Today we’ve got another Style it Again, Sheaffer post! I started this series several months ago, and it’s been a big hit with y’all! Everybody really likes seeing one piece in multiple outfits so you can learn how to style clothes you already have. After all, that’s how we all dress! We wear things again and again. And again. #andthenagain
And then we throw them over the chair and wear them yet again. Or maybe that’s just me. 😉
I have several pieces that I’m going to be showing you today, pieces that you’ve already seen on the blog at least once, and today I’m going to style them at least 1 additional way! Let’s get started!
STYLE IT AGAIN: A LITTLE BLACK DRESS
I first showed you this dress styled casually with wedges, but here it’s dressed with some bright pink heels and earrings.
The dress is a fabulous stretch cotton, and the ruffle details on the sleeves and the skirt are so feminine, fun, and flirty! It has a great fit that is incredibly flattering, yet it’s incredibly comfortable to wear. (My goodness this dress makes me say a lot of “f” words”: feminine, fun, flirty, and flattering!) It’s very similar to the LOFT dress that I showed a couple of weeks ago (click HERE to see me in the LOFT dress), but this is the dress that I ended up keeping. I felt the material was a bit easier to style both up and down. I went with a 6 in this dress.

GIRLS! These earrings are 50% OFF, which makes them JUST UNDER $8. EIGHT DOLLARS. #thatsjuststupid

And yes, I bought the must have wedges in black too. BECAUSE THEY ARE IN FACT MUST HAVES. 😉 True to size.

STYLE IT AGAIN: HIGH-WAISTED BELTED SHORTS
Once again, when I first showed you these shorts, they were styled much more casually (with a tee and slides). Here I styled them with a striped and fitted tank, some gold jewelry, a clutch, and my black must have wedges for a dressier look.
These belted shorts are without a doubt a new favorite. I love the tailored look and the belted waist. The waist is higher than my normal shorts, and that paired with the tie helps them create the look of a really tiny waistline. #SIGNMEUP And they come in khaki too!
I’m wearing my regular size 4s here, but I think they run a little large. The 2 reviewers said that as well (but they both still gave 5 STARS), so I want to try the 2s.

STYLE IT AGAIN: MY NEW FAVORITE SWEATER
Okay, girls. I think you can say I’m officially obsessed with this sweater (and it’s 40% OFF RIGHT NOW with the code BFFS). You’re going to get a full recap of my conference outfits soon (look for it either Friday or next Monday!), and I wore this sweater two nights out to dinner and on the car ride home. Seriously. It’s just so easy to throw on and still look effortlessly put together. I sized up to a medium in the sweater for a slouchy fit. It also comes in black and cream.
This is how I wore it on a trip to the mall last week, with my favorite AG denim and a pair of pointy toed cognac flats.

I haven’t worn it this next way yet, but I’m sure I will this week. Thank Heavens the sweater washes beautifully!

Here’s a reminder of how I styled the sweater the first several times you saw it…
I’m wearing it with my favorite denim shorts in this outfit, and you can click HERE for my denim shorts review last week where I review 3 pairs, including a much longer pair. You can also hop over to instatories (my ig handle is @sheaffertoldmeto) if you want to see videos of my reviews on my Instatories highlight reel!
I’m wearing my regular 27s in these, but the 26s fit too, so I suggest sizing down if between sizes.

And here it is with the shorts I originally got it to go with. ? I had NO IDEA when I bought it that I was going to become obsessed with it. #butihave
I sized up to a medium in the sweater for a relaxed fit, I’m wearing my regular size 4 in the shorts (if between sizes, go down), and I suggest going up a 1/2 size in the sandals.
The sweater and the shorts are on sale…actually, pretty much everything is 40% OFF at LOFT today!

And you saw the sweater just last week with my favorite white jeans and must have denim jacket.

STYLE IT AGAIN: LIGHT WASH JEANS
These next two outfits actually contain a new pair of jeans, but since I’ve already worn them twice, I thought I would show you both times today in this Style It Again post.
Mott and Bow (they manufacture premium grade denim for reasonable prices!) reached out to see if I would like to try a pair of their jeans. I took a look the website, and knew exactly the pair I wanted to try. I chose this light wash pair (because I didn’t have anything like them in my closet), and I was so excited to receive them early last week.
I opened the jeans, I loved them, and I wore them the next 2/3 days.

I styled them again basically the same way the 2nd day I wore them, but it was a little cooler, so I threw on a military jacket (and switched out the beach tee for a graphic tee).

I adore the light wash of these (although they come in other washes t00) and think they are perfect for Spring and Summer. Concerning fit, I’m wearing my regular size 27s (28″ inseam), and they are ALL SORTS of comfy. They are super soft and fit similarly to a jegging, BUT THEY ARE A REAL JEAN. A real jean with a zipper and a button and everything you need in a pair of pants. 😉 And even though they feel similar to a jegging, THE LOOK LIKE A REAL JEAN. I wouldn’t hesitate to do a full tuck with a shirt or even wear a short top. (Just to be clear, I’m not talking about a crop top…I’m just saying I don’t find it necessary to wear a long shirt with these jeans.) #justsoweareclear 😉
Here’s a close up of all angles.
AND GREAT NEWS! Not only is shipping free, but they send you a prepaid return label, so returns are free also!

