WHAT WE ARE EATING
Instead of telling y’all what we are eating this week, I’m just going to share some random favorites I’ve eaten recently.
Let me start out by saying that if you haven’t eaten at a Nordstrom restaurant, you are missing out.
Yesterday I met my dad for lunch, and we split the pepperoni pizza (and added mushrooms). It was literally one of the very best pizzas of my life.

One of my absolute favorite dishes that I always order at Nordstrom are these mini cilantro lime chicken tacos. The shells are ultra crispy, the ground chicken is so flavorful, and the dressing and toppings are chef’s kiss. You can’t really tell in this picture, but they are so tiny and cute.

If you’re local, I highly recommend Cajun Fish Grill (at the Hardin and Eldorado intersection behind the Sonic). The seafood is legit. I’m obsessed with their clam chowder, my boys love their fried shrimp baskets, and I love their grilled platters. And I’m telling you, you have never tasted zucchini as delicious as this grilled zucchini.

This is a meal that Carter and I eat once every couple of weeks.
I air fry the salmon with Magic Salmon Seasoning for like 7 minutes, I sauté the fresh green beans in olive oil and my favorite seasoning blend (kosher salt, pepper, lemon pepper, and garlic powder), and then I microwave a packet of Trader Joe’s jasmine rice. It comes out perfect every time! Oh, and the whole family is obsessed with the Japanese Barbecue Sauce. We usually buy it at Costco in really big bottles, but we were out of it and not planning on going to Costco for a bit, so I paid a lot more for it HERE on Amazon.

I eat a lot of salads for lunch, and my current favorite combo includes these 3 ingredients: Texas Toast CAESAR croutons, Marinated Artichoke Hearts from Trader Joe’s, and Ken’s Lite Blue Cheese Dressing.

In addition to the above, this salad also has mixed greens, fresh grilled corn, cherry tomatoes, and avocado.

WHAT I’M WORKING ON
I’m working on putting a collage together of UNDER $50 spring finds that I hope that will go live on Monday. I just found this t-shirt dress from Old Navy for under $20. I think the navy stripe is so cute!

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO
Most of the time that we go to the ranch we have friends and family with us, but over President’s Day weekend we went with just the three of us. We love having a full house, but it sure is nice to just go and have a super relaxing weekend too. This was the only picture we took. It was at the end of our driveway after taking Charlie on a little walk.

What else have we been up to? Soccer. Lots and lots of soccer.
This guy has been playing the best soccer of his life, and I can’t believe I’m saying this but there are only 4 games left in the season. We’ve already played 20 games, and we’ve been having the best time watching our guy do his thing.

WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT
The Pottery Barn at Stonebriar Mall closed, which made me really sad. I always loved popping in there and picking up seasonal pillow covers and small decorative items.
BUT OMG. I went to Northpark this week and couldn’t believe how big and beautiful the Pottery Barn is there. (I guess it’s been a bit since I’ve actually walked around Northpark because there were tons of new stores since the last time I was there.)

I mean, look at this place!

I walked out of there wanting to burn my house to the ground and just start fresh. Just kidding. Kind of.

WHAT I’M WATCHING
When we were coming home from Savannah, we were at the airport waiting to board our plane when I heard Shay mention to one of our friends that she should watch Homeland. She went on and on about how good it was, and even though I wasn’t even part of the conversation, I started watching it the next day.
AND WOWZA. I became hooked. The first two seasons had me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t believe the twists and turns it took. I was always guessing, and I was often wrong, but I loved that it was always able to surprise me!
There’s 8 seasons, so I know it’s quite an undertaking, but I’m happy to be on the Homeland ride!

WHAT I’M WEARING / SHOPPING FOR
How about a button down with some serious flare? This blouse has a swingy fit, a classic collar, and a slightly cropped length. The contrasting black really pops against the creamy white. It’s darling. It could definitely be dressed up for the office or even a night out on the town. But I think this could also look great with regular denim and some black flats. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. I will say that this runs a bit tight across the bust, so keep that in mind if ordering.

