I really have a knack for blog post titles.
First I have an outfit for you guys, then I have a video that will blow your mind, and then I shame you into buying a scarf.
It’s gonna be fun.
This is a look that was definitely inspired by Pinterest, even though I don’t have a
specific picture that was my inspiration.
courage now because of Pinterest.
I felt cool in this combo!
I felt skinny too.
And let’s face it, even if the outfit had been ugly,
I still would have worn it out in public since it made me feel skinny…
probably several days in a row (if we’re being honest).
That’s just the type of girl I am.
*{Go see what my friend Alison at Get Your Pretty On has to say about her new leggings HERE!}
They also come in black and taupe suede. LOVE the taupe suede.
I can’t say enough about it. I wear it all the stinkin time now, and I get compliments on it each and every time I wear it. I don’t know why I don’t have more pictures of myself in it. HERE is the first post I did wearing this jacket (there is a story in this post not to be missed!), and below
And then, before I walked out the door, I decided to see how I could change up the look with different scarves.
#1 / #2
Speaking of scarves,
And let me tell you, it’s crazy hard to write down how to tie a scarf.
Mostly I just fool with them until I think they look good.
Sometimes though, I refer to this scarf tutorial that I found a couple of months ago.
I thought I shared this with you guys before in a link, but I can’t find it…so maybe I never did?!?
Y’all.
This video ROCKS.
It shows you how to tie a scarf 25 different ways, and it is just PLAIN FUN to watch.
More than that, doesn’t it make you want a scarf?
So…in honor of the scarf tutorial…I thought I would link to several really great scarves.
I can hardly believe at this time last year I had NO scarves. The first scarf I ever bought was this past summer. I know…weird to buy a scarf in summer. But I finally started looking at scarves as an accessory instead of a winter necessity.
THIS leopard one for under $20 at Nordstrom!
And it comes in 3 colors!
If you haven’t added a leopard scarf to your wardrobe, here’s your chance!
(also come in a bronze and a silvery color)
THIS one at GAP.
I have a plain grey scarf from GAP that is almost just like this one.
I love it because it is big and can be tied in lots and lots of different ways!
Looking towards spring, check out THIS fun polka-dot one from GAP also!
(JUST GOT AN e-mail that GAP is 30% off!!!!!)
It comes in 3 other colors also!
And listen, if you are still under the impression that scarves are solely for warmth…
you, AND MY HUSBAND are wrong.
They are magical, and they can transform an outfit from “eh” to “awesome”.
LOVE THIS one from Nordstrom.
So, that’s it for today!
I’m telling you, if you are still on the fence about scarves, GET OFF THE FENCE ALREADY.
Click HERE to see all of my scarf posts.
You might feel weird the first time you wear one, but the feeling will fade when you see how awesome you look. 🙂
Wait..that’s not it…just got a SALE e-mail from Banana Republic!
And listen, it’s not one of my go-to shops because it’s typically really expensive.
But 30% off everything makes it in my price range!
And just look at all of this spring goodness.
I am DEFINITELY picking up a pair of fun spring flats, and these might be the ones!
And that necklace? LOVE the navy and turquoise together!
And that striped skirt is screaming “Cassie – you are my mommy!”

Wow! Another e-mail!
30% off new arrivals and 60% off of already reduced items at my beloved LOFT.

Love, love, love your new boldness! And I'm so glad you finally joined the scarf world! And tell Chris, scarves are even better in the summer…they hide the basic white tank you're wearing…they add instant glam on a July day. They are meant for all seasons!

Love scarves! They add so much to any outfit. Such a cool video too. I have one way I always wear my scarves and need to start experimenting!
Alison @ Get Your Pretty On says
That video is amazing!!! I love looks #2 and #3, something about that light colored leopard with the neutrals really appeals to me. Great to see you rocking the leggings too!

I loved the video! The names of all of the styles were cracking me up…I have some practicing to do today! Thanks for sharing!

I like style 1 and 4 the best. I'll be saving that video when I et home. Also, you'll be so proud of me. I ordered a leopard scarf 2 weeks ago and I'm just waiting for it's arrival! Also I *hate* Francesca's! Everytime I go in there I spend like $40. I freaking love that store!
Carmel @ Our Fifth House says
Why do I always feel like I need to run right over to the mall after reading your posts?! 😉 I only have 4 scarves – can you believe it?! I feel like they make me look bulky -but I might need to get a leopard one anyway.
Tracy says
What a great video! Yes. I love a good scarf.

I'm the same way about a outfit, if it makes me feel good it's a instant favorite!!

Your posts are always informative and hilarious! Thanks for the daily laugh 🙂

All of these are great looks, but #4 is my favorite. You just encouraged me to go online and purchase an animal print scarf. I found a cool giraffe print similar to your leopard one. Thanks for the inspiration!

Haha, you're right, that scarf video was super cute. 🙂 Is it just me, or did she do infinity scarf twice? I love the waterfall, i've been trying to figure out how to do that for months!! Your outfit was very cute, and I agree that scarf #2 and #4 look the best.

U got off the fence and bought 4 scarves this past month, thanks to you! I've been so inspired and enjoy shopping again. Look forward to reading your blog everyday 😉

That skirt is TOTALLY calling me!! So funny, I actually saw it some mood board today and thought, 'neeeed that skirt! wonder where it's from?!" — and here you are, directing me!! Thank you!
Daliene says
I like look #4 usually. I have sooo many scarves. They are great for covering up unexciting tops 🙂
Tessa says
Oh my gosh, yes. One of my coworkers is always making fun of me for wearing scarves because "it's not that cold!" Scarves are my favorite accessories, but guys just don't understand that they are for more than just keeping your neck warm. They really do spice up an outfit!
