2 Early Fall Outfits

Today I have 2 outfits for you that are perfect for early Fall. These outfits are both DARLING, and they are both made up of individual pieces that I highly recommend. If these outfits look familiar, it’s because you saw them earlier this week on my Fall Outfit Planning post!

OUTFIT #1

I. LOVE. THIS. OUTFIT.

And even though it screams fall because of the colors and patterns, you can definitely wear it right now and still manage to not have a heat stroke!  If you want to lighten it up a bit more, you could switch out these cognac booties for a peep toe bootie or wedge.  If you need inspiration, check out this neutral wedge from Marc Fisher that is 40% OFF!  Awesome deal!

Let’s first talk about this navy floral blouse.   As I said on Wednesday, I can guarantee you I wouldn’t have given it a second look if I would have seen it online, because it looks ill fitting.  Luckily, I saw it in store and scooped it right up.  You can wear it out, but I prefer a half tuck.  For size reference, I’m wearing my typical small.

In real life, I think it’s very flattering! The cut of the blouse is feminine with fluttery sleeves and a v in both the front and the back.  The back is also shirred and drapes beautifully.  And the color and the pattern are both gorgeous.

And the leopard belt?  Well, it’s a necessity for fall.  Plain and simple.   It really is the perfect way to just subtly introduce leopard in to your wardrobe.  And I think this outfit shows that you don’t have to just pair it with solid colors.  I really love the two prints together!

I think the top looks great with this dark denim, but it will look just as great dressed up a tiny bit more with my favorite black jeans (also Wit and Wisdom).

I’ll also be wearing it with my favorite black slacks (hopefully still $30 off right now!) to church, and it would also look great paired with a pencil skirt (this one is under $70 and has great reviews) for the office.

And let’s have a moment over these gold statement earrings.  They are big, they are bold, and they go with everything.  They are maybe a tiny bit on the heavy side for those of you that are really sensitive to that, but I can wear them all day long (and really heavy earrings give me headaches).  I got the gold, but they also come in silver and rose gold.

So, the bag.   I’ve been on the look for a great cognac tote for awhile now.

I’ve had this raw leather tote for a couple of years that I absolutely adore, but many of you expressed interest in a recommendation for something smaller. So, I’ve ordered several….but until yesterday I hadn’t found any that I was in love with.   But just yesterday at the mall, this Madwell tote/crossbody caught my eye.  It’s a great size, it has a zipper, and I love the cross body option. They only had it in black in store, but I hopped online and ordered it in cognac right when I got home and did next day shipping.  It’s scheduled to arrive today!  I’ll of course share my thoughts on it when it arrives!  (The specific bag below is sold out, but you can check out others from the same maker.)

And I of course am O.B.S.E.S.S.E.D. with the jeans , but we’ll get to them in the next outfit.  It’s hard to see in this pic, but I’m wearing my favorite platinum drusy bracelet (that I’ve been wearing for 3 years straight now), and it’s $20 off right now!

Now, while this feature is AMAZING and GENIUS, you have to keep in mind that there are some things that will sell out before they ever go on sale.  Especially in popular sizes.  HOWEVER, I know there are some things that aren’t worth it to you at full price, but they might be worth it for the sale price.  So, here’s my advice:  use this feature for sure, but use it with the knowledge that you might miss out on something.  Just weigh your need for it before deciding if you want to “risk” waiting for it to go on sale!

OUTFIT #2

The combo of the wine, leopard, cognac, and gold in this outfit is so pretty to me.  This outfit is perfect for a girl’s night out or date night with your man.  And again, even though this outfit is all sorts of fall, you can still wear it in hotter temps and somehow manage to stay cool.

This top is just so much fun.  The website calls it “red tannin”, but this top is not at all red.  It’s definitely a “wine” or a “plum” for those that were confused by the name of it on the site.

Now before you buy this top, it’s important to know that both the bottom of the sleeves and the bottom of the waist are elasticized.  I absolutely love the fit (it hangs so beautifully!), but if certain sleeves are often too tight on you, you need to be aware that the sleeves are definitely snug.

Also, it can definitely be worn off the shoulder if you want to sass it up even more!  And even wearing it on the shoulder, I did wear my favorite strapless bra with it so I wouldn’t have to ever worry about bra straps peeking out.  (If you’re new to the blog, I feel the need to promise you that this bra is the best strapless bra in the world.  I even wear it sometimes when I don’t have to wear a strapless.  YES, it’s THAT comfy.)

Doesn’t the outfit just make you want to go grab a cocktail with your besties?

Now, we have to talk about the FABULOUS accessories.

The sunglasses are ONLY $12 right now.  I love the tortoise shell frames and the sleek metallic arms.

BUT Y’ALL.  THESE EARRINGS.   So incredibly light and so gorgeous, but fair warning…don’t wear them unless you are prepared to receive compliments from strangers. Seriously.  I opted for this wine color, but they also come in a beautiful neutral palette, a stunning turquoise, and a fantastic multi color option!

And this leopard clutch?   Well, leopard is huge for Fall, and I totally consider it a neutral.  However, if you aren’t on board with the whole “leopard is a neutral” mentality :), this clutch is a great way to start sneaking the animal print in to your outfits.  (DANGIT!  The clutch is sold out too!  Click HERE for a nice option.)

Okay,the jeans.  They suck you in and hug you in all the right places, but they are comfy as can be.  And I know I say this every single time I talk about them…but they actually make you appear taller and skinnier (than you already are).  #winkwink #coughcough

I wear my regular 4s in them (I’m almost 5’4″ and wear a heeled bootie), but I would definitely size down if between sizes.  I think I could wear the 2, but the 4s are so comfy that I just stick with them.  Ha!

Yep, all I need is my hubby or some girlfriends, a cocktail, and a patio.

BONUS OUTFIT #3

I decided to give y’all a BONUS outfit today, just in case you wanted to see a pair of currently available Wit and Wisdom jeans (because of course you do).  These are the ankle skinny jeans I fell in love with!  Maybe these will be your gateway jean?!?

I went with the 4P (I’m 5’4″) because I wanted them to be perfect for booties, and I like when a tiny bit of skin peeks out from in between the top of the boot and the bottom hem of your jeans. I also love how ankle length jeans tuck into tall boots very easily, without a lot of extra fabric to deal with.

They are soft, stretchy, and hug you in all the right places.  I’m wearing my regular small in the sweater and it’s still quite roomy, so size down if you don’t want it quite so relaxed.
