THE CARDIGAN YOU NEED
You saw this same cardi on me on Wednesday in the Keep or Return post. I was wearing it with bootcut jeans and booties, and here I styled it differently with girlfriend jeans and the gold chain sandals!
I’m telling you, YOU NEED THIS CARDIGAN. It’s ON SALE and FANTASTIC.
Mine is the “tan cobblestone heather” and it’s a beautiful neutral, but it comes in several other colors if you’re looking for something else. It’s lightweight with an open front, and it drapes beautifully. Its weight makes it a PERFECT spring and summer cardigan. I love it paired with my itty bitty boot cut jeans, but I’ll wear it with straight leg jeans, skinny jeans, white denim, denim shorts, and black slacks! It’s SUPER versatile and can easily be dressed up or down. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
I think it looks very expensive.
The gold bracelet stack is another Amazon find, and it’s under $16! My exact stack is “Style-3”, and this stack can be worn on it’s own or layered with other single bracelets or stacks. The colorful beaded stretch bracelet is one of my newest Kendra Scott pieces, and I think it’s so dainty and pretty.
Here’s another close up look at all 3 Amazon jewelry pieces I’m wearing. All 3 are totally classic and great staples to own.
These are the sandals I’m wearing in the above outfit, and they are the same that I was wearing in many of the outfits on Wednesday’s post.
They are super chic, look designer, and are much less expensive than you’d think. THEY’RE ONLY $34.95! They are very comfortable, true to size, and I love the super slim profile. And I of course think the chunky gold chain makes the sandal. Now I will say this, the chain makes a bit of a clanking sound when I walk…but I don’t think I care. BECAUSE LOOK HOW CHIC.
MY FAVORITE WHITE JEANS
Every year I get hundreds of requests for a great pair of white jeans. So every year I go on a search for a great pair of white jeans.
BUT GREAT NEWS! My favorite tried and true pair from last year is still available this year!
Now listen, I found this out the hard way. When I cleaned my closet out this year, I think I must have accidentally gotten rid of my beloved white jeans. There is NO WAY I would have given them away on purpose.
Anyway, I knew I had to get a new pair for this year, so I ordered several pairs from several different brands including Kut from the Kloth, Weatherly, Wit and Wisdom, Liverpool, and Madewell. It should be NO SURPRISE to any of us that the Wit and Wisdom denim won my heart.
What did come as a surprise is that after I received the jeans, I realized how similar they were to the white jeans I had accidentally given away. I was so excited to find another great pair, but when I went to grab the link, I REALIZED IT WAS THE EXACT SAME PAIR. Yep, I bought the same pair of white denim 2 years in a row, and I fell in love with the jeans both times.
Actually, my favorite white “jeans” are officially called “ankle skinny pants”. However, I totally think of them as just super soft and awesome white jeans. Now that I see that they aren’t called jeans, I get it, because they are SO DANG SOFT and stretchy….but I really do think of them as jeans and will style them like they are jeans. They are 53% cotton, 29% polyester, 15% rayon, and 3% spandex. I think there must be at least 5% unicorn dust in them too because they’re just that good.
Now, full disclosure, you can see the pockets a bit in them. This is usually a deal breaker for me with white jeans, but for some reason it’s not for me with these jeans. I’ve decided that I actually prefer to see the pockets a bit over having white jeans with fake pockets. I really don’t like the fake pockets, so I’m definitely willing to accept seeing some of the pocket.
So now I’m going to style the jeans in several different outfits for you, and I’m going to do it with the tops that you saw with regular denim in Wednesday’s post!
These jeans are really stretchy, very slimming, and incredibly comfortable. I love the white button and the little side slits at the ankle. They aren’t see thru, but I of course still recommend wearing nude undies. They actually come in 8 colors, and I predict that some of you will like the fit and comfort so much that you will end up ordering them in at least 1 more color.
