Happy Monday, everybody! Today I’m working with a brand that I’ve worked with a couple of times in the past. Both times I’ve worked with them I’ve featured swimsuits and cover ups because they have a great selection of swimsuits in a large range of sizes. Today I’m going to switch things up a bit and feature ModCloth summer dresses, shoes and accessories! I’m pretty obsessed with the bag, but I’m getting ahead of myself.
The brand I’m partnering up with today is ModCloth!
Let’s kick things off by talking about dresses. ModCloth has an incredible assortment of dresses in all different types of styles for all different types of occasions. And here’s the best thing about ModCloth’s dresses: almost all of their dresses range in sizes from XXS to 4X! I absolutely love how inclusive the brand is with their sizing because, they are giving women with all different body types the opportunity to feel great about their outfits and themselves. And let’s keep it real, I also love their price point.
SUMMER OUTFIT #1
I chose a brightly colored wildflower shift dress for myself. If you know me, you know that 9/10 times when choosing a dress, I choose a shift. I feel like a shift is always figure flattering and hides my problem area, which is my tummy.
At 5’4″, this particular dress hits right at the top of my knees. I usually wear my shift dresses with a shorter hemline, but I actually felt like the more modest length seen below fit the look of this dress. I sized up to a medium, and I definitely needed the room in the chest. (I often size up in dresses that don’t have a lot of give, but if you don’t have a large chest, I think you could stick with your regular size.)
And although I didn’t realize this when ordering the dress, finding out it had pockets was such a nice surprise! I love a dress with pockets.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: After reading the reviews, I would recommend dry cleaning this dress. It seems that if you wash and dry it that the outer layer shrinks up and the lining peeks out.

I chose this vibrant orange floral for myself, but it also comes in a retro inspired yellow floral and a vintage inspired olive with a sweet dragonfly pattern. The dress is very feminine, and I especially love the fluttery sleeves and the pretty little cut out detailing that’s found on the sleeves and down the middle of the dress. The bodice of the dress is lined, so you don’t see thru to the skin behind the cut out detail on the bodice.
Here you can also see the rough edge hem of the dress, which I think is a lovely detail.
Now, let’s talk about the bag. I. LOVE. THIS. BAG. It’s a rich cognac color with a combo of faux leather and suede. It’s a great medium size, and can be dressed up or down. I always appreciate having a cross body option, and this one has an adjustable strap. It also has brass feet, which is such a nice touch.
If you don’t want to wear it cross body, you can also carry it by this cute little brushed brass ring. (Look for a video highlighting the bag sometime today on instagram stories!)
ModCloth actually has a great selection of unique bags, but you can find my absolute favorites below. LOOK HOW CUTE THEY ARE! And they are a fantastic deal, because they range in price from only $34.99 to $59.99. I’m absolutely loving bags #3 and #4. Just click on the bag(s) you are interested in:
This is such a sweet little dress, and it’s just one of hundreds that ModCloth carries.
When browsing the site, a handful of favorites definitely popped out for me. Click on what you are interested in!
The earrings are a gorgeous beaded turquoise and a great length. The one review on the site mentions that they are heavy, but I don’t find that to be the case. Heavy earrings give me a headache, and I’m unable to wear them for long periods of time. These didn’t cause any issues for me.

I failed to get a good close up picture of the wedges, so I thought I would put together a flat lay so you could see the multi colored stripe on the actual wedge. At only 5’4″, I prefer a higher wedge, but I get frequent requests to feature low profile wedges, and these are a great option!

SUMMER OUTFIT #2
This dress is a departure for me, but I actually love it! It has a real island vacation feel, AND IT HAS POCKETS. (Modcloth actually has a great selection of dresses with pockets!)
It’s fully lined and has a side zipper closure, although I was able to just pull it over my head because the material definitely has some give. The fun and colorful pattern is what initially attracted me to the dress, but I wasn’t sure if the fit and shape were going to be flattering on me, so I didn’t have high hopes. This dress definitely surpassed my expectations.
The straps are adjustable because you tie them into bows yourself. This is perfect for me, because I often need adjustable straps because I have a really short torso. I tied my bows pretty tight so I wouldn’t show much cleavage, but the straps can be adjusted to your desired length. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
The model wearing the dress on the site must be quite tall, because the dress is much longer on me. At 5’4″, it’s more of a midi length, but I think the length perfectly matches the vibe of the dress.
Now somebody needs notify Chris to book a tropical vacation.

SUMMER OUTFIT #3
Last year when I talked about swimsuits with ModCloth, I actually linked to this swimsuit. I thought it was a classic black one piece that would look great on a variety of body types. So, when they reached out this year, I knew I would be ordering the suit to try for myself.
Here’s the verdict. I absolutely LOVE the halter styling and the ruching. Both are extremely flattering. Sadly, the keyhole detailing (which I was excited about) was a little too aggressive for my girls. Ha! I think it would work best on ladies who are flatter chested or who have after market boobs. It will look PHENOMENAL on y’all. I also grabbed a pair of denim shorts (I got the size 5 and they fit great) and a pair of shiny gold sandals. I think the sandals could be great, but I needed to have sized up a 1/2 size. My regular size was uncomfortable.

If you’ve never shopped ModCloth before, I hope today’s post gave you a great introduction to the brand! If you have shopped ModCloth before, I hope you were reminded of the great selection they have in all sizes. If you want to see the above accessories in action, you can click HERE for a post last week where I styled the earrings, the bag, and the gold sandals with different outfits.
Also, it’s time to announce THE WINNER OF THE KOPARI GIVEAWAY! If you didn’t see last Monday’s post, you really need to take the time to check it out. I not only talked about Kopari’s amazing products, we all had a conversation (in the comments) about giving and receiving compliments. I really loved what everybody had to say. It seems we all love to give compliments, but many of us have difficulty receiving them. My hope is that we will now all work on accepting our compliments more graciously! So, the winner is… IS GINA HOLMES! CONGRATULATIONS, GINA! Gina, e-mail me at pinteresttoldmeto@yahoo.com to claim your prize. If I do not hear from you within 48 hours, another winner will be chosen.
Have a great week everybody! See you back here on Wednesday for The Bachelorette recap! And remember, if you want to read up on all things Anniversary Sale, click HERE to see what I have to say about this year’s event!
