Shopping with Sheaffer: Target Edition!

It’s FINALLY here!
Shopping with Sheaffer:  TARGET Edition!
 Back in June I asked you ladies where you would like to see me shop (besides my regular stores of Nordstrom, LOFT, and Anthropologie….and lately Piperlime has been
sneaking into the rotation too!).
The most requested store was Target!
So today we have the first Shopping with Sheaffer Readers’ Choice:

I shopped this past Friday, and I found some items that I was SOOOOO EXCITED about sharing with all of you!
HOWEVER.
GOOD LUCK FLIPPING FINDING THE ITEMS ONLINE.
Oh my word I wanted to pull my hair out when searching for everything.
I even asked for help on facebook on Saturday afternoon, and I found out that all of you agree with me.  Let’s just say that the Target online site leaves a little to be desired. 😉

SO, I’ve got some good news, and I’ve got some bad news.  
Good News:
You’re going to get to see a lot of cute outfits today!!!
Bad News: 
Even if you fall in love with an item, you probably aren’t going to be able to buy it.

I guess it’s possible that you will be able to go to your local Target and find these items, so you can hope for that!  Although I know that stock varies so much from Target to Target, that I’m not sure how easily that will work.
Still, just in case your Target might have some of these items,  I will put the maker and the size of the item I’m highlighting so you can try to look at your Target if you would like!


SO, LET’S GO SHOPPING AT TARGET GIRLS!
Everything is from Target in all of the below outfits except the earrings (which you can find HERE c/o Gorjana Griffin) and the pink quartz necklace (which you can find HERE  c/o Accessory Concierge).

This was the first outfit I put together, and I loved ALL of it!

Denim jacket not found online.  BOO!
It is Mossimo, and I was wearing a large, but needed a medium.  It was a really great denim jacket, and I’m soooo sad I can’t link to it for y’all!
Striped tee that cannot be found online.  It is Merona, and I was wearing a Medium.
Black skinny jeans HERE.
These pants were greatness!  I had to size up in all of the pants today.  I was wearing a 6 in these.
I thought they were very flattering, and it looked to me like they would hold up well.

 Even though the rest of this post is a bit of a bust (since I wasn’t able to find most of the items for you), me finding these booties made it worth it.
They are super cute, very comfortable, and ONLY $29.99!!!!

In this next outfit, I left on the pants, the booties, and the jacket….I just traded out the striped boat neck tee for the mustard yellow v-neck tee.  (I loved the mustard color with my pink necklace.)

Mustard v-neck not found online.  I can’t remember if it was Mossimo or Merona, and I was wearing a medium.

 When I was piling stuff up in my cart to head to the dressing room, these next jeans totally caught my eye!  These were really cool and reminded me a lot of some Rag and Bone jeans I saw at Nordstrom during the anniversary sale.

For size reference, I was wearing a 6.  Look at the detail on the knees and with the zippers.
Black and white graphic popover SOLD OUT online, which is  too bad because I LOVED it!!!!
NO WAIT!  A READER (Thank you Shelly!) just messaged me (9:15 p.m. on Monday night) and sent the link to me for this shirt HERE!
It is Merona, and I was wearing a medium.
Cannot find bag online either, but other cognac bags HERE.
I kept on the shirt, and then switched out the moto jeans for the black skinny jeans I had already tried on.

 This next outfit was super casual and fun!
Plaid button up (and look at the cute cuffs!) not able to be found online. 🙁
Ooh wait! A sweet reader (thanks Kali!) found a very similar one online HERE!!!!!!
(It’s not the exact same because the one I have on buttons all the way down and isn’t a popover, but still it’s very similar!)
The shirt is Merona, and I was actually wearing a large because only larges and x-smalls were left in store, and the x-small looked like a toddler shirt.  A medium might have been good for me, but I actually liked the generous fit of this large on me.

This next outfit was comfy and cozy.

T-shirt is Mossimo, it was a really good long length, and I was wearing a medium. Sorry I can’t find it online!

Buckle booties HERE.
True to size.  Not super comfortable, but not uncomfortable either.  If that makes any sort of sense.
I even found a work appropriate outfit that I thought was great!
The top is very similar to the cut and overall look of the MUST HAVE shirt!

 I was unable to find the top online, but Debbie (a sweet reader) to the rescue e-mailed me the link this morning!
Just like the MUST HAVE shirt, size down in this one too.  I was wearing an x-small.
(I already got an e-mail this morning asking me about the quality of this shirt.  I didn’t buy it so I’m not sure if it will hold up as nicely as the MUST HAVE.  I’m guessing it probably won’t, but for $22.99 I’m thinking it’s worth a try!  If you have this shirt, leave a comment about the quality please!)
Side stripe ankle pant HERE.
These fit really well, I thought they were flattering, and I loved the striped down the side. I would recommend sizing up a size.  For size reference, I was wearing a 6 in the pants.

So…I ended up getting leaving the store with 2 items for myself.

About the booties…I told my mom about them on Friday, and she went to her local Target on Saturday to try to find them (she lives in Dallas) and they didn’t have any.  Not even 1 pair.  So, if you want them, it sounds like online might be your best bet.

    I am a Target fan for everything BUT women's clothing. I bought clothes there for years before having an epiphany that it all gets so misshapen/worn out//yuck so quickly and I was cycling through items very quickly that were getting donated to Goodwill before long. I think it is so much more worth it to buy clothing at Nordstrom, Piperlime, etc. Nordstrom has my heart!

