Well, it’s Monday. And it’s the last Monday before school starts. Which makes me want to bawl my head off.
HOW. WHEN. WHY.
I mean, I don’t have it in me to be a home school mama (high five to all of you that do it!), but I LOVE summer because I like the little guy being around. Still, I don’t like him being around enough to take on the responsibility of teaching him ALL THE THINGS, so off to school he goes.

I know lots of you mamas are sending your kiddos back to school this week too, although I’m imagining that some of you might be skipping all the way to the building on that first day. But hey, I fully realize it’s easier to enjoy the idea of a never ending Summer when I’ve only got 1 kid at home. Hats off to all of you mamas out there that ROCKED the summer with more than 1 kid.
ANYHOO.
In honor of the first week of school, I’m highlighting a dress that would be great in just about everybody’s closet…..but it would be really great in a teacher’s closet. In fact, it should probably be deemed necessary. It’s easy to throw on, it looks professional, it’s an appropriate length, and it’s very affordable!
And I’m showing it 2 ways today!
*FYI: I had such a great response to my Target post last month, so I wanted to do another one this month. This is NOT sponsored, but the majority of the links today are Target. I’ve received lots of feedback from y’all that you like it when I feature 1 main retailer in a post since it makes it easier to recreate the entire outfit without having to place orders from several different stores.*

LOOK #1
With teachers in mind, both looks today are worn with flat slide sandals, but I’ve also worn the dress with these wedges and my must have wedges for a dressier look.
The dress comes in black, a wine color, and a mustard. All 3 colors are great now, but they are Fall perfection.
It has 63 reviews, and almost every single one of them is 5 stars, so I’m not the only fan. It skims the body, but doesn’t cling at all. It’s a nice relaxed fit, so it’s very comfortable.
AND Y’ALL. It’s UNDER $30.
ONE MORE THING.
IT HAS POCKETS.
For size reference, I’m wearing a small. It’s a little roomy, but if I would have sized down (like some recommend), I think it would have pulled in the back.
dress / earrings/ necklace / bracelet set / clutch / black slide sandals
This is such an easy dress to just throw on and go, while still looking totally put together. I think the little tab button sleeves are such a nice detail, I love the neckline, and the rounded hem finishes off the look.
Also, I’m not a belt with dresses girl (since I never want to highlight my waist), but if you have a small waist, I think it would also look great with a belt!
I’m styling it with slide sandals today just to make it comfy for ALL DAY ON YOUR FEET WEAR. #imlookingatyouteachers These sandals have great reviews and they come in leopard too (other colors sold out). And they’re 20% OFF!
Target is killing it with their shoes lately and I’m also loving these leopard or snake skin sandals as well as these mules, which would totally help you transition this dress to Fall.
In addition to sandals, this dress would look great with wedges, with booties (lots of cute choices HERE that are 20% OFF), and with flats (check these out for 20% OFF too)!

I love all of the accessories I’m featuring today.

I haven’t had any issues with quality, although the only review for this necklace isn’t good. I’ve worn mine several times without any trouble.
The clutch is darling. The end.

I’m OBSESSED with the earrings. In fact, I’m so obsessed that I’m about to buy a 2nd pair because I’ve somehow misplaced the first pair. They are probably somewhere in a clutch or make up bag, but I’ve looked EVERYWHERE and can’t find them. I like them enough to not even think twice about buying them again because they are ONLY $7.99, and I’ve wanted to wear them twice this week! They aren’t shiny, and are actually more of like a brushed bronze, which I love. They come in matte silver too.

For Look #2, I just changed up a couple of simple things.
I switched out the black sandals for the exact same sandals, but in brown. I also changed my jewelry and my bag.

You know, I think this dress would also be SUPER CUTE with the right pair of sneakers (how cute are these Golden Goose dupes) and maybe a denim jacket (click HERE for my favorite)! Click HERE for the real thing if you aren’t familiar with Golden Goose. They are PRICEY!
You first saw the bracelet set and the bag in my Style It Again post last month, and they were great for this look too. The set comes with 4 bracelets, but I recommend picking up 2 stacks so you can have 8 bracelets total. Pile ’em on people!
The wooden handles and the cream macrame on the bag are a little bit funky and retro. It’s fun, very well made, and adds a lot of personality to an outfit.

This is a great necklace. And although I’m not typically a matchy matchy girl when it comes to accessories, I love that the beads match on this necklace and the earrings. It makes a really pretty set, and I think it works since although they have the same stones and colors, they are different shapes.

Target does it again, y’all! THIS DRESS is definitely a winner! Can’t you see yourself wearing it for lots of different occasions? You simply can’t beat it for under $30!
And although I haven’t seen it in person, I’m dying over THIS DRESS too!
And THIS BLOUSE is incredibly chic! Looks at the tie neck and the detail on the sleeves. I would love it with jeans, but it would also be perfect with a nice pair of black pants for the office.
Well, I’m off to enjoy my last 3 days of summer with my boy! Hope y’all are enjoying the last days too.

Hi, Sheaffer! I’m a 3rd grade teacher, and i just wanted to leave a quick comment to say that you are 100% correct about this dress. I bought it in black on a whim a couple of weeks ago (when grocery shopping! hahaha!), and now I own all 3 colors. It truly is an amazing dress and perfect for this teacher. I’m actually wearing it on the first day of school. I love it so much, but I was still excited to see the Sheaffer seal of approval this morning! Thanks for all that you do!
Sheaffer says
Hey, Amanda! Well, I’m happy to get YOUR seal of approval! Thanks for the sweet words and for reading! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

I tried this dress on and unfortunately it didn’t work for me ? The medium was too loose and the small was too short (I’m 5’8”). It’s super cute though, I wish it had worked! Thanks for all the outfit ideas, I’ve been reading for years!

I DO homeschool my kids and I’m still bawling my head off that summer is over! Haha. :).

A friend was wearing the wine colored one a couple of weeks ago and it was so cute. I ordered it on Saturday since it was tax-free weekend. Can’t wait to get it!
BF says
Hello! I’m also a homeschool mom and I agree, I’m still bawling that summer is over!! I’m totally NOT ready for schedules, commitments, school work, structure, etc etc. Good thing we have a month left before we “officially” start! Sept 9 🙂

I have this one and the wine colored one. Love them both and I’m spending WAY too much right now at target. UGH, I need to stay out of there, because they really are killing it with all the new fall items.

I love the accessories you chose for it!

Oh dear… I just washed mine and put it in the drier, low. It came out a crumpled, wrinkly mess. I refuse to even own an iron… what has everyone’s experience been after washing/drying?
Sheaffer says
Oh no! I dry cleaned mine….but I dry clean a lot of stuff. Has anybody washed theirs with a better experience? I would think maybe just pop in the dryer for like 5 minutes and then hang to dry the rest of the way?
