Outfit Planning N Sale Edition | Ambassadors Can Shop

I know many of you have been waiting for today! If you are Ambassador level at Nordstrom, today is the day you can finally shop! CUE THE PARTY HORNS, Y’ALL!

Tomorrow will be when we start to see popular items sell out super quickly, but there are a handful of items that will start selling out today.

HIGH SELL OUT RISK

I looked back at last year’s posts (as well as some notes I kept in my calendar last year), and I thought it would be helpful to highlight some items that were the first to sell out last year.

This Barefoot Dreams lounge set is to die for. DID YOU HEAR ME? IT’S TO DIE FOR.

Is it expensive? YES.

Is it worth it? ALSO YES.

Last year it sold out in most sizes and colors by the end of day 2.

It’s got the softness of a blardigan, but with lounge set styling. IT’S INCREDIBLY LUXURIOUS. I’m wearing a medium, but it was just too long and baggy for my liking. I ended up ordering a small and it was perfect. And please keep in mind that this set (as well as everything else from the Barefoot Dreams line) makes an EXCELLENT gift for pretty much any lady in your life. Moms, mother-in-laws, grandmothers, sisters… everybody loves Barefoot Dreams.

I own countless pairs of these pajamas in both the short and long version.

This is the floral print from last year, but this year I’m grabbing the “burgundy royale abstract floral”.  I also love the “pink daydream” pattern. They will be the first colors/patterns to sell out for sure!

Buttery soft and just wonderful to lounge around/sleep in. Plus, you’ll look so cute while lounging/sleeping. 😉 For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. The smalls fit, but I liked the little bit of extra length on the shorts, and I liked extra roominess in the medium top too.

These are my favorite jeans from the sale this year! They are from our beloved Wit and Wisdom, and they have the Ab Solution technology we have all come to rely on! The thick elastic waistband on the interior of the jeans cinches you in, smooths you out, and somehow remains incredibly comfy. These jeans are VERY flattering. I have already tried them on and absolutely LOVE them. The ankle length and the frayed hem are just what I was looking for. I think these are super similar to the fit and look of Mother jeans (also in the Nordstrom Sale), but they are a fraction of the price. True to size for me, but as always with Wit and Wisdom, you can usually size down if between sizes.

People that are already Wit and Wisdom fans are going to scoop these drawstring ponte pants up so freaking fast. I highlighted them twice last year as soon as I found them (I think it was in September), and they sold out both times. Now is your chance to grab them ON SALE!

Wear them casually with sneakers or dress them up with flats or mules for the office. They are AWESOME pants.

There are so many really great sneakers in the sale this year that I’m having trouble deciding on which ones I’m going to go with.

I will say that I think these Gazelles are going to fly off the shelves. They are going to be so cute with my ankle jeans and sweaters! Or even just my new ankle jeans and a simple white tee!

LAST YEAR’S TOP PICKS (WITH NEW COLORS!!!)

What’s that? Cashmere on sale? SIGN ME UP! I love grabbing a new color of one of these sweaters every year in the sale (last year I grabbed this vibrant hot pink), and this year it’s going to be the “pink puff” for me. It’s the loveliest palest blush.

I love the sweater with jeans, but it also looks great with a dressy pant. It’s not fitted, but it’s not slouchy either, it’s just a great fit. It’s soooo soft and lightweight. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Here’s the famous cashmere sweater again, but now it’s styled for the office! The color below looks just like the “tan doeskin heather” that’s available this year.

This v-neck sweater is an awesome closet basic that you will find yourself reaching for all fall long because you can style it so many ways, and at only $44.99 it’s a total steal. The deep v is very flattering, and the sweater is lightweight and soft. You’ll for sure want to grab it in 1 color, but there are 5 to choose from this year, so I bet lots of us grab 2. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium for a relaxed fit. The small definitely fit, but I preferred the slouchy look of the medium (my regular size). I would suggest sizing down if between sizes.

Y’all loved the long line cardi from last year, and it’s back. It’s longer, thinner, and dressier than a lot of the chunkier cardigans that you often see during the fall.  I love it with jeans, but this would also be great for the office. For size reference, I’m wearing the x-small here, but I need a small.

This year it comes in black, a warm brown, and an indigo blue.

Now let’s talk about the jeans that you see both in the picture directly above as well as the picture below.

If you don’t yet have a pair of itty bitty boot cut jeans, you better fix that right now! These jeans will make you feel 5 pounds thinner and 2 inches taller than you actually are. They are so stretchy, so forgiving, and incredibly flattering. Pair them with a heel or chunky booty and you will have legs for days! I’m wearing my regular size 4 (NOT petite), but the majority of people size down in these because they are sooooo stretchy and forgiving. But don’t worry, if you get the right size, they absolutely hold their shape throughout the day.

This long sleeve tee became a favorite two years ago. I already own several colors and wear them alllll the time. This is the “purple iris” from last year, but this year there are 6 options including a vibrant “pink violet” that I love. The tee is lightweight, soft, and I find it to be the perfect top for leggings. It covers the bum, it’s obviously a super relaxed fit, and it has thumbholes. It’s a total steal during the N Sale at just under $30. Grab AT LEAST 1. For size reference, I’m wearing a small. I also have a couple of colors in medium for a more oversized fit.

Y’all know the 7/8 leggings are a favorite of mine, I always grab a new pair every year during this sale. The 7/8 length are my favorite length. I love how they hit me right at the ankle without any extra fabric. They are high waisted and boast supportive mesh that sucks you in, and they have a side pocket for your phone! I wear a small in Zella leggings.

FALL OUTFIT PLANNING

Y’all know I love styling outfits and creating these inspiration collages, so I thought it would be fun to create outfits made up of pieces just from the Anniversary Sale! I hope to create lots of these outfit collages during the course of the sale, but I have several to get us started today.

This outfit is totally basic, but so flipping cute! I’m absolutely IN LOVE with this sweater and these jeans.

Well, this is an outfit that I want to live in. And both the sweatshirt and the leggings come in several colors.

Back to the Gazelles again, but this time they’re styled with a basic white tee and jeans. The sneaks kick up the outfit several notches. Like lots and lots of notches.

We’re sticking with the same jeans, but I’m dressing them up just a bit here with a fabulous cashmere sweater and some DARLING denim Mary Jane mules. I love this outfit. It’s so chic.

These are the drawstring pants that I’ve been screaming about since September. It’s a super cool vibe to dress them down with a denim jacket and sneakers. But as you’ll see tomorrow, they’re also great dressed up for the office.

WHAT’S CAUGHT MY EYE

The items I’m highlighting today are things that I have my eye on!  LOOK HOW CUTE EVERYTHING IS!

There are lots of great staples that I can see myself wearing all fall long. I’m totally dying over the striped roll neck sweater (#4) and the ankle jeans (#5). In fact, I think they’ll be some of the first items to sell out. And as you can see, there are lots of shoes that I’m interested in this year.
