I’ve been at this blogging thing for a good long while now, y’all. Like 11+ years!
I’ve pretty consistently published 3 posts a week (sometimes more) for this entire time, which is a heck of a lot of posts. We’re talking on average of 150 posts a year, which means around 1,650 posts since I started this thing. And I’m not going to lie, sometimes coming up with a new post is challenging!
Over the weekend I knew that my Monday post was going to be outfit planning, and I knew my Friday post was going to be a Friday Favorites, but I had no idea what in the world Wednesday’s post was going to be.
I was stuck.
And then I looked around at things that were on my bathroom counter and my bedside table, and a post was born.
So, today’s post is a simple one. All I’m doing is talking about some of my current favorite things, and today we’re focusing on BEAUTY and ACCESSORIES. These are items that I’m using almost every day right now and LOVING.
Let’s start with the jewelry. These are 3 pieces that I’m wearing constantly. The earrings are from Walmart, the necklace is from Amazon, and the bracelet is from Nordstrom. All of the pieces are under $50, but you could grab all three pieces for right around $100.

All three pieces are beautifully made. Let’s talk about each of them…
I kind of rotate through huggie earrings, and these are my current favorites. They are incredibly sparkly, and I of course like that I can talk on the phone and sleep in them with no issues since they are huggies. I’ve been wearing them for at least a month now, and I shower in them all the time, and they still look great. The are on SUPER SALE right now, so you should totally grab them.
The necklace is so fun and adds great color to all different sorts of outfits. This is the G – Rainbow + Pearl 1, but there are other options available. The glass beads are beautiful, and I love the “pearl” beads as well. It’s great with tees now but will be awesome with sweaters and button ups in the fall.
Do you want a bracelet you can wear with basically everything? This wrap around bracelet is so good. It totally gives David Yurman vibes for a fraction of the price. It’s definitely the best bracelet I’ve purchased in a very long time.

Now for the beauty products! These are some of my MVPs right now…
Retinol Supreme Eye Serum / tartlette XL tubing mascara / Halo tinted moisturizer / Dior lip oil (mahogany) / Amika hairspray / foot file
The tartlette XL tubing mascara is an absolutely incredible product. It doesn’t flake, it doesn’t smudge, and it adds both length and volume to my lashes.
- start at the base of lashes, apply 2 coats in an upward motion along the natural curve of lashes
- PRO tip: to build extra volume, wiggle wand at the base of lashes before pulling through the length
- Removes in tubes with just warm water!
If you want to see what it can do, go check out the before and after pictures on the site. I’ll post my own before and after pictures on Friday.
This $8 tool is SERIOUSLY INCREDIBLE. Like you won’t believe how much it will help your dry and cracked heels. I’ve tried lots of tools and liked many of them, but this one is my favorite. When I pulled it out of the box, I totally thought it was going to be a dud. I didn’t understand how it was going to work because it didn’t seem rough enough to take off everything I needed to take off. On the site, it says the tool has a “textured nano glass surface with multi-directional grinding points” that “buffs and smooths hard skin at the same time“.
Well, it appears that the textured nano glass is magical.
It leaves my heels feeling softer than ever, and it’s so easy and quick to use. I use it on dry feet and am always amazed at how well it works.
Have you ever tried lip oil? It’s not a lip gloss per se, and it’s definitely not a lipstick. It really is a lip OIL. It’s super hydrating, it’s very shiny, and it feels amazing on. It’s not sticky at all. And let’s talk about the applicator, because it’s seriously awesome. It’s big and pillowy and beautifully sweeps the oil onto your lips.
The color is so pretty and so subtle. I know it looks very dark in the bottle, but it’s not at all. It’s super subtle. No matter what color you choose with this product, it’s just subtle and pretty. It kind of just tints your lips.

The Retinol Supreme Eye Serum is one of the newer additions to my nighttime routine. It’s a blend of retinol and vitamin C help that helps revitalize the delicate skin around the eyes. It doesn’t have a scent, the texture is great, it absorbs quickly, and the cooling tip allows for a perfect application. This serum hydrates and brightens, which seems to be a recurring theme in all of my favorite products. I WANT TO HYDRATE AND BRIGHTEN, LADIES! 🙂
Many people who consider their eyes a problem area report that they notice real results in just one week.
There are over 200 reviews, and the great majority are 5 STARS.
I’ve used teeth whitening strips many times throughout my life, but these Crest ones are the best I’ve ever used. You apply the strips like you do all other strips, and then before you take them off, you put the light in your mouth and hold it there for 5 minutes. It’s supposed to kick up the whitening factor, and I definitely think it does.
I am going to change how I use them though. Right now I whiten my teeth every couple of weeks, but on my next box I’m going to do 5 days in a row to really punch up the whiteness and brightness. The only reason I’m not saying 10 days in a row is because I’m scared of sensitivity, but if I’m not experiencing any at the end of 5 days, I’ll keep on going!

Y’all know I’ve been using and loving Lumi Glotion all summer long for a subtle glow and minimal coverage.
Well, this Halo tinted moisturizer still provides good color and glow, but it provides more coverage than the Lumi AND it has spf! It’s going to be perfect to help me transition my makeup into fall.
It has some hyaluronic acid in it, so I love the added benefits it provides in regards to moisture. In addition to the hyaluronic acid, it also contains niacinamide, rose extract, goji berries, and peptides…. so in addition to some great makeup, you’re also getting some really great skincare.
I wear light neutral (I chose it from the arm chart), and it was a great match for me.
It’s tinted moisturizer, it doesn’t get cakey, and the product is buildable.
My hairstylist recommended this hairspray to me like 3 months ago, and I’ve been using it ever since. It gives the best touchable hold I’ve ever had, and it smells absolutely incredible.
And since I know y’all will have questions, you can find the orchid HERE!

Hi Sheaffer! I appreciate you sharing your recommendations! I just wanted to share that I have had a horrible experience with using retinol near my eyes. Please please be careful. It is very drying and can cause Meibomian gland dysfunction in your eyelids. I know because I have it and it’s permanent. I had never heard of it until I went to the eye doctor and he told me. I wasn’t even using it near my eyes but it is powerful and can migrate there easily, especially if we do our nighttime skin care right before bed. I’m only 41 and had been using retinol products for about 5-6 years when I found out. I just wanted to do a PSA because I had never heard about it but it’s unfortunately very common in women.
Thanks!
