I did my first ever Sephora Haul back in the Spring, and I had SO MUCH FUN shopping for the post, using the products, and then reviewing everything for y’all. The post was very well received, and I knew I wanted to continue doing them, so I was extra thrilled when Sephora reached out to have me cover their Summer Bonus Event that is going on now! The savings are awesome for Rouge and VIB members!
If you are Rouge, you can start shopping and saving today!
- Rouge members have first access to shop 20% off purchases in store and online from 8/19-8/27. Use code SUMMERSAVE.
- VIB members get 15% off purchases in store or online from 8/20-8/27. Use code SUMMERSAVE.
These Sephora Events give me just the nudge I need to try new products (which is GREAT fun!), and four of the products from my Spring post are products that are now constants in my daily/weekly routine. They were products that I didn’t even know I needed (these Drunk Elephant sunshine drops, this Charlotte Tilbury magic powder, this Moroccanoil hair oil, and these Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare glow pads for my face), and now I love them and use them all the time! Click HERE to head back to that post to see all that I had to say.

The post today will be organized into 2 sections. 1) New to me products included in the event. 2) Tried and true products included in the event.
NEW TO ME PRODUCTS
One more thing before we get started: If you aren’t a Rouge or VIB member at Sephora, just shop this like a regular post. The items won’t be on sale, BUT THEY ARE STILL AWESOME and you can still buy them!
I tried several new products for this post. Some were based on the reviews of other bloggers I follow, and some were based on the online reviews that I combed through. I didn’t want to waste my time or money trying products that didn’t already have a solid fan base, and as a result I found some products that I am incredibly excited about.
Sol De Janeiro Bum Bum Cream – Okay, this product has been all over blogger’s feeds for a good long while. People scream and shout about it. People say it smells like a little piece of Heaven. People says they will never go without it. But even with all of the hype, I’m going to be honest, I had no idea what it was for. WELL. It’s what it sounds like. It’s cream. For your bum bum. But not just your bum bum. For your whole body really. It’s thick and rich, and it’s supposed to combat dryness, dullness, and uneven texture. And it’s formulated to promote firmness and elasticity. In a nutshell, after reading tons of online reviews (and seeing some before and after pictures), users are reporting that it combats cellulite! WHOAH.
I like that it’s not oily or greasy, and it really just absorbs into the skin. It has a very subtle shimmer to it, but don’t let that scare you! It’s VERY subtle.
If you have issues with cellulite, the reviews on the site will convince you that you HAVE to try this cream. Other reviewers say it’s worked wonders on their dry and cracked heels and hands, so I’m going to start putting it on my heels for sure.
If you want to pamper your skin and perhaps have smoother and less dimply legs, try it!
Georgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation – I was VERY excited to try this foundation. A couple of other bloggers I follow use this, and I always think their makeup looks amazing and their skin looks flawless. I was of course initially hesitant to buy foundation online, but when I went to check it out, I found this cool tool where you pick your current foundation brand and color, and they recommend a color match for you! I thought it was GENIUS, so I put in my information and anxiously awaited receiving the product.
I was convinced that I was going to love it.
But real talk here. The shade was off for me and it was too white for my skin. In all fairness, it’s probably because the current foundation information I gave was based on the foundation I was wearing before Summer, and now that my skin is “sun-kissed” (whether from the actual sun or sunless tanning products), the shade just didn’t match up to my skin color right now. I should have thought of that before entering in my information.
I’m going to hang on to this though and see if I love it once my sun-kissed skin says goodbye. But I’ve got to be honest, now that I have the next product, I might be looking sun-kissed all year.
Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops – This is one of those blogger products that I’d been hearing about for well over a year. I’d been dying to try it and had tried to purchase it several times, but it was always sold out.
Well, it finally got restocked and I jumped on it!
The verdict? Did it live up to all of the blogger hype?
The answer is HECK YES. This product has blown me away.
Here’s what you do. You mix drops of it into your favorite moisturizer (I use this Charlotte Tilbury one). The more drops, the deeper the tan. You rub it all over your face, being careful not to miss any spots. And within a couple of hours, a “tan” develops. It’s magical really.
I appreciate that you can control the deepness of your tan with the number of drops you use. They call it “controlling your glow” and I’m here for it.
I grabbed the medium formula, and I’ve been using 3 drops with moisturizer. I feel like it gives me an even bronze glow that’s not streaky or orange. Now that I’m getting more comfortable with it, I’m going to up the number of drops to achieve a deeper glow, but I’m going to do it gradually.
I think it’s best to apply it at night so it can develop while sleeping. When using 3 drops, the color fades in about 3 days, so I think I will probably use this product about twice a week right now. When I up the number of drops, the “tan” might stick around longer and I might go longer between uses.
I would like to direct your attention to my arm in the picture below. Do you see the horizontal stripe below my wrist and the vertical stripe down my forearm? That’s my sun-kissed glow’, y’all! I tested the product on my arm before using it on my face, and I think it shows the results quite nicely!
If you are still on the fence, I highly recommend hopping over to the site to read some of the other reviews. Because MY GOODNESS, people are obsessed with this product.
Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops / Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick – When I did my 5 Minute Face post back in the Spring, I wanted to give 3 varying shade choices for lipsticks (a berry, a red, and a nude). I went with “Pillow Talk” for my nude, and I’ve been very happy with it.
I’d never owned a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick before, and I found that I really liked the brand. It stays on well (YAY!), and it wasn’t drying to my lips (YAY!). I grabbed the “berry pink” for Fall and love it so much. I especially love it paired with the gloss below.
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Glass Bomb Lip Lumizer – I’m a lip gloss lover, but I’m SUPER picky. It can’t be sticky, it can’t have a weird smell, it needs to have staying power for a gloss, and it needs to be VERY SHINY. After seeing the number of 5 star reviews and reading the words “explosive shine”, I grabbed this one. It goes on very smoothly, the applicator is a good size and shape, it’s hydrating, and it truly offers explosive shine.
This very well could be my favorite lip gloss ever. I got the shimmering rose nude, but I’m definitely going to grab the shimmering pink as well. One more thing I love about it? The scent! It smells like peaches and vanilla. It’s not overwhelming at all though, it’s just delightful.