How flipping cute is this rugby stripe sweater. And it’s ON SALE! The wide stripes, the collared neckline, and the color combo left me powerless. I had to have it. The fit is very relaxed, and it has a super casual but classic feel. It’s very soft and warm, although lightweight. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. If you’re between sizes, I think you could size down.

This popover sweatshirt is from Aerie, and it’s very similar to the one that I bought in 3 colors from Aerie in the fall. It’s got the same fun collar and the same oversized fit, but this one has a Kangaroo pocket. And right now it’s on SUPER SALE. It’s 40% OFF and UNDER $40. It comes in 4 muted colors and is super soft and cozy. Make sure you size way down. For size reference, I’m wearing an XS (and I’m most often a medium).

When I was in Aerie grabbing the above sweatshirt, this one caught my eye too. I of course love the stripes, and again I love the oversize fit. This one is obviously more of a traditional crewneck sweatshirt, but with banding at the neck, sleeves, and hem. It’s cute with jeans, but I’ll definitely be wearing it with joggers and sweatpants too. I sized way down in this one too (I’m wearing an XS), but if you want to wear it with leggings maybe only size down 1 size instead of 2 full sizes.

FROM THE ARCHIVES…
I found some of my previous Amazon Favorite Spring Finds that are STILL IN STOCK, so I thought I would post them again today…
This camel heather open front cardigan is one I’ve owned for a couple of years now. It’s AWESOME and a basic that would serve you well in your closet. It’s lightweight, has a nice flowy fit, and it looks great with regular denim, white denim, black denim, and dress pants as well. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
These jeans are the “light blue vintage” option, and they really are a perfect jean wash for spring and summer. They are a slim straight leg, so they are a very easy way to transition out of skinny jeans. I love the length and the fit. True to size. I’m wearing my regular size 4 here.
white tee / open front cardigan / heart earrings / beaded necklace / jeans / TB Miller sandals (less expensive Amazon option HERE ONLY $36)

Oversized quarter zip sweaters are all the rage right now. The Faherty zip up sweaters are $198, but this pullover sweater below is a great option and so much less expensive. It’s a roomy and relaxed fit, but it doesn’t look sloppy at all. In fact, you will look totally put together in it. It comes in lots of colors, so there’s something for everybody. For size reference, I’m wearing a small and it still has a ton of room.
pullover sweater / heart earrings / similar cross necklace / tile bracelets / white jeans / TB Miller sandals (less expensive Amazon option HERE ONLY $36)

I showed it in blush too. It’s a great sweater.

This quarter zip sweatshirt has over 6,000 ratings, and they are almost all 5 stars! I sized up to a large in this because I wanted it to be long and a relaxed fit in case I wanted to wear it with leggings. If only wearing with jeans, I would have stuck with a medium. I’ve had this striped version for several years now.

And I liked it so much, I grabbed the light pink too.

This quarter zip sweater screams spring. The green stripe is fresh and fun, and the stand-up collar is everything. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
These are the jeans I named a must have a couple of years ago, and I love them even more now than I did then. I reach for them all the time. They are a super subtle straight leg, and I love the ankle length and frayed hem. Comfy, flattering, and true to size.

WHAT ARE MY RECENT AMAZON PURCHASES
must have stain treater / striped sweater / whitening toothpaste / striped sweater / quarter zip sweater / necklace / cardigan

A little reminder about the stain remover and why it’s an absolute can’t live without product for me.
I’ve talked about this stain remover many times before BECAUSE I SWEAR BY IT, but sometime last year I finally did some proper before and after photos to prove how fantastic it is.
One weekend at the ranch, Carter really did a number on his light grey sweatshirt. On the left, you see a picture of the entire sweatshirt, and the pictures on the right are up close shots of the stains on the top and the bottom. That top stain is steak juice from a medium rare steak. The bottom stain is ground in dirt.
Even though I swear by this stain remover, I was still a little bit unsure how this light-colored sweatshirt was going to do after a wash.

Well! I never should have doubted its power. Look how it came out! GOOD AS NEW!!!!

Get it. You won’t regret it. The next time you have a stain, you’ll be so happy you can pull this little magic solution out.
You can click HERE for the bottle you see below, or you can click HERE for all of the different sizes and products. If you scroll to the bottom of this page you can see their shoe cleaner options too!
