Outfits, Decor, and Food for the 4th!

Happy Monday, y’all!

We had a great weekend at the ranch celebrating Father’s Day. Lots of grilling, lots of chilling, and lots of time spent being thankful for Chris and my own dad. I’m just so grateful for the amazing dads in my life.

Now switching gears, I have a hard time believing that we are already 3 weeks into summer. We have absolutely been living it up, and you can bet we are going to continue to. We’ll be back at the ranch with a ton of friends for July 4th, and WE CAN’T WAIT.

In preparation for the 4th, my post today is dedicated to ALL THINGS FESTIVE! We’re talking food, home decor, and fashion… so get ready!

 

GRAPHIC TEES

Let’s kick things off today with some really fun graphic tees!

Now listen, I’ve ordered more than my fair share of questionable graphic tees from Amazon in the past that have been stiff and scratchy… BUT ALL OF THESE ARE GREAT! So soft, not stiff at all, and OH SO CUTE. All of them are under $22, and some are under $15. I ordered some in a medium and some in a large, and both worked for most (although the large would be way too big for #9). I don’t like a clingy t-shirt, so I tend to size up and go for a relaxed fit.

I ordered the Loves Jesus and America Too tee (seen bottom right in picture above) before Memorial Day, and I wore it all weekend long. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. A medium is true to size for me in a tee like this, but this one was much longer and wider than most sized mediums tee. You might want to consider sizing down, but I happen to like the really oversized look.

Over Memorial Day I wore it one day with denim shorts, and I wore it one day to the lake as my cover up because it was plenty long. Since then, I’ve slept in it countless times because it’s just so dang soft.

You definitely need to grab it for the 4th! It’s SO CUTE! The graphic says ‘Loves Jesus and America Too” (says it small on the front and in a big design on the back).

I bought the pillow/slipper sandals on a whim, and I’m glad I did. Now, be prepared for the fact that they are very chunky, but they are also very comfy. They’ve got over 40,000 5-star reviews.

I love a short sleeve cardigan, and this one is extra cute. It’s got nautical vibes, but it’s also super festive with the blue and white stripes and the red accents. You could of course wear it open over a tank or tee, but I like it buttoned up and worn alone too. Imagine it with white jeans. YES, M’AM.

It also comes in a solid red (I probably need it, right?), brown, black, white, and navy.

This ruffle sleeve blouse is adorable and comes in blue and white too. First of all, this one is a perfect red. It’s much more vibrant than in the pictures, and I love it.  The fluttery sleeves are feminine and flirty, and the lace inset and tiny ruffle on the collar are just plain cute. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Check out the beaded star earrings. They are so festive and make every outfit so dang cute!

This USA tee is super soft and super cute. I’m wearing the blue, but it also comes in white, pink (which looks more like a heathered red), and army green. It’s a simple tee,  it’s under $15, and I absolutely love it.

This babydoll peplum top is a dark navy. I actually have this tee already in red and in blush from year’s past, so I knew I would like the style and fit. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. This one also comes in white, red, and a lighter blue option as well.

This eyelet top is super cute and super stretchy. Smocked up top, little flutter sleeves, and a lacy look through the body. Great all summer, but when styled with red, white, and blue – perfect for the 4th! I’m wearing a small here and it’s pretty body conscious, so I think I would prefer the fit of the medium.

Okay, who wants to look like a movie star at the pool and the beach this summer? Buy this caftan cover up, throw on this pair of sunglasses, and people will be asking you for your autograph in no time. The colors, the graphic pattern, the drapey fit, the cinched in waist…I LOVE IT ALL. The tie waist is a hot pink, but it would still look great styled with red.

I had been wanting to try a white sandal, but I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on them. These were the perfect option for me! They’ve got a bit of cushion on them, and I’ve walked all day in them with no problem. They come in several colors. For size reference, I sized up a 1/2.

They come in TONS of colors, metallic options, and even a blingy pair!

The colors aren’t Americana, but the stars still make the set a bit festive. It’s very soft and has a cute fit. I’m wearing the medium.

Now let’s talk home decor!

Important to note: After I put the #3 adorable red striped bowl in the collage, when I was grabbing the link I realized that the interior bottom of the bowl has a holly leaf. OOPS. So the bowl is actually Christmas themed, but hey, nobody will know that if it’s full of pasta salad or chips. 🙂

I love a great set of kitchen towels. Like I always say, a new set of kitchen towels can inspire me to clean the entire house. FOR REAL. I clicked “add to cart” the second I saw these. The pattern, the colors, the ruffle, the vintage look. IT’S ALL SO GOOD. And yes, I cleaned the house. 🙂

FOOD FOR THE 4th

I thought it would be fun to gather up some recipes that would be great for July 4th or any backyard barbecue! Some of these I’ve shared in the past, and others are ones I’ve pinned and hope to make in the future.

Do you remember years ago when I shared this Campfire Brie recipe? It was absolutely delicious and a real showstopper. Look how gorgeous it is!

Doesn’t this look like the makings of a great dish?

I stumbled upon this pasta salad recipe when browsing Pinterest one day, and it did not disappoint. It was fresh, flavorful, and pretty too! It’s a Cilantro Lime Pasta salad, and it was absolutely delicious. I’ve made it several times now, and we really loved it when I added it shrimp to it one night.

It was only a couple of weeks ago that I shared this next combo.

This is the base of a salad that I love to make. I typically add in tons of butter lettuce to the mix you see below, top it with croutons and whatever dressing I want, and toss it all up like a regular salad. But sometimes I even eat this combo just as a side dish (without the lettuce). This little mix is awesome on top of cottage cheese or hummus too.

What you’re looking at: cherry tomatoes, avocados, purple onion, and grilled corn cut off the cob. (I like to grill extra corn when we are having corn as a side dish, because I love adding the leftovers to salads throughout the week.) I toss this mixture with a little olive oil, red wine vinegar, and a seasoning blend that’s a mix of kosher salt, lemon pepper, garlic powder, and coarse ground pepper. I let it marinate in the fridge a bit, and it’s just so flavorful.
