Anyhoo….
Every Friday I do an OBSESSIONS post where I highlight things that, you guessed it,
I’m obsessed with.
Mostly I highlight clothes, but I’ve also been known to highlight beauty products and food!
I thought for the newcomers that it would be fun to give a simple introduction to some of our favorite things over here at Pinterest Told Me To.
I’m going to do so by featuring a round up of my 3 MUST HAVE items.
If you are a regular around here and already have some (or all!) of these items,
Must Have Item in June
You know I am OF COURSE going to lead with newest addition to my closet –
THE jacket.
I’ve had it since last Friday.
Only 7 days.
And yet I’ve worn it 3 times already.
It’s like when you first start dating a boy and you can’t get enough and you want to see him all the time. Yep, that’s me with this jacket. Can’t get enough.
Must Have Item in April
The 2nd MUST HAVE item I found after starting this blog was the famous putty wedges.
You newbies better listen up!!!
I think it was back in April that I found them, and my love for them is even stronger today. 🙂
They are comfy as all get out AND they are just as sassy.
An unlikely combination that makes for the perfect wedge.
Sooooo many of you have bought them for yourselves that you now
totally understand my love for them.
If you have them, you get it.
I get more e-mails about these shoes than about any other item that I’ve ever featured. And the second I got this particular e-mail a couple of weeks ago, I knew it was too good not to share.
Here is the e-mail:
So I have been reading your blog for about six months now. I had the amazing pleasure of being put on bed rest for the end of my pregnancy and found your blog and a tiny bit of sanity.
Anyways, I have been reading about “the SHOES” and have been stalking them.
Hopefully this does not come across as a crazy person email, but I wanted to make sure I shared my foot joy with you. Thank you for the laughs every morning and some serious inspiration!
Best,
Elizabeth
DID YOU HEAR THAT PEOPLE?
SHE WORE HER WEDGES FOR 10 HOURS IN A ROW.
HOLDING A 5 MONTH OLD.
AT THE ZOO.
Now THAT is a convincing endorsement.
All of you doubters out there should stop with the doubting already. 🙂
These truly are the most comfortable wedge you have ever or will ever wear.
It’s purely a bonus that they also happen to be DARLING and go with everything.
And here is Elizabeth rockin’ the wedges at the zoo!
Too cute!
And thank you Elizabeth for taking the time to write me!
I love getting e-mails from you ladies!
MUST HAVE ITEM in November
Click HERE to see all my past posts featuring these boots.
Not many sizes left at all, and they don’t even have my color. 🙁
I am crossing my fingers that they return this year.
I had never had a wedge boot until this year, and I LOVED them.
I was also loving that mine were the light brown (cognac) color. They provided the perfect contrast to just about anything I put on.
SERIOUSLY hope they bring them back.
I’m telling you, I am going to reserve “MUST HAVE” for like top like 5% of items I highlight.
Which mean you might only see this alert 6 or so times a year.
There are other things that fall in the top 10% that I also speak about frequently.
My fabulous oatmeal blazer (click HERE for all blazer posts) my military jacket (not available anymore), my neutral TOMS, my sequin bracelets (click HERE to read my bracelet posts) and my Kimberly necklace are my other tip top items and I ADORE them all.
I should say that should any of the winners not be able to fullfill their duties, the first runner up will step up and claim the crown of MUST HAVE.
The FIRST RUNNER UP for MUST HAVE ITEM is definitely the Kimberly Necklace.
To be honest, the only reason it didn’t make it to the MUST HAVE list is because it seems kind of expensive for a necklace. I however think it’s been TOTALLY worth it.
It is without a doubt my go to necklace that I find myself grabbing again and again and again.
It is a total outfit maker.
And here is the Kimberly Necklace in one of my Top 3 favorite outfits I’ve recreated.
And luck you guys, Stella and Dot is having a promotion right now!
Click HERE to shop Stella and Dot and earn dot dollars!
And if you do place an order, make sure you enter “Sheaffer Sims” for your trunk show hostess.
I have trunk shows open 3 weeks of every month. I do get jewelry credits if orders are placed, so please make sure you enter me as your hostess!
(And lucky for you guys…when I do get credits, I always buy something to give away on this blog. I’ve got a contest coming up in the next couple of weeks with 2 Stella and Dot items that I purchased in this way!)
Okay…that’s it for the MUST HAVE round up.
Now it’s time for a quick edition of “Dear Sheaffer”.
Dear Sheaffer,
I have a request. I like heels and wedges (yes I own several pairs), but I love wearing flats for my job. I’ve been searching high and low for a perfect nude flat. I thought if anyone could find them, Sheaffer could. Would you be so kind as to help a girl out??
Krista
Hi Krista!
I found 3 choices for you, and all are Sam Edelman.
The popular Sam Edelman Felicia flat is HERE.
There are 92 reviews of the Felicia, and 69 of them are 5 stars!
This pair HERE has good reviews too.
Oh these are the most comfortable, soft and
simply great flats I’ve ever had! I bought them online while being
overseas and had it brought to me. I took a chance based on the reviews
and am sooo happy I did! Love them! Wear them every day for long walks
and running errands!
Worth the money and more!
Another option HERE (and this one is on sale)!
And last but not least, just so you new ladies get a true picture of what it is often like here on Fridays (click HERE for other Obsessions posts), I also thought I would highlight a food item.
I know many of you must know about these…….
SANTA FE STYLE RICE AND BEANS
Now let me be very clear about something.
Lean Cuisine also has a Santa Fe Style Rice and Beans
But in my humble opinion, I believe it to be inferior to the Smart Ones version.
It is not the same.
It’s not even close.
Just ask the lady on the frozen food aisle at Target that was buying the Lean Cuisine version when a totally crazy person (which may or may not have been me) felt the need to stop her from buying the Lean Cuisine and then proceed to recite what can only be describe as a monologue on the merits of this particular rice and beans.
The lady (okay it was me) went on and an about the sour cream sauce.
The words “creamy” and “delicious” were both used several times, and the word “cheesy” also came into play on more than one occasion.
Let’s just say that the lady left with the Smart Ones version.
I feel quite sure I would have received a thank-you note had she known my name and address.
Hope everybody has a wonderful weekend!
xoxo,
Sheaffer 🙂
p.s.
I got an e-mail last early this morning that it’s the final push to
shop the FINAL SALE at Nordstrom.
I thought the sale had already ended, but there seems to be this final push now.
I’m guessing their are limited sizes available, but that you could get a really great deal.
Click HERE to shop sale clothing.
Click HERE to shop sale shoes.
Click HERE to shop sale handbags and accessories.
Click HERE to shop all women’s watches on sale.
I just checked, and there are still LOTS of items available, so remember to narrow your searches so you can shop more effectively.
I narrow the price range first (I pretty much always choose $25-$50 and $50-$100 at the same time), and then if I need to narrow it further, I will put in my size.
SEE YOU GIRLIES LATER!

