Conner’s Closet: WORK WEAR GUIDE #14

Okay, ladies.  So it’s Wednesday.  And I know The Bachelor premier was Monday night.  I mean, it’s Janu-ARIE for crying out loud.  😉  However, I’m so sorry to report that there is no recap today.  We watched bowl games together as a family on Monday night, Carter is still out of school, and we had an appointment with his orthopedist on Tuesday afternoon….so I knew there would be no way for me to get it done by today.   I’m soaking up ALL THE FAMILY TIME right now and loving every minute of it. That being said, I plan on having a short collection of thoughts on Friday Favorites this week, so make sure you come back for that!

So today it’s time for the 14th installment of Conner’s Closet!!!  I can’t believe we’ve been doing this for over a year now! Thank you Conner for all of the incredible WORK WEAR ideas over the last year!!!

In case you are new here, Conner is my little sister, and she works in HR for a hospital system.  Here she is with her little guy, Brody (4 years old).  I MEAN.  HOW CUTE ARE THEY.  But lemme tell ya, don’t let this precious picture fool you.  That boy will give you a run for your money.  And so did his mama when she was little.  #sassy #karma  ????

Conner has 4 outfits for you today, and all of them are AWESOME!  AND ALMOST EVERYTHING IS ON SUPER SALE!  Her thoughts are in italics.

OUTFIT #1:  Embroidered Pleated Skirt/ Ruffle Sweater /Molly Suede Wedges (similar with better stock HERE)

Helllllo ruffles!  How fabulous is this ruffle sweater and pleated skirt combination?!? I’ll be honest, this look was pulled right off of the Ann Taylor website. I just couldn’t resist! Sadly, the skirt is sold out in all but one size.  🙁

So let’s forget about the skirt, and let’s talk about the ruffle sweater (ON SALE FOR ONLY $28!!!!!).  I’ll be honest, I have it in black and scarlet lily…because it’s that awesome.  It was awesome at full price.  It’s FREAKING OUTSTANDING for $28!!!  This sweater also looks awesome with work pants and jeans making it my go-to sweater of the season! 

Also, how cute are these suede wedges?!? These wedges also come in leopard print, which you may recognize from my previous post. It can be hard to find wedges that look dressy enough for work, but after receiving the leopard ones, I knew I had to have the black pair, too!  These are almost out of stock now as well, but there’s a similar pair at Nordstrom HERE.

The sweater (XS regular), skirt (00 petite), and wedges (5.5) are true to size. The sweater is machine washable, but the skirt needs to go to the dry cleaners.

OUTFIT #2:  Floral Pencil Skirt/Pleated Cap Sleeve Top/Green Cardigan (comes in lots of colors!) / black tights / black heels

The pictures do not do this skirt justice – it is BEAUTIFUL in person.  AND IT’S ON SALE FOR ONLY $28 TOO!!! The print is very unique and the colors are so vibrant. This skirt will be a great winter to spring transition piece as well!  I purchased the gorgeous cap sleeve top and Ann cardigan to wear with the skirt and I love the combination. I really love the deep green color of the sweater because it picks up the green in the skirt.

If you don’t have an Ann cardigan, you definitely need to get one.  It comes in 8 colors, and some of them are ON SALE!  This green one is on sale for just $20!  I promise it will become a one of your favorite basics in your closet!   The skirt and cardigan are machine washable, but I recommend laying them flat to dry. The pleated cap sleeve top needs to go to the dry cleaners.  The skirt (00 petite), top (XXS regular), and cardigan (XXS regular) are all true to size.

OUTFIT #4:  Plaid Blouson Sleeve Dress / Molly Suede Wedges (similar with better stock HERE)

I knew I was going to love this dress the second I took it out of the package.   It definitely did not disappoint! AND IT’S NOW ON SALE FOR $32!!!  The dress has blouson sleeves and the cutest pleats around the V part of the neckline. It also has a hook-and-eye closure on the front keyhole that you can wear hooked or unhooked. I always wear it unhooked and it lays perfectly – no need to wear a tank underneath!   This dress is 95% polyester and 5% spandex, which gives it a little bit of stretch and makes it the perfect transition piece from winter to spring!

The dress is true to size (00 Petite) and machine washable. I recommend laying it flat or hanging it to dry.

Conner wanted to make sure you could see the pleated detail on the dress.  DARLING!!!

This dress looks adorable with tights and the suede Molly wedges, but it also looks awesome without tights! I am wearing these sandals to show you how well it would transition to Spring!

And some other things you need to know about…
Y’all.  These boots (that I have in black and ABSOLUTELY LOVE) went from 40% OFF to 50% OFF.  Meaning they are now $69.47.  WHOAH.

Also, 10:00 CST, AG will be on Hautelook!  Not sure what they will be featuring, but I’m excited to find out!  Hopefully they will have some of their jeans for seriously reduced prices!  And if the AG prices are still too much for your liking, remember you can often find a great selection of Articles of Society over at Nordstrom Rack that are between 40-50% OFF!