Now let’s talk sizing. Last year I wore these in a regular size 4. This year I ordered them in a 6P. Now remember, I didn’t realize I was ordering the same pair of jeans, but I liked the idea of them being not super tight and a little bit cropped. I often order up a size in white jeans, and if I’m getting a petite I often order up a size too.
To sum it up, these do run a bit big, so you probably want to consider sizing down from the size you normally get in white jeans. Both the regular 4 and the 6P both fit me, but this year I’m going to be rocking the 6P.
This crewneck sweater is business in the front, party in the back. I mean, it’s a preppy party, but it’s still a party. And it’s ON SALE.
It’s soft in the front, and the pinstripe fabric in the back is like a button-down shirt material. I’m wearing a small, and there is still plenty of room, so I would suggest sizing down. It will look awesome with white jeans.
This top is a gauzy cotton blend, and I’m in love. I’m wearing the “violet stone”, but gosh I love the white and the coral too. The sleeves are a double flutter, the neckline has tiny little pleats, and the split neck is just the right length. It’s just a pretty little top! I’m wearing a medium.
And an up-close bracelet shot, just because I’m loving this little combo so much!
This floral flutter sleeve top is from the same maker as the top above, and it’s the same cut too! There are differences though.. the fabric is more of a silky rayon, and it’s obviously a floral print. It’s adorable. I’m wearing a medium in this one too.
So I’m not really sure if this is a true military jacket or not, but I’m calling it one because it’s army green and because I’ll totally style it like I do other military jackets. What makes this jacket better (totally superior, actually) is that it’s incredibly soft and stretchy. And great news, it’s ON SALE! Like it feels like a cozy sweatshirt, but it looks oh so chic! This jacket is FANTASTIC. Prepare yourself to see it in lots of future outfits. For size reference, I’m wearing a small, so I would consider sizing down.
This split neck top is a great blouse with longer sleeves, and I know many of you who work in office environments prefer tops with longer sleeves. The vintage floral print is so pretty, and I love the detailing of the shirred neck and the gathered hem of the sleeves. It’s lightweight and the fabric is kind of crinkly, which makes it interesting. It also comes in a bright and happy coral floral. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
V-NECK MIDI DRESS
I placed a huge Nordstrom order a couple of weeks ago, and this v-neck midi dress was one of the winners from that order! There are two reviews for this dress so far online. One review is 1 star, and the other review is 5 stars! I’m a 5 star girl!
I really love this dress. I’m wearing a small, and I don’t find it to be shapeless like the first reviewer stated. I’m wearing a small here, and I think it’s actually quite flattering. It’s got a feminine v-neck, a great midi length, it’s a gorgeous color, and it has pockets!
And here it is styled with the denim jacket was sent to me by HSN, and I think it looks great! The jacket is soft, it’s stretchy, and it’s a bit longer than the other light wash denim jacket I have.
MY AMAZON BEAUTY FAVORITES
I get pretty frequent questions about my hair routine. People want to know what products I use on it, and they also want to know what appliances I use when styling it.
Well, guess what! You can grab all of my favorite hair products on Amazon!!!!
If you’re a regular reader, you know I fell in love with the Colleen Rothschild conditioning balm and hair serum when they first came out. But they’ve been sold out awhile due to production issues, so I was forced to find an alternative, AND I DID!
The Biolage shampoo and conditioning balm are excellent products. They leave my hair healthy and shiny. The balm is nice and thick and really seems to nourish my hair! The blow dry spray is a product I’ve been using for 2-3 years now, first introduced to me by my hair dresser. I spray it on my wet hair and it acts as a heat protectant when I’m drying and styling my hair. It also speeds up the drying process! I’m of course grateful that it’s keeping my hair healthy and strong, but you know what I really love out it? IT SMELLS INCREDIBLE. I would buy it for the smell alone, it’s pretty much just an added bonus that it’s good for my hair.
I bought the detangler brush just this past December and think it is absolutely amazing! I use it both on wet and dry hair, and it loosens tangles with as little damage to the hair as possible. Also, it’s hard to explain, but the design of the brush makes it super easy to handle. I love brushing my hair with it.
