BACK TO BASICS!
I already have several posts in mind where the outfits will be created by simply pairing up lots of simple and basic pieces together.
These “Back To Basic” outfits will be made out of pieces that everybody should (and probably does) already have in their closets
But if you are missing one of the basics, don’t worry, I will have sources like always. 😉
So, Outfit #1 is a SUPER simple outfit…
minus the fedora…
because I would look ridiculous in a fedora.

BLACK TEE + JEANS + CONVERSE + GOLD JEWELRY + COGNAC BAG
All super simple basics, but still a really great look.
And the gold jewelry adds a little bit of flare to an otherwise plain outfit.

And I know I left the sunglasses out of the picture above, so here are some options.
Some SERIOUSLY CHEAP options!!!
metal aviators HERE for $12! / I can’t find these exact glasses, but lots of inexpensive
options HERE.
And I tried on some necklaces too. Just because they were sitting right there by the sunglasses, and I couldn’t help myself.
brass fringe leaf pendant HERE / tribal bib not yet available online/
silver/turquoise ladder pendant HERE
And a scarf (click HERE).
It’s infinity, brightly colored, has a paisley pattern, AND HAS TASSELS.
I featured this on facebook a couple of weeks ago, but it sold out immediately. Great news that it’s back in stock!
And one last thing before you go….
While at the mall last Friday, I saw some Sam Edelman wedges that I’d never seen before.
The wedge is only 2 3/4″, so this could be the wedge for all of you tall girls out there that have been asking for short wedge recommendations!
(Pay no attention to the weird lines on my feet. They had been in converse all day long and had indentations on them because of that.)
But I tried them on and found them to be true to size. And I didn’t have them on for long at all, but they seemed to be quite comfortable! For $59.95 they might be worth the risk to some of you!
Here’s a sneak peek of just some of the goods I highlight in the post:

I just ordered the BP crystal necklace, but I had to look up the link in another post. You might want to add a link in this post. Thanks for letting us know it was in stock again– I missed it last time. Have a great day and thanks for all you do!

Hi Peggy! It is linked where it says "$18 necklace", but I went and added a "click HERE" link in case that's more user friendly for some! Thanks! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

My first reply here got deleted… I think. I don't know what happened. Anyway, I was saying that I love your idea of the "back to basics" series because I need some new ideas! I have a tendency to buy things that go with nothing else I own – I just buy them because I like them. I do own basics, though… so am looking forward to some inspiration!
Hope you had a nice Mother's Day weekend!

I was just about to order all of the shorts that I had been wanting–and I entered the code and it had expired…ugh! I didn't pay attention to the time it was ending. Geeze. Anyway, have you seen the Callisto wedges that look similar to the Sam Edelman's that you featured today? I was in Boston a few weeks ago and stopped by the Nordstrom (we don't have one where I live) and looked for them and they didn't have them. There are mixed reviews online so I was wondering if anyone had actually tried them on?? They look really cute! And if they are as comfy as the "must-have wedges" then..well I'm sold! 🙂 Happy Monday Sheaffer!

My TJ Maxx/Marshall's up here in MN has some Calista brand slides like these and they are only $29!! May want to check them out! I didn't try them on so I can't speak to their comfy level but I saw them on my last trip there and wanted to share!
Sheaffer says
Hi Sabrina! I tried them on at the store last year, and I didn't like them at all. 🙁 They were stiff an uncomfortable…not anything like our beloved Tiara wedges! Sorry I don't have better news! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

Great new series…it's nice to be able to throw together something easy, but still look adorable. You've nailed adorable.

I'm all about the basics! Can't wait to see more!

Ok so I am one of those tall girls that is struggling with the height of so many pairs of the adorable wedges out there. I wept when I saw the height of the leopard Uggs. I just can't wear them, if I trip or fall its a LONG way down. But I found these Kork Ease Austin cognac colored wedges on Nordstrom that aren't too tall but still tall enough to make for a great wedg.e And they have a cushioned footbed and I am in love. A tall girl MUST HAVE!!
Sheaffer says
Hi Michelle! Such a great tip!!!!!!!! All of the tall girls will be so appreciative! I would love it if you would send me a picture of yourself in the wedges! People love to see the items on actual people!!!! If you wouldn't mind, send the pic to pinteresttoldmeto@yahoo.com

I love this new series! I have all of these basics in my closet (even the fedora, which I too, have never worn – seemed like a good idea at the time of purchase – ha ha). I have tons of basics in my closet but need new ideas on how to wear them so they won't seem so "basic"! I look forward to more posts like this one!!!