STYLE IT AGAIN: RUCHED DRESS
I showed you this dress in the pretty persimmon color on Friday….but instead of styling it differently today, I thought I would just show you a couple of other color options of the dress, all styled the same. If you are considering the dress, it might help you decide what color you like the best for yourself. (They only had the persimmon in my size in store, and I wanted to try a couple of different colors before deciding on which color I wanted to keep.)
I ordered the heathered army green and the classic black. I actually loved all colors, but I’m still really drawn to the persimmon color, so I’m keeping it for sure. But I’m also considering keeping the black. It seems like a great basic to have. It comes in a ton of great colors, so go check them all out!
The fabric is soft and comfortable, and the draping and ruched sides make it very flattering. I personally won’t wear this dress without a denim jacket (and maybe a military jacket!), but you know I love pairing my denim jacket with just about everything. I settled on this really pretty persimmon color, but it really does come in a ton of great colors. I went with a medium in this ruched tank dress, and I’m glad I did. I often times have to size up in dresses (to accommodate my rib cage and boobs), so a medium in a dress is actually true to size for me for dresses.
It also comes in a long sleeve version HERE.
So here it is in the heathered green color.

And here’s the classic black! This is such a great dress for a date night or a girl’s night out!
tank dress / earrings / must have jacket / must have wedges
And here again, this gorgeous persimmon color you first saw on Friday. After I first posted this picture, I got a couple of questions about what underwear I wear with this dress. MY NEW UNDIES leave absolutely no panty line. NOT EVEN A TRACE OF ONE. I’m telling you, they are awesome.

Here are 3 colors side by side. Which is your favorite?

YES!!! Loved the format and all the cute outfits!! How can I choose just one?
Narci Dreffs says
I have that last dress, and it is awesome and so comfy!!! Also, I love those light was jeans! So pretty!!
Lulu says
I love the persimmon color the best, not just for the color, but because you can see the rushing detail better. I saw this in the store. I went to look for the olive shorts to try on, but they weren’t in our Nordstrom. I don’t think it’s an online exclusive. The reviews said the waist runs big, is that true? I’m long waisted, so wanted to try them on. I love how they are just a tad bit fancier!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Lulu! I do mention in the post that I’m wearing my regular 4, but I’m wanting to try the regular 2s to see. I do feel like they are loose, but I’m not sure if the 2s are going to be too tight?!? If you get them, I hope you love them! And I’m glad you like the persimmon color best too! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Crissy Talley says
They all look beautiful on you, but if I had to just pick one it would be the red one. The red dress just pops with color!
Blessings
Shay Shull says
I love it when you “style it again”!
chris says
I happen to think that the ruched dress IS a size-up item. Im usually a small (size 6 or sometimes 4) and the medium is plenty fitted on me.
Sheaffer says
Good feedback! Thanks, Chris!
E says
I really appreciate the style it again format. I sometimes get “locked” into thinking about an article of clothing only being able to be worn one way with certain other pieces. And…being able to style things again gives me less cost per wears. Thanks Sheaffer!
Sheaffer says
Great feedback! Thank you! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Jenny Null says
Love that ruched dress on you! The black is so classic, but you definitely need to keep the persimmon also. It looks so good on you!!
Vanda says
I love the format of today’s post very much! Your dress in the persimmon color is beautiful, but I also really like the green color on you…it looks so good with your eyes! Would you mind telling me your lipstick or lip gloss color you have on in your pictures? I’ve been looking for a nice berry color for spring/summer and this looks great on you! Thank you!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Vanda! I’m not sure which lip gloss I’m wearing because I rotate through those, but the lipstick is Lancome “fashion icon”. It’s the only shade I wear! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Vanda says
Thank you, Sheaffer!
Alice says
My only question is why do you look at the phone, and not at the mirror when you take these pics? I think it’s odd to see your face from the side instead of a straight on angle? You’re not the only blogger to do this so maybe it’s a “thing”, but it feels really awkward.
Sheaffer says
Hi, Alice! I’ve tried the way you are talking about too, and I just don’t like the pictures as much. I have no idea why?!? And I think selfie pictures will be awkward no matter what! Ha! 🙂 xoxo, Sheaffer
Stephanie Landrum says
Love the layout and love these style it again posts!!! I need that denim jacket in my life! Hope ya have a good week!!
Diane says
Great post. You always look so cute! You mentioned in your Soma post that some or one of the styles you sized up. Do you mind telling which? I ordered some from your post and actually ordered the wrong style (not sure how I managed that!) but they are pretty small and I’m wondering which others might be. The natori brand you recommended in the past are too big on me. It’s hard to be a girl!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Diane! I have smalls in the microfiber with lace hipsters. I have mediums in the plain microfiber hipsters, but I’m actually think I might buy smalls in those next time as well. xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Dana says
Sheaffer, you are just so cute and have helped me so much in putting outfits together and learning how to dress more appropriately. I have to be honest though- I splurged on those wedges and they kill my feet! I have tried them on around the house 4-5 times and every time they hurt my arches so bad. They are so cute though so I’m really bummed that I’m going to have to return them. Maybe just include a tiny disclaimer that they are really high and find another super cute one for people who are not acclimated to a high shoe like that. 🙂 Keep up the good work though- we non-fashion minded people need you!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Dana! I’m so sorry they don’t work for you! I actually ordered a pair of lower heeled wedges to talk about (and I loved them), but they sold out before I even talked about them. Sole Society is often a great resource for lower heeled shoes, so you might check there! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Dana says
Thanks, Sheaffer! I forgot to mention that I have a pair of Ugg wedges that are lower and super comfortable. I needed to replace them because they have ribbons that constantly untie, but if you can find those, they are amazing in terms of comfort and I think they changed them this year to have a permanent bow instead of the crazy ribbons. Hope that helps!

These are the ones I’m talking about or there is another pair around the same height with just a strap across the toes and a little tassel on the back. ?
Sheaffer says
THESE ARE DARLING, Dana!!!!