      I agree, I've noticed over the years that Target's clothing quality is crap. Unless you're getting super basics like tees and tanks that you expect to replace yearly, don't bother. The pants stretch out. The sweaters and cardigans pill immediately. And their prices are not dirt cheap considering the quality. I mean, $30 for a cardigan and $30+ for pants? I can find things around that price watching sales or promo codes at Banana Republic and J Crew, Gap, Nordstrom, etc. It is not worth it. I never bought a ton there but have since realized it is not worth it to invest money into their clothes. One exception, I am happy with the Liz Lange Maternity line, but those are not long-term investments either.

    I agree that Target's website is clunky and stock is hit and miss from store to store. However, so.e of my favorite heels in my closet come from target. I am abusive on my work heels because of walking on so much concrete for my job (downtown meetings, to and from the parking lots, etc) and I like knowing they are comfortable and I didn't pat a fortune if they get chewed up and spit out.

    I just saw those leopard shoes in my Target on Friday. The clearance section is always huge and full of goodies too! Our target also had Kendra Scott looking jewelery, much of it on sale. I'd love love to see you shop at JCPenney!

    I have only bought basics, like tanks & tees, from Target so great job finding some cute stuff!

    As for next trip, I vote for Express. I have a serious addiction to the Portofino shirts since they fit beautifully, wash & dry without issue & rarely wrinkle, even when packed in an already stuffed suitcase. I would love to see the outfits you could put together from there 🙂

    Express! It can be hit or miss but normally I find great stuff there. Just bought a ton of stuff in a big sale they had. I love their jeans and portofino shirts.

    I live in a small town with a crappy mall, so I vote for JC Penney. The great thing about JCP is that if you find something in the store that's not in your size, you can just take the item to any cash register, and they will look it up and see if there are more sizes available– this searches online and stock in other stores. If they have it, they will ship it to the store for free and you can pick it up in a few days. You can also apply any coupons– both in-store and online– to the order.

    JCrew Factory!!! Regular JCrew is so expensive that I can only buy 1 or 2 things and be over my max. I find the Factory clothes to be just as nice – maybe just a little more focused on basics.

      Hi there! I just looked, and I don't think it's that one. It looks more cropped on the website than it does on me, and it's junior's sizing. I don't think the one I tried on was Juniors. Thanks for the link though! It is definitely a great alternative!!!!

    Sigh..I love Target and hate them at the same time. On the other hand, you've put together some awesome outfits. I saw that printed black/white button down over the weekend and fell in love.     My vote for next time is J Crew Factory! These Target outfits that you put together are cute. I do have that popover (bought one last spring) and as for quality its pretty decent, although I haven't worn it a ton so it hasn't had a lot of wear and tear. I like the way it looks. You can tell the MUST HAVE shirt is better quality but again, it's also more money so guess it's a trade off.

    I vote for JCPenney. We did some back to school shopping there and got some amazing deals. I bought two maxi dresses for my 13 year old for 12.99 each. We were super excited. She's 5' 4" and they were just the right length. We tried on maxi dresses at other stores, and they were too long on her. Anyway, I think JCP is reinventing itself. The store was a pleasant surprise!

Also I've already commented and I searched for your email address, because I have a question for you (well it's more of a request, but I was going to make it a question in the email, haha). Please, please please show us how to style these booties. I'm DYING to buy a pair, but I'm so terrified of buying them and not knowing what to do with them once I get them home. My go to during the fall/winter/early spring is leggings, tunics & boots (sometimes flats or skinny jeans), but I would love to add a pair of booties to the rotation if I was shown what to do with them!

    I believe that if it is not broke don't fix it! I would be forever happy if you only posted stuff from Nordstrom, Loft and Anthropologie! Stuff overall from Target and Old Navy is horrible unless it is kid's stuff that they will outgrow before it falls apart. Please go to JCrew next.

    Express, jcrew, jcrew factory are all too easy to find cute things. JcPenney is a bit more challenging, although, they've really tried hard to up the ante in recent years. I vote JCP!!! I think people will be surprised.

    You are too cute! Love the jumping for joy pics! Lol. I'm super disappointed that I didn't win the nordstrom gift card. Boo! I was really hoping to win it since there are so many cute things you've recommended that I'm just dying to have! And my credit card is already about maxed out! Lol. But I'm gonna vote for j crew factory since I definitely can't afford j crew! I was gonna suggest gap or Maurice's or maybe Dillard's. I have to shop Dillard's since that's the nicest department store within 3 hours of here. And even they don't have a lot of the big name brands you regularly shop. Thanks for sharing all of your awesome finds with us! You inspire me and make me smile with your adorable personality. :-). You even inspire me to want to start my own blog for heavier girls like myself. I'm a size 10 that's 5'3 1/2". Clothes look a lot different on a size 10 than they do you slender girls.

    I went to Target today and mine definitely had the black & white shirt as well as the multi color. That being said, I did not buy either because they looked like they might not hold up after a few washings. HOWEVER, long & lean tanks were on sale for $5 so I grabbed some in white, black, grey & oatmeal. I wasn't sure if they would be long enough (I'm 5'9") so I sized up to a large and they do work with leggings!
