It’s Wednesday, y’all!
And not only is it Wednesday, its THE LAST WEDNESDAY OF THE SCHOOL YEAR!
My goodness this year has absolutely flown by.
And I’m telling ya, we are ready for it to be over! We had a great year; HOWEVER, we are realllllllllly good at summer over here. And we are ready to summer HARD. Bring on the late nights, the late mornings, tons of trips to the ranch, and all the family time. WE THRIVE IN SUMMER!!!
Speaking of summer, I’ve got some really awesome summer outfits for y’all today! When I post each month with Walmart, I’m free to talk about whatever I’m loving at the moment, and this month it just so happened that my very favorite picks were all from the Free Assembly line, so that’s what I’m featuring today. I think you are all going to be absolutely impressed and totally WOWed by these pieces! You can check out the entire women’s line from Free Assembly HERE.
BOLD FLORAL DRESS
Let’s start off with a bang.
I love this dress.
In fact, I love it so much that I’m keeping it in 2 colors. Maybe even 3. Don’t judge.
Here’s how I’m rationalizing it: This style of dress is one that I know I’ll wear all the time, so 2 (maybe even 3) just makes sense for me. It’s science. Plus, I can get all 3 I want for under $100. So that’s just good math.
The dress is 100% cotton and 200% DARLING.
It’s a crisp cotton poplin and absolutely looks like it costs at least 4x more than it actually does. It’s very well made, and I feel like a million bucks in it.
The vibrant floral pattern (called “Tigerlily”) I’m wearing here mixes pinks, oranges, and creams for a beautifully bold look.
And you’re not even going to believe the price. Seriously. It’s crazy. And I’m telling you, I would pay over $100 for this dress without batting an eye. IT’S THAT GOOD.
The shift fit is my absolutely favorite fit in a dress, and I’m in love with square neck and the subtle puff sleeves. You can see here that the sleeves have a banded cuff that’s fitted, and that band is what keeps the sleeves from being overwhelming.
It’s runs quite large, so please keep that in mind when ordering. I’m in the XS, and there’s still plenty of room for me in the XS, so I would actually suggest sizing down 2 full sizes. Sadly, that means that those of you that are normally an XS will be swimming in this dress. If you’re teeny tiny, this dress probably won’t work for you.
I have these sunglasses in tortoise and in black, and they are my favorite sunglasses I’ve ever owned. I’ve had them for at least 3 years now, and I can’t recommend them enough. They are PERFECT travel sunglasses too, because if you lose them, no big deal!
The earrings are light as a feather and come in neutral, white, blue, yellow, orange, and purple. They are under $8!
I’ve dressed it up here with some block heel sandals (a super affordable option HERE), a clutch, and a fancy necklace!
And it would be just as cute dressed down with flat sandals and a big straw tote.
CLASSIC BLACK DRESS
So after ordering the above dress and falling in love, I immediately hopped online to see what other colors were available.
When I saw this classic black, I immediately added it to my cart.
It was the only sensible thing to do.
I might have ordered it in green too. #allegedly #okayidid
Nobody will ever even know that I’m wearing the same dress, because they look so different!
I do want to give you a heads up that the banded cuffs on this black dress are more fitted than the cuffs on the floral one or the green one. (I’m not sure if all black dresses are going to have more fitted sleeves, or if mine is just a one off.)
This is a really great dress, y’all. Remember, size down 2 full sizes! I’m in the x-small. #andiamnotandneverwillbeanextrasmall
I know I’m going to wear the heck out of it.
PLAID TOP AND BEACHY DENIM SHORTS
Okay, we’re going to switch gears for a minute and talk about a casual summer top and some beachy denim shorts.
This puff sleeve top is adorable. It has a very similar fit as the dress as far as the square neck, puff sleeves, and banded cuffs go. It’s also 100% cotton with a relaxed fit. However, I don’t think it runs nearly as big. In fact, I think it’s pretty true to size. I’m wearing an x-small in the dress, but I’m wearing a medium in this top.
The colors and the plaid are very fresh and just scream summer. I’m obviously wearing it here with some light wash denim shorts, but it would also look great with white denim.
For $22 this top is a total steal.
Okay, now it’s time to talk about these denim shorts.
Because they totally deserve a moment.
They are a pair of longer denim shorts (these have an 8″ inseam!), but they are made cool and modern with the distressing and the wash. They have a total beach vibe, and I dig it. They do have a tiny bit of stretch to them, but here I sized up 2 sizes. I will say, after wearing them a bit, I wish I would have only sized up 1 size.
Just a fun and easy summer look!
SQUARE NECK MAXI DRESS
Next up from the Free Assembly line, this square neck maxi dress.
Here’s what Walmart has to say about it…
Here it is, your new go-to dress for the season—the one you will reach for on the reg because it works everywhere, no matter what your plans. Free Assembly’s Maxi Dress features a flattering square neckline, tiered, flowing skirt, and covered elastic straps with ruching. This dress captures the ease of the season—just slip it on and out the door you go.
Well said, Walmart!
Y’all know me. I like to have my upper arms covered, but there’s no denying that this dress is darling without a jacket on top. Look at the elastic straps! Look at the fitted bodice! Look at the tiered skirt! It’s all crazy cute. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
I know most of you will wear this without a layer on top.
But still, go ahead and hand me a denim jacket to throw on top. #pleaseandthankyou
Again, this dress both looks and feels way more expensive than its $39 price tag. I promise you that you will be seriously impressed by the quality and construction. It also comes in a sunshine yellow, a beautiful Kelly green, a pale pink, and a blush and yellow stripe. There’s something for everybody!
STRIPED TUNIC TOP AND HEART TOTE
This oversized tunic top, also from the Free Assembly line, reminds me of a certain favorite top of mine that is currently in my closet that I paid $78 for! It’s lightweight with a super relaxed fit, and I love the color combo of white, mustard, and light pink! It’s kind of retro! For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
The earrings are the perfect pink for this shirt, and they have the cute little graduated ball drop.
My heart tote is fantastic and is an absolutely incredible deal. LADIES! It’s ONLY $29.99! Carry it as an everyday bag or carry it to the beach. Just carry it! Click HERE for the $136 heart tote from Nordstrom to compare. I’m going to be honest, I think my $30 tote is MUCH cuter!
So what do you think about the brand? I mean, you’re super impressed, right? The clothes are undeniably DARLING! Don’t you want to give them a try for yourself?!? You can also shop Free Assembly for men HERE and Free Assembly for kids HERE.
In addition to Free Assembly, I’m also constantly searching Scoop (dying over this pink and red striped polo) and Time and Tru (I just ordered this striped maxi and it’s awesome). I know that there are some of you that still haven’t tried Walmart fashion yet, but I’m here to tell you, YOU SHOULD! So many of the pieces in my closet that I find myself reaching for again and again are from my favorite Walmart brands!
A huge thank you to Walmart for the super affordable and on trend pieces and for sponsoring this post.
