Hello. Everybody!
And HAPPY MONDAY!!!
Don’t worry, I’ve got some happiness and helpfulness for your Monday…
Today’s post is all about achieving an awesome summer GLOW!
Some of the products I’ll be talking about today are NEW TO ME, but others are TRIED AND TRUE favorites. Some are about protecting our skin, but most of them are about creating a pretty summer glow! And great news, it seems that some of the products in today’s post are being price-matched for 15% OFF right now! I’m not sure how long the price-matching will last though, so don’t delay!
LET’S PROTECT OUR SKIN
Before we get to the GLOW portion of the post, I want to share with y’all some items that are helping me protect my skin. I tell ya this, after getting the IPL laser done to treat my dark spots on my face, I DO NOT LEAVE THE HOUSE without SPF. I’ve been thrilled with my IPL results, and I want to protect the progress. The below products are helping me keep future sunspots at bay!
sandals / Coola Guava/Mango sunscreen (SPF 50) / Supergoop Mineral Powder Sunscreen / Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen/ Supergoop Glow Screen / Supergoop Hand Screen

FROM LEFT TO RIGHT:
Y’all know I’ve been wearing Supergoop for years, but I recently started using Coola too after borrowing a friend’s at the lake last summer. I love that it sprays on very evenly via a really light mist and it smells amazing. Coola has an array of products to choose from if you want to check them all out! They are all 15% OFF right now.
The Supergoop Hand Screen is a new (to me) product. I’ve recently started noticing brown spots popping up on my hands, so I’m going to start using this on the regular.
More on the Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen and the Supergoop Glow Screen in just a second.
The Supergoop Mineral Powder Sunscreen is a great product. It would be a great powder even if it didn’t have sunscreen in it, BUT IT DOES! I apply my face sunscreen in the morning as normal, but this powder makes it so easy to reapply SPF throughout the day. I like the “medium” shade.

There is a product missing from the above sun protection regimen.
Two summers ago I got a bad sunburn on my lips after a day at the beach, and they swelled up to almost twice their normal size. #itwasbad #realbad
I’ve ordered several lip sunscreens since then, I but I haven’t loved any of them because they’ve all had a funky taste! I’m hopeful for this one. It was supposed to arrive before today’s post, but it got delayed, so I’ll update you after I get it! (I actually ordered 2 to try, but the other brand I ordered is now sold out.)
There are many great sun protection products at Nordstrom, but you’re looking at my 2 very favorites right here.
Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen/ Supergoop Glow Screen
The Unseen Sunscreen IS AMAZING. I used it for the very first time last summer, and I became an immediate fan. It’s weightless, invisible, scent free, and gives incredible coverage and protection for your face. My skin absorbs it very quickly (like IMMEDIATELY!) and there is NO TRACE of it. It’s not oily or greasy, it gives a matte finish, and it doesn’t leave any white residue behind either. I think it goes on like a primer! It’s velvety in texture and it totally just glides on your skin, both under and even over your makeup. Also, from reading reviews it seems it’s awesome for people with super sensitive skin. I’m telling you, the product is absolutely incredible.
I used to only use Supergoop Glow Screen as my “foundation” when I knew I was going to be in the sun for a prolonged period of time.
HOWEVER.
I’ve come to love the product so much that I’m now wearing it every single day that I apply make-up in the spring and summer. I love the color, the glow, and the level of coverage it gives! And please don’t let the “GLOW” in the name scare you. It’s very subtle and just really pretty! And the SPF is just a huge bonus. Sometimes I wear it on it’s own, and sometimes I combine it with 1 or 2 other products (more on that in a minute.)

LET’S GET A PRETTY SUMMER GLOW!
I’ve tried TONS of self tanners over the last 10 or so years. TONS.
I would say the great majority I’ve tried have been a big ol’ fail. Some were too difficult to apply, some weren’t a pretty color, and some were super streaky.
St. Tropez Express Bronzing Mousse / self tanning mitt / jelly slide sandals (size down if between sizes)
Now, there are several I’ve found that I really like, but this St. Tropez Express Bronzing Mousse has to be my favorite of all times. I’m particularly excited about this being price-matched right now at Nordstrom for 15% OFF! (You can find lots of St. Tropez products ON SALE HERE.)
First of all, I LOVE the color. It’s a really pretty bronzy brown and I think it looks very natural. Like you just got back from the beach! Secondly, it is SO EASY to apply. See the mousse on the mitt below? Because of the color, you can see exactly where you are applying it! So if you miss a spot, you know and can correct it immediately.
Now, if you haven’t used the mousse before, the self-tanning mitt is ESSENTIAL for an easy and smooth application. It keeps your hands clean, and it really does make the application just about flawless. It helps you evenly distribute the mousse and it helps to blend it beautifully.
I’ll put a fresh application on tomorrow and take pictures so I can share them on Wednesday!

