April Top 12 — Sheaffer Told Me To

Today’s post is one of my favorite posts each and every month. Today I’m going to share your Top 12 picks from April.

Not surprisingly, many of y’alls Top 12 picks are in my top picks for the month as well. All of the items I’m featuring today are items that I added to my own closet or makeup drawer (or already owned), and because of that they are items that you will continue to see on the blog as long as they are in stock.

The picks that made this month’s top list are from Nordstrom, Amazon, Walmart, and Colleen Rothschild. And great news, 10 of the items are under $100 and some are under $50.

1) split-neck blouse / My very favorite find of the month, and one of my Top 3 finds of the year thus far is this DARLING split neck blouse. LOOK HOW CUTE IT IS!!! Grab it in a solid, grab it in a print, or maybe even grab it in both!

The details are incredible (split neck, embroidery on placket, and gathered and ruffled sleeves), and the fit is perfection. I live for a split neck (it’s the most flattering on me with my short neck) and my favorite sleeve length is past the biggest part of the arm, but above the elbow. ALL THE BOXES ARE CHECKED!

It’s a cotton blend that’s soft to the touch, and it has a cotton poplin feel. And although it’s soft, it’s kind of crisp too, but not too crisp! #justtheperfectamountofcrisp

There’s not much stretch, but the fit is roomy. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. If you’re between sizes, I would suggest sizing down in this top for sure.

I love the color combo of the pink and orange, but it’s almost sold out. 🙁 The blue and white combo seems to be better stocked, and the neutral and black pattern options would be great paired with black slacks or a pencil skirt for the office.

3) eltaMD sunscreen / This is a repeat order on Amazon that I’m assuming I will repeat for the rest of my life. So here’s the deal with sunscreen… I used to only wear it when I knew I was going to be in the sun for a bit (like at the pool, at a baseball game, at a park, etc). On all other days, I would just assume that the SPF15 in my moisturizer was going to do the trick. That all changed after I got IPL from the dermatologist. After spending a pretty penny on using IPL to treat the hyperpigmented spots on my face (and being pleased with the results!), I’m now super vigilant about putting sunscreen on every single day. This one was recommended to me by my dermatologist, and I love it. It goes on beautifully, isn’t greasy at all, and my makeup goes right on top of it very easily.

It’s great for sensitive skin, won’t irritate your eyes, and has over 40,000 reviews (with the overwhelming majority being 5 STARS).

4) tray/bowl / Did you see my pantry post? I got lots of great feedback from y’all, and it seems it inspired many of you to try to get your own pantries in shape. I love that!

On the bottom shelf, these acacia wood “oval” bowls look really great, and they would actually look great in several places in your home. In a bookshelf, on a coffee table, on your kitchen island, and the list goes on and on!

6) raffia sandals / I’m completely smitten with these raffia sandals. The texture! The buckle! The scalloped edge! It’s all soooo good! True to size for me. They also come in a neutral, a Robin’s egg blue, and a gorgeous orange. The names don’t do the colors justice, you need to click over to see them.

They are so stylish and so comfortable. The raffia detail coupled with the buckle is such a fun combination.

7) mid rise flare jeans / These mid-rise flare jeans have mixed reviews online, but I happen to think they’re awesome. They’ve got a slight flare leg, which is totally on trend, and I love the wash and the length. I’m 5’4″ with long legs for my height (and no torso! ha!). They are a shorter ankle length on the model, but they are longer on me. I like this length on me, but I think they’d be cute shorter too. They are a mid-rise, and I think they fit like a trouser jean up top with how the waistband and pockets are placed. I rarely find myself reaching for skinny jeans anymore, and I can now confidently say that I’ve fully embraced straight leg, flare leg, and boot cut options. I sized up to a 6 in these jeans for a relaxed feel.

I’m completely smitten with the top too. It’s a super soft cotton gauze, and I love the feminine detailing of the lace across the chest, the billowy sleeves, and the dainty little buttons. It’s easy, breezy, and my idea of a perfect spring and summer top. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

This floral cotton blouse is incredibly charming. The blue and white floral pattern is so pretty, and y’all know I love a split neck.

I’m totally digging the boho vibes of this smocked yoke top. I love the split neck, the embroidery, the relaxed cut, and the swingy fit. I think it looks great worn out or with a half tuck. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

8) split-neck blouse / Did you love blouse #1, but you would prefer it in a solid color vs a pattern? If you’re not a pattern girly, then consider grabbing it in one of the solids offered: this summer mustard color or the white (which you’ll see next).

The white is so clean and crisp, and pairing it with the orange and pink striped clutch was a total no brainer. This top could also be dressed down with ankle jeans and sneakers.

9) wedges / These wedges ARE FABULOUS. The platform wedge gives some serious height, but I love that I don’t have to sacrifice comfort for the added inches. They are incredibly comfortable and very easy to walk in. I also love that the strap is adjustable, but it has enough stretch in it that you don’t have to unbuckle and re-buckle them to get them on and off. Just slip them on!

True to size for me. they also come in black and ivory.

12) smocked dress / I’ve gotta say, this smocked dress might be one of my favorite Amazon finds EVER. I’m wearing the “greygreen” and think this colorway is absolutely stunning. It has flutter sleeves, a smocked body, and a flowy skirt. The “tangerine” option is my other favorite color. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

I’ve got a large chest and don’t always love how smocking highlights that, but I will definitely be wearing this styled with a great denim jacket.
