OKAY.  BACK TO REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAMMING.

So I saw this picture, and I did NOT love it.
And I know you don’t like it either.
Cuz let’s be honest, it looks a little 1992.  Right?
And it doesn’t just look like 1992.  It looks like a bad 1992.
I think it’s the pearls.
And possibly the cream bag WITH THE SATIN BOW.
No ma’m. 

Anyhoo.
I immediately thought of things I already had in my closet that could work for this look.
Things that DID NOT look like they were straight out of the 90s.
coral shirt?  CHECK
distressed skinny jeans?  CHECK
colorful wedges?  CHECK
So in the words of every American Idol judge, I took the look…..but I made it my own.

I just gave it some little updates.
The main substitutions I made follow:
*I wore simple and classic gold jewelry instead of the cheapy looking pearls.

I carried a simple neutral bag.

I’m sorry that my long necklace is no longer in stock (it’s like 5 years old), but I am head over heels for my first 2 pieces I’ve ever owned from Gorjana and Griffin.  I say first 2 pieces, because I feel like it’s just the beginning of my love affair  with their brand (especially since a little birdie told me they are going to be announcing a Nordstrom collaboration very soon).

I really loved this outfit, and although it was very simple, I felt super put-together.
I don’t know how well you can see the earrings and the short necklace.  But I love them.
The earrings aren’t regular hoops.  They are circles, so I feel like they are more “current” and definitely more noticeable.
And the fatima necklace?  I’m a big ol’ fan.  It’s delicate and LOVELY.
I told you that you were going to start seeing a lot of these wedges.

So, I’ve received some good feedback from you girls about the collages that I’ve been doing that are interactive.  I would say that 90% of you LOVE them and say they make finding things so easy.  However, about 10% of you say that you are unable to get the links to work.
So, I thought I would try another way today.  
I’ve used this tool before but not really in this way to basically just highlight pieces (or similar pieces) in an outfit. 
 Just scroll through these outfit pieces and click on what you’re interested in.

I spent 30 minutes searching “sandal wedges” online at Target, Old Navy, Macy’s, Anthropologie, and JC Penny’s.  I wanted to try to give plenty of options and brands.  And I came up with nothing.

    Beautiful as always! I just bought a pair of wedges and, like you said a while ago, tall and skinny? I'm in! As far as the posts, I think I like the collages best. It's larger and easier to see what the entire outfit would look like all together. 🙂

    Love seeing all these wedges. I haven't been a wedge/high heel person since before I had my kiddos. Then I automatically turned into a flats and sandals person overnight. I only turned it around THIS season thanks to your INSISTENCE that we must try some wedges. Now I have two new pairs that I am loving to wear to work and whenever I want to look "cute" and "taller" (which is a win for me since I'm 5'4. It was nice to see a mix of flats and sandals in the post as well…since those are still my "go to" most days. As for the collage tool versus the way you did it today…I prefer the way it was in today's post for some reason…not sure why, but I just found it to be very easy and I like scrolling through. I would definitely use that option. I think the collages are CUTE but don't use the "tool" on them as much. They are great visually, but the scrolling thingy was great for quick shopping (although I do read through your posts as well b/c half the fun is your wit!!). Anyway, thanks for asking for our opinions and as always, for all the time you put into these fun posts!

    Love the new handy dandy little tool! Works great for me!
    Now about your wedges-I know you said they are tall, but my question is; a lot taller than the must have wedges or just a little??? I'm already tall and the must have wedges are perfect, but I wouldn't want to do much more than that. BUT I love the leopard print wedges featured today!!!

      Hey April! I think they are only a hair taller than the MUST HAVE wedges. I would measure them, but I don't think that really matters. I think it depends on where the wedge hits you, not how tall the wedge is when not being worn. Does that make sense? Anyway, just a little bit taller! Hope that's as clear as mud. 🙂

    Hey Sheaffer! Love the blog – I am trying to cut back on my shopping, but still love checking in for your ideas about how to stay updated. Speaking of wedge sandals (from your post above)…I was wondering if you've had a chance to check out the TOMS wedge sandals (the tall ones and the lower heel)? I bought the wedge booties at Christmastime on your recommendation and ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM…just wondering if the sandals are similar? My husband and I are taking a trip to Europe in a few weeks and I'm looking for a pair of cute wedge sandals that will be nice enough to keep me from looking like a tennis shoe clad tourist while also being comfortable enough to walk 4-6 miles a day in. Do you think the TOMS' would be comfy enough for that? I'd love to actually see them on someone and styled a little bit too… 😉

      Hi Lisa! I've actually heard from several people that the TOMS sandal wedges aren't nearly as comfy as the slips-ons or the wedge booties. If anybody reading has a pair, please feel free to comment!