Youth To The People Power Toner – I have large pores in my nose, and nothing seems to really help them. After reading the reviews on this product, I knew I had to try it. Sadly, this product just arrived and I haven’t had time to use it to give an accurate review. I’ll keep y’all posted on my thoughts after extended use, but if you have large pores, go read the online reviews. I’m telling you, they will convince you to give it a try.
Youth To The People Power Toner
Kevin Aucoin Eyelash Curler – I’ve never used an eyelash curler in my makeup routine. I threw this one in my cart on a whim based on reviews I read, and I love it. There was a bit of a learning curve for me since I’ve never used one before, but I’m getting the hang of it. I start at the base of my lashes and pulse up for a nice curved curl. The first several times I used it I didn’t pulse (and I squeezed too hard), and I had bent lashes instead of curled lashes. Not a good look.
If you are used to using an eyelash curler, you should be able to use this one without any trouble. No pinching and incredible reviews!
Huda Beauty New Nude Eye Shadow Palette – This “all-in-one eye shadow palette consists of 18 highly-pigmented shades, ranging from flattering mattes to shimmer-drenched hues, and has everything you need to transform your lids.”
This Huda Beauty Palette is gorgeous, and I’m having fun with it, but I don’t know enough about applying eye makeup to really use it to its full potential. I have played around with it some, and I find that I like to apply one of the matte colors all over the lid, and then I wet a flat brush to press in the glitter shadows. If you do know a thing or two about applying eye shadow, I’m thinking you will be OBSESSED. I mean, it does have over 1,000 5 star reviews.
Look how pretty the colors are. I wish that a brush was included, but that’s the only complaint I have.
There are 18 eye shadows in all that include matte shadows, glitter shadows, and pearlized shadows.

TRIED AND TRUE PRODUCTS
In addition to the new products above, I also wanted to review some of my tried and true favorites with you!
Let’s start out by talking about the Drunk Elephant Sunshine Drops. I combine them with my Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream…and I’m telling you….MAGIC.
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream / Drunk Elephant Sunshine Drops
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream – I just started using this product back in March. I added into my routine after reading about it on several blogs and in several “BEST OF” beauty articles. Lots of users compared it to the much more expensive La Mer line, but said they preferred this product! That was it, I was convinced I needed to try it. Officially, it’s a cream that floods skin with moisture for a glowing complexion in a flash. A little goes a long way with this cream, and it’s not greasy, but it is incredibly hydrating. There is a very light rose scent to this cream, and I don’t normally care for rose, but it doesn’t bother me at all.
I’ve been using this product for a little over a month, and I’m now devoted to it. It has a cult following and a large group of women that absolutely swear by it. From reading reviews, it seems I will love it even more (if that’s possible) after extended use.
Drunk Elephant Sunshine Drops – This product is awesome. AWESOME. You can wear it by itself, or you can mix it in with a moisturizer or serum. I obviously mix it with the magic cream. It gives you a really pretty glow/tan immediately! The difference between these and the drops above is that this just make up and will wash right off. I will use this when I’m not doing full make up but still want to have color. Now, it doesn’t give full coverage, but I LOVE IT. This product also has a lot of amazing ingredients in it that are great for your skin. It’s made of vitamins, antioxidants, platinum peptides, and barrier-supportive fatty acids that defend skin from environmental free radicals. YES, PLEASE!
Below you can see how I just add a pump to the magic cream and then blend it together before applying it all over my face and neck. I’m telling you, it just gives your face a wonderfully healthy looking GLOW.