My current hair routine is that I shower and dry my hair at night with the Revlon dryer brush. Now, when I get my hair cut a couple of weeks ago, my hair dresser (Shout Out, Amanda!) told me she had her there was a NEW Revlon dryer brush in town. I checked it out when I got home, and she was right! The new model’s curling brush is a bit smaller AND there’s a medium heat setting. If you have long hair, I think you might still prefer the original Revlon dryer brush (because of the bigger brush size), but those with shorter hair will probably prefer the new dryer brush. And I really appreciate the new medium heat setting.
When I wake up in the morning, I pop my hair in my beloved rollers. I know some think it’s crazy that I use rollers still, but I find them to be sooooo easy to use and incredibly time efficient. Now, I don’t put them on my hair when they are piping hot. I put them in when they are just warm, so they create a nice soft curl and bounce. If I put them in when they are super hot, I find the curl is way too tight. Also, I don’t like the roller clips they come with because I feel like they crease my hair, so I purchased these roller picks. The rollers give my hair curl that lasts all day, and I swear the soft heat makes my hair look healthier and shinier. This particular pack comes with 5 large rollers. I put 1 at the crown, 1 on each side, and 2 on the bottom back.
My sweet friend Karla texted me last Friday letting me know that she bought one of the blouses from my March Amazon Haul. This week she texted me a picture of her wearing the blouse at work! And then she sent me a follow-up text later that day saying she had received countless compliments on the blouse!
She went with purple and I love it!
As a reminder, here it is on me from last week…
I think this chiffon blouse looks awesome with these white jeans, but it’s definitely nice enough to pair with slacks to wear to the office. The sleeves have a subtle puff, and all of the detailing from the v-neck to the pom pom pattern is so pretty and feminine. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
SOCIAL THREADS SALE
There’s a site-wide sale happening at Social Threads today thru Sunday. It’s their Friends and Family Sale, and it’s 20% OFF SITEWIDE (excluding bags and straps). Use code FF20 at checkout!
I know I just talked about these two items below on Wednesday, and if you already purchased them, I’m sorry. 🙁 I don’t know when their sales are going to be, so I can’t prep you for them or hold off on sharing items with you since I just don’t know.
That being said, if you loved the below items but didn’t grab them earlier this week, now is the time!
Here’s what I posted on Wednesday…
Social Threads dropped some new arrivals last week, and they let me pick a couple of things for them to send me. I of course immediately chose this embroidered dress. It is absolutely adorable. It’s fully lined, beautifully made, and the embroidery work is gorgeous. It’s got a little flutter sleeve with pompom trim. It’s my favorite a-line silhouette, and it’s all sorts of forgiving. This would make an excellent Easter dress!
I’m wearing a medium here, and you can see that I have lots of room in it. I would actually like to try a small and see if I like the fit of it better.
They also sent me this embroidered blouse. More gorgeous embroidery work! The details are so feminine and pretty, and I’m smitten with the colors. If you have a long torso, this shirt might be too short for you, but it’s not a problem for me. I’m wearing it out here, but I can still do a little 1/2 tuck as well. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
We went to the ranch over Spring Break and had the best time. The first day and night were just our family, so we soaked up lots of great time together. We did lots of fishing, lots of riding around the property, and lots of campfire sitting!
We even got to eat our favorite food truck meal. We went into town to visit with Chris’s sweet grandmother, and we picked Tejun up on the way home. Crawfish, shrimp, crab, and lobster. YUM!
Cousin Carson is always down for a good time.
Some of my favorite nights are spent around this campfire with friends and family.
On Thursday night we had friends join us! You can find outdoor lights HERE. We have these strung on our patio at home too!
This crew of boys was so much fun!
They gathered wood off and on for 2 days and built an incredible fort.
This is the same crew in September of 2021.
And here they are now!
