Comfy and Casual – Day to Night

This whole week we’ve been talking about some special items and festive pieces that are meant to be worn when going out and celebrating!  It’s been fun to step out of my box a bit and highlight these special pieces.  I still have some more fun group shots and items that I’m excited to share with you tomorrow, but today I’ve teamed up with Bobeau to talk with y’all about some comfy and casual pieces. And you know comfy and casual is my everyday jam.

First up, I’ve got this long duster cardi.  It has a shawl collar and open front, and I think it would be great for any day, but especially on travel days.  It’s much more light weight than a blardigan, but you can still wrap up in it.  This will be really great for you taller girls.  I’m wearing a small, and it’s plenty big.  It also comes in a pretty blush color.

I styled all of the comfy looks today with these step hem jeans and my favorite slim profile UGG boots!

If I was forced to pick a favorite piece today, this cowl neck top would be it.  And it comes in plus size too!

I love this olive, but it comes in a pretty cream as well.  The asymmetrical hem makes the top interesting, as does the sturdy (yet still soft!) ribbed fabric.  For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

I love how the cowl neck is substantial, but not overwhelming.

Like I do with most tops, I will most likely wear this with a 1/2 tuck.  But for those of you that don’t like a front tuck, the asymmetrical hem makes the top fun and flattering when left out.

I was so comfy in this top when I wore it all day running around town doing errands…but you don’t have to only style it casually.  You can dress it up very easily!

Just throw on some black jeans, some black boots, and switch out the tote for a clutch!  And voila!   If the clutch looks familiar, it’s because I wore it as a cross body bag in New York! (Click HERE to see how I styled it on my NYC Girl’s Trip!)  It’s great both ways.

If you are a regular reader of my blog, then I guess you’ve figured out by now that these are my new favorite earrings.  I’ve been wearing them at least 3 days per week for awhile now.  I like them worn casually, I like them worn dressy, and I love that I can wear them all day without issues.  I’m typically sensitive to heavy earrings, but these don’t bother me.

And my sunglasses are new!  I got the tortoise, but they also come in black and have fantastic reviews.

This incredibly cozy off the shoulder sweater is another favorite.  And just like with the other outfits, I’m wearing it casually here with distressed jeans and Uggs.

You can wear it dramatically off the shoulder, or you can wear it more slouchy like I am here.   You could even style it more like a cowl neck.

It is crazy soft, and this color is gorgeous.  It also comes in a soft cream.

And once again, I wanted to show you how switching out the jeans and boots can easily elevate this top.  All of a sudden, I’ve got an outfit that’s ready for a night on the town!

I love this deep rich purple paired with the black and leopard.

If you don’t do a 1/2 tuck, it has a bit of a swingy fit.  I really like how it’s not clingy!  And if I pulled the shoulders down further, the fit would actually be quite a bit longer.

It has pockets, which is obviously a total score.

You can unbutton it and wear it open like a regular open front cardi.

But if you prefer it buttoned up, you can of course choose to only wear it that way.  I like the swingy fit and the asymmetrical buttons.
