!
How adorable is this white sweater?!? This sweater can pair with anything in your wardrobe – dress pants, jeans, skirts, etc. I love the fit and the material is stretchy and buttery soft. There are tiny holes in the fabric, but they’re extremely small, so you don’t need to wear a cami underneath. It has over 3,000 reviews and comes in 43 colors. I’ll probably add a few more to my closet in the near future! I’m wearing an XS which is TTS.
Floral Shirred Tie Neck Blouse, Sutton Skinny pants, Amazon Sandals
Y’all know I love a good floral print and this blouse did not disappoint! The tie neck and blouson sleeves make this flowy top irresistible. I love the look with the navy Sutton pants, but it also looks great with white jeans. It’s a cotton blend and will wash well. I’m wearing an XS, but this top fits more blousy than other Loft tops I own, so I am going to return it for an XXS. I would recommend sizing down.
Stiped ottoman midi skirt, denim jacket, white tshirt, Amazon sandals
I am loving this Kelly green and navy midi-skirt! It is made of a stretchy knit and is oh so comfortable (it’s also a pull on!!!). I ordered a blouse to go with the skirt, but the material didn’t look right with the ribbed fabric of the skirt, so I decided to dress it down with a basic white t-shirt and my go-to denim jacket. I think it makes for a great casual Friday outfit!
This is definitely a midi skirt. If you’re short like me (I’m 5’2), I recommend ordering in a petite. I’m wearing an XXS regular, but I should have gone with a petite size for the length (I rolled the skirt up once for the photos). Also, I’m wearing another pair of Amazon sandals! These sandals are more casual and look great with jeans, casual skirts, and dresses. I’m wearing a 5.5 which is TTS.
Amazon dress, denim jacket, Golden Goose sneakers
I wanted to show you all another great casual Friday option! You guys, this dress is from Amazon and it is SO comfortable. And you’re not going to believe this, but it’s ONLY $20.
I was nervous because t-shirt dresses usually make me look like I’m wearing a trash bag, but this one doesn’t at all! It drapes so nicely in all the right places and is forgiving around the tummy area (hallelujah!). The dress is cute on it’s own, but I added a denim jacket to make it look more complete. I splurged on a pair of Golden Goose sneakers last month and now I’m hooked. FYI: GG sneakers do not come in half sizes. Some reviews say to size up, others say to size down. I sized down to a 5 and they fit perfectly.
I originally purchased this shirt to wear with a midi skirt from Loft. The skirt was cute online, but the fit made me look like Anne of Green Gables so I decided to return it. I kept the shirt because I love the color and the cinched puff sleeves! This top is a great basic that looks good with any color of jeans or a skirt. I’m wearing an XS, but should have sized down to an XXS due to the length. The fabric is a soft knit and will wash well. I recommend laying flat to dry!
CONNER! Everything is sooooo cute! And as always, you look absolutely DARLING in every single outfit. And I’m glad you went out on a limb and tried some Amazon pieces. If I had to pick a favorite outfit from the post, I love the floral shirred neck blouse with the navy pants and heeled sandals, but the blush t-shirt dress with the denim jacket and GG sneakers is just about as good as you can get!
For those of you interested in the shoes in today’s post, here’s a close-up of all 3 pairs…
THANK YOU, CONNER! I know people are going to be SO HAPPY that you’re back!!!
CONNER’S DINING ROOM
And just because, I thought it would be fun to take a look at Conner’s new dining room! I sent her the olive tree and the basket the tree is in for a THANK YOU for doing this post (in addition to the gift card for the clothes of course!), but I thought y’all might enjoy seeing the entire room. Isn’t it beautiful?!?
LAST RESTOCK BEFORE SUMMER
And last, but not least…
The famous Risen jeans sold out AGAIN (2 weeks ago), but they are BACK TODAY at 9:00 am CST. And you can still use the code STMT10 for 10% OFF!!!!!! Hurry, before they are gone AGAIN. (I think they’ve sold out at least 6-7x now!)
But here’s the deal, this is the last restock before summer, so if you want them…GRAB THEM TODAY! They’re ONLY $69!
I’m wearing my regular size 27, but they strongly suggest sizing down 1 size. I read a lot of the reviews left on the site, and it does seem as if just about everybody needed to size down. My stomach is my problem area, so maybe that’s why I stuck with my regular size. I suggest taking the advice to size down.
They are described as mid-rise on the site, but since I have a non-existent torso, they fit higher on me. They are very stretchy, but they don’t sag…. and they are super comfortable. They are straight leg with some distressing, AND I LOVE THEM.
They are very on trend and super affordable, which is a great little combo. They’re awesome! Seriously get yourself a pair before they’re gone again! You can wear them with sneakers, mules, flats, booties, sandals, wedges, whatever!
This hooded sweatshirt comes in TONS of colors, and a lot of them are perfect for spring to style with light washed jeans, white jeans, or denim shorts. This one is very soft, and I love the neckline and front pocket. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
I mean, COME ON.
These jeans are fab.
This striped sweater is soft, comfy, and totally classic. It’s thin and lightweight, so it’s great for spring. I love the look with straight legged jeans, sneakers, and a ball cap! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
That’s all for now, y’all! See you back here on Wednesday!