The person who told you to order a size up is a witch…or maybe another word that rhymes with that. Yes. That's what she is. If she has something else negative to say about you, please direct her to mixandmatchmama@yahoo.com. I'd be more than happy to tell her what I think she should do with her denim jacket.
Love you!

I always buy my jean jackets (I have a few) fitted. I hate when they are loose. Much cuter when they are fitted! Miss Anonymous doesnt no what shes talkin' about and clearly doesnt no that you are always right when it comes to clothes! 🙂

I straightaway added those boots to my Amazon shipping list – thanks! And, I am wearing my wedges today! I absolutely love them – and who knew yellow could go with so much? I wrote a review for the wedges on Amazon and mentioned you. Just so you know. You might be getting visitors from there 🙂

I always get my denim jackets fitted! I bought one at The Limited in my usual size (xs) and found it to fit but be a bit too roomy..fitted is always better! Love the flats you chose! Now I think I might need some.. I wanted something cheaper than Revas and I think you found it! Your posts start me off with some comedic relief so thank you!

I've been a reader of your blog for a while. I have to admit, the most comfortable wedges ever intrigued me. I too am a lover of wedges and short shorts…and it's a look my husband totally supports 😉
I can't tell you how many times I added the wedges to my cart then ended up removing them before I placed orders for other things. Well, I finally did it. I bought them and instantly fell in LOVE! The putty color goes with everything!
I get so many compliments on them and I may have pulled out my phone on the spot and texted the link to the shoes to a friend, or 5!
Alison @ Get Your Pretty On says
Your jacket fits perfectly and anyone who says otherwise is just being a troll. It's probably because you just look so darn cute in it. This was the perfect week to throw a denim jacket over everything. Wishing I had one…OK, off to shop now!

