Conner’s Closet: WORK WEAR GUIDE #15

Today it’s time for the 15th installment of Conner’s Closet!!!  I can’t believe we’ve been doing this for over a year now! Thank you Conner for all of the incredible WORK WEAR ideas over the last year!!!

In case you are new here, Conner is my little sister, and she works in HR for a hospital system.  Here she is with her little guy, Brody (4 years old).  I MEAN.  HOW CUTE ARE THEY.  But lemme tell ya, don’t let this precious picture fool you.  That boy will give you a run for your money.  And so did his mama when she was little.  #sassy #karma  ????

Conner has 5 OFFICE APPROPRIATE outfits for you today, and all of them are AWESOME!  AND MANY OF THE ITEMS ARE ON SUPER SALE!  Conner’s thoughts are in italics.

Poppy shirred keyhole blouse and skinny cuffed Marisa pants

I can’t decide what I love more about this blouse – the poppy print, shirred shoulders, or the keyhole neckline. Isn’t it gorgeous? The long sleeves with button cuffs are perfect for the office. Whenever I added this blouse to my cart, I was planning on wearing it with black pants. I had no idea it was going to go perfectly with the red Marisa pants. I was practically giddy!

The red pants really take this outfit to the next level. I’ve worn it to work once, and no less than 5 people stopped me and asked me where I purchased the items.  The blouse is true to size (XXS regular) and the pants seem to run a tiny, tiny bit small. These pants are not the standard Marisa ankle pants – they’re SUPER skinny (which I LOVE) – so keep that in mind when placing your order. I don’t think you need to size up, but I may or may not have had to do a little dance when I took them off after work.  😉 Both items are machine washable, but I do not recommend drying!

And here I am in the same blouse with jeans.  I love that this top is perfect for the office (as evidenced above), but also dresses up a regular pair of jeans!  The colors are vibrant, and I think it’s just gorgeous.  I’m wearing a small, so I think it’s true to size as well.

Ruffle wrap skirt and ruffle utility blouse

Can you ever have too many ruffles? Nope, not in my opinion. I absolutely LOVE this wrap skirt and utility blouse.

Let’s start with the top – the mini floral print is to die for and the button cuffs are soooo cute! Full disclaimer: the print and the skirt are not matchy matchy…but the colors compliment each other and I love the combination!  AND it’s ON SALE, and then an additional 40% OFF!

Now on to the skirt.  First of all, it’s also ON SALE, and then an additional 40% OFF.  You guys, I’ve really come to love the pull on skirt. Yep, ANOTHER another pull on skirt #yourewelcome  The skirt is a really thick knit and super flattering. The model is wearing this outfit with boots on the loft website, but I love the look with my Steve Madden Carrson ankle strap heels. This outfit is great for the winter, but it will make the perfect transition into fall, too!  Both the skirt (XXS petite) and the top (XXS regular) are true to size and machine washable.

Ruffle utility blouse and skinny cuffed Marisa pants

WAIT. Wasn’t I just wearing this blouse with a BURGUNDY skirt? How is it possible I’m wearing it with RED pants? You guys, I’m telling you – this shirt is magic. It basically picks up whatever color you want it to. BAM. Need I say more?

Zip pocket tweed skirt and button sleeve sweater

If you know me, you know how much I LOVE tweed skirts, and this one may be my favorite…ever. I absolutely love the colors– they’re rainbow pastels so this will make a great transition piece for spring. And can we talk about those exposed zip pockets? I DIE!  It’s ON SALE, and then an additional 40% OFF!!!!

The skirt seems to run a little large, so you may need to size down. I didn’t want to distract from the skirt, so I decided to go with a basic black sweater to complete the outfit . The one I’m wearing has very subtle button detail on sleeves – just enough to make it a little interesting! The sweater is 100% cotton and machine washable. The skirt is also machine washable, but I recommend laying it flat to dry.

Botanical Dream Shift Dress

I really stepped outside of my comfort zone with this dress, and I’m so glad I did! I’m slowly but surely coming around on shift dresses. They typically make me look like I’m wearing a potato sack, but it’s impossible to resemble a potato sack wearing this dress – the print is SO FUN! This dress will also make the transition to spring.

I sized down to an XXS petite in this dress and it fits perfectly! The website says the dress is navy, but it’s practically black, so I decided to wear it with tights and boots. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! The dress is machine washable. I recommend turning it inside out and washing it in cold water on delicate.