Other FAVORITE items included in this event:
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Powder – Believe the name. This powder is magic. Officially, it’s “a loose setting powder that blurs imperfections, veils shadows, and visibly boosts radiance.” I swipe it on, and I love the look. It really does seem to just even everything out and give a beautiful matte finish, without settling in lines! Some reviewers complain of a smell, but I haven’t noticed anything! I’m Color 1, which is fair.
This Stila Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner is one of my tried and true products that I cannot live without. It is by far my favorite eyeliner product I’ve ever used, and I can’t imagine ever switching. I use a soft grey called “alloy” because the black is too stark for me. It glides on SO easily, and it stays on with no smudging during the day. Now, don’t let the “liquid” title scare you. It is like a very fine tip marker that you just easily glide on for a very clean line, and you can decide if you want a thin or a thick line. It doesn’t skip, it doesn’t smudge (it really does stay all day), and it’s so easy. I can apply it in 1 stroke using only one hand! No need to pull the eye taught or anything!
This Dior Lash Extender was one of the products I discovered through a sample a couple of years ago, AND NOW I SWEAR BY IT. I sweep it on my lashes right before I put on my mascara. It both lengthens and plumps my lashes with white fibers, but they don’t fall off into my eyes. It’s pretty magical. It goes on white, so you do have to wear mascara over it, but the white doesn’t show through after the mascara goes on. I do one eye with the lash extender and then the mascara before moving to the other eye. I’ve found that my results are best when the mascara goes on before this product dries.
I’d used the body pads for years, but for some reason I’d never used the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare glow pads for face until my Spring haul. I clean and exfoliate my face before unfolding the pad and rubbing it in a circular motion all over my face. I do each side, and then my forehead, and then my chin and neck. It definitely gives my face needed color that lasts several days. I used them all summer long and loved the results. But now that I have the Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops, I think I’ll be rotating between the two. The drops give you more control over the color, and because of that can give you a much deeper color than the glow pads.

Yes! Love Sephora (and deals!) I have the Isle of Paradise full body self-tanning mist (in Medium) and looooooooooove it. You just spray it on (it goes on clear) and use a mitt to rub it in and you get a super nice, natural-looking tan. I also love Dr. Dennis Gross!

Yes, please keep doing these posts! I’m going to be adding that lipstick and gloss (maybe glosses) to my cart tomorrow!

I love the Armani foundation! It is not sold at all Sephora stores, but it was worth it to travel to a store that carries it and get 3 different shade samples to try. Once I got the color right, I cant wear anything else!
Cant wait to try the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream now.
Shay Shull says
Sheaffer! How have we not talked about that Nude palette? It is hands down, without a doubt, my FAVORITE!!! I started using it in March and have not looked back!!
V says
Isle of Paradise drops are amazing! I’ve been using the Fenty gloss since it first came out and it’s my favorite gloss and not terribly sticky. I tried the Pillow Talk lipstick because of your review last time and it’s a perfect everyday color. Thanks for your honest reviews!!
Sara says
I was hearing about the Isle of Paradise drops all spring but Sephora was always sold out. So I bit the bullet and ordered from the UK. And I’m addicted. I got the medium (green) as well and have used them all summer. Now is the perfect time to re-stock & I think I’ll add the water to my cart as well. Thanks Sheaffer!
Georgine says
Yay! I do virtually all my Sephora shopping online now that I live in a small town. I appreciate your reviews and am about to hit the sale! Thanks!!
MindaC says
I struggle with dry skin and chapped lips in the fall and winter so I ordered the Bum Bum Cream set from Amazon that included their Lip Butter. OMG, I think I might like the lip butter even more than the cream and I like it a lot.
Sheaffer says
Oooooh! Good to know, Minda! I’ll order some for my next haul!!! Thanks for the tip. xoxo