The whole outfit is adorable and the jacket fit is great…:) Where is the tee from?

I am loving your jacket too!! And wedges are my go-to shoe of choice in the summer…much better than painful heels and they make my ankles look skinnier!! LOL!!!
CrazieChrisa says
I finally went and tried on the wedges! Holy crap, they were amazing! I even made my pregnant SIL try them on. It was amazing to watch her face when she realized just how comfortable they were. They are still out of my price range but wow I'll continue to dream about them. Lol

I LOVE the Smart Ones Santa Fe meal – that is one of the best ones. I laughed when I started readying it because as soon as I read the word Lean Cuisine I thought in my head "the smart ones is the best" and then you posted about it.
I am excited to check out the boots – I have big calves and have never been able to find boots that fit, but these say they are wider so maybe I will give them a try.

This is another nude flat option the "Ellen" by Vince Camuto. I am a teacher and can wear these all day!

Apologies if I have commented twice. My snarky iPhone didn't seem very interested in my joining the dialog this morning. At least I don't think it did!
I actually already bought that exact denim jacket earlier this year so I'm feeling quite pleased with myself. "The Watch" arrived this week and is waiting for me to remove links. My problem? "The shoes" were too narrow for my slightly wide feet. Having trouble finding some equally fabulous wedges to fit me!! Help a girl out!
Jen {Whimsy at Heart} says
I'll admit it, I was skeptical {that it would fit me because I've only found ONE that fits me great} of the denim jacket at first. Until…Jeni told me how awesome it was in person when she tried it on. I ordered it yesterday!!! Fingers crossed that it looks as good on me as it does on you!
Jenna {Real Simple Girl} says
You are hilarious!! I'm definitely buying the Smart Ones rice and beans at the grocery store this weekend! Good thing you came to that lady's rescue who was buying the Lean Cuisine. I've had that one before and it's less than stellar.
I'm so excited for my denim jacket to get here! I just love all of these items you highlight!

Love your blog and the style (and shopping) tips you offer! I was out and about shopping today as I needed to update my summer wardrobe (long overdue!) and came across the cutest lightweight denim jacket at Talbots today (http://preview.tinyurl.com/leo9s3t). (Note, the jacket looks darker in the link than it is IRL since it is a lighter denim wash than it appears). When I saw it at Talbots, I immediately thought back to your Nordstrom jacket find and thought to myself "this is a Sheaffer MUST HAVE!" as I don't have a Nordstrom's around here so there was no doubt that it was coming home with me. Then I came back home and saw that you posted about your jacket again. 🙂
Now, I just need to get brave and try wedges… Although, I'm still on the hunt for the perfect pair of ballet type flats that don't make my size 9.5/10 feet look bigger than they are. I'd like some cute flats to wear with my new skimmers so if you have suggestions, I'd be ever grateful!
Mary says
My jacket came today at 4:30 and I promptly put it on and wore it out for dinner….yep, you were right…it is great! (And I happen to think your jacket fits just the way it's supposed to!). Can't wait for your next "must have"! ;). Mary
Carly Lee (C. Style Blog) says
OOOOOOoooooo, the jacket! I've been looking for a good denim jacket. I might just pull the trigger.
Carrington says
You and Shay have completely sold me on wedges so much so that I wrote about them in my latest post on my blog! I mean, really.. I'm becoming obsessed! Thank yall for my newfound love!

Bought the wedges in putty – have had them for 2 weeks and tonight I bought them in black. They are literally the MOST COMFORTABLE wedge ever!! I can wear them for hours! Love love love!!!
Krista says
Thank you, Sheaffer! I only realized today (Monday) that you answered my question on Friday. Now to do some shopping and check out all the lovely options! Very grateful, Krista
Leah @ ThreeFites says
Question – has anyone washed their jacket yet? Mine just arrived (after some shipping issues) and it is not only stiff and scratchy but it kind of stinks! Wonder how it held up in home wash/dryer or if I should throw it in the laundry bag and take it to the dry cleaners and pay them to iron it! 🙂
