First up, I have a great update for you! My friend’s son Drew has made some incredible progress over the last 24 hours and gave Jill the best Mother’s Day she could ask for when he experienced some pretty considerable relief from his pain. Thank you, God! To read Jill’s incredible words about all of his progress and her thoughts on Mother’s Day, click HERE. I promise you it is well worth your time and her words will bless your socks off. LOVE YOU, JILL!!!!
Last month I went to a blogger conference with some girlfriends. I had a great time hanging with the girls, it was fun having a reason to dress up, and it was pretty cool to hang around others who understand the blogging world and don’t look at you strangely when you grab a quick selfie in the elevator! 😉 I mean I’m fully aware it’s still weird, but it’s less weird when surrounded by other bloggers! Ha!
One night I wore a fun black romper with wedges. It was a simple look, but I loved it! Sadly, the romper sold out almost immediately after I purchased it…but don’t worry, I have a lot of others to choose from in a bit! Here was my look.
The party was outdoors and sunglasses were a must, so I reached for my go to sunnies. They are the 58 mm original aviators with dark lenses and a gold rim. When I bought them last year, they were the first pair of designer sunglasses I had ever purchased. I wear them casually all summer long, but they are fancy enough that they look great with dressy outfits as well! I knew immediately this was the the outfit I was going to share with you when Nordstrom reached out to ask if I would talk about sunglasses.
I wasn’t sure they were going to be worth the hefty price tag of $150, but now I’m a firm believer in these babies. Sunglasses have always given me a headache (I blame my big melon), but these are light as a feather and don’t squeeze my head! With all of my other sunglasses, I can only wear them for short periods of time, but I can wear these for hours without any trouble! Click HERE for my exact shades.
Ray-Ban has so many options for us, so I thought you might want to see some other popular frames and styles!
Sadly, my clutch is sold out too, but I’ve got some options for you for those as well.
Here are some great ones to choose from:
I thought the asymmetrical line of this top was so unique, and HELLO POCKETS. (Again, so sad this particular romper is sold out.)
But I LOVE how all black rompers are incredibly simple, yet totally chic.
And have you noticed the wedges? I got them last year and still think they are greatness.
The “wooden” inset on THESE WEDGES really makes them special, AND THEY ARE ON SALE!!! And they truly are very comfortable. The reviews are FANTASTIC, and they came out with a “denim” and brown suede with a rop wedge that are fab. My friend Brennan has the denim ones, and I’m telling you, they’re to die for. And I promise you, I simply will not wear shoes that aren’t comfy. And if I do, I won’t wear them a second time. #buhbye
So do you have a black romper? Would you like one? They are unexpected and fun to throw on for an event!
Here are some other black jumpsuit and romper options:
I know THIS one is pants, but I think it’s the most similar to mine with the cut! If you get this one, I would probably pair strappy sandals with it.
Here’s a similar look to mine that you could create with items that are in stock.
Full disclosure. While writing this post I ended up buying THESE for myself. I had tried them on in store about a week ago, and I couldn’t believe how light they were! I actually went to the mall with the intention of getting another pair of classic aviators with a colored lens, but I left the store without them. I felt silly spending money on something that looked so similar to something I already owned. But while writing this post, I talked myself into THESE. I just love how they are so different than my original pair.
And I know I’ve mentioned this in the past, but Ray-Bans will make you feel cooler. It’s true. 😉 Thank you to my friend Stephanie Drenka for the pictures and to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post.