Now that we’ve talked about self-tanner for your body, let’s talk about self-tanner for your face.
When we’re talking about tanning your face, I’ve found the Tan Luxe The Face Illuminating Drops (medium/dark) are an awesome product. Now, full disclosure, I’m not currently using any self-tanning products on my face. I have another IPL treatment to go, and I feel like self-tanners cling to any dark spots I have, so I choose to get my color with bronzers right now. However, if you don’t struggle with dark spots, I highly recommend these illuminating drops. Also, I think it’s best to get the medium/dark because you can control the amount of color with the amount of drops you use. You can use less drops of the medium/dark product and it will last longer.
I mix them with the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream which I’ve been using for over 3 years now, and y’all know I’m devoted to it. This is a product I added into my routine after reading about it on several blogs and in several “BEST OF” beauty articles. Lots of users compared it to the much more expensive La Mer line, but said they preferred this product! That was it, I was convinced I needed to try it. Officially, it’s a cream that floods skin with moisture for a glowing complexion in a flash. A little goes a long way with this cream, and it’s not greasy, but it is incredibly hydrating. There is a very light rose scent to this cream, and I don’t normally care for rose, but it doesn’t bother me at all.
When using the Illuminating Drops, I recommend mixing 3 drops in with a dallop of the magic cream. Just increase or decrease the drops depending on how deep you want the color.
And if you’re one that applies lotion every single day, you might want to try the Tan Luxe Illuminating Drops for your body. You just combine some drops with your lotion and apply your lotion as usual. For those that apply lotion often anyways, adding your self-tanner into this already established step in your routine can be a real time saver. I don’t use lotion much at all, so I prefer the St. Tropez Express Bronzing Mousse.

Supergoop Glow Screen /Body Blur / It Cosmetics CC Cream
I mentioned previously that sometimes I wear the Supergoop Glow Screen as my only foundation. But more often than not, I find myself mixing it with other products.
I already reviewed the Glow Screen above, so let’s talk about the Body Blur and the CC Cream.
The Body Blur is the newest addition to my routine. A little goes a very long way with this product. I like mixing in a tiny little squirt with my GLOW SCREEN for a deeper and darker “tanned” color. It’s makeup and not a self-tanner, so it washes off, but it really does give great color.
Body Blur / Supergoop Glow Screen / It Cosmetics CC Cream
I started using the CC Cream last year, and it’s definitely a favorite. I’d been hearing about it for years, and now I know why. IT’S TOTALLY LEGIT. (And because I personally didn’t know for a lonnnnnnnnnng time, CC stands for “Color Correcting.” It makes so much sense now.) Ha! It really does a beautiful job of evening out skin tone while covering up redness and discoloration. It’s actually the #1 CC Cream in America with over 20,000 5 STAR REVIEWS! It will provide you with:
- Lightweight, hydrating texture that won’t crease or crack
- Hydrating anti-aging serum that improves the look of your skin
- Physical sunscreen with up to SPF 50+—perfect for even sensitive skin
But here’s why I like it: It gives me FULL COVERAGE (which I have recently come to appreciate), but it doesn’t look cakey or like “too much”. I’m telling you, friends noticed that I was doing something different, and they complimented me on it. I feel like it gives me an even complexion AND a youthful glow. So yeah, I’m hard core hooked. #givemethatglow
And like I said previously, I use different combinations of the below on different days.
Some days I only wear the Supergoop Glow Screen .
Other days when I want a little deeper of a color, I combine just a small little drop of the Body Blur with the Supergoop Glow Screen. It really deepens the color.
And on days when I want full coverage, I add the CC Cream into the mix. And it’s 15% OFF right now!

Some bronzers I’ve talked about in the past are no longer available, so I set out to find a new bronzer that I loved.
Well, I found one.
I. LOVE. THIS. BRONZER. It’s perfect for enhancing your skin tone and providing a natural sun-kissed look, or even accentuating a tan. It’s formulated to provide a smooth, even application on all skin types. It has a really subtle shimmer to it, but there’s not too much sparkle if you get the “refined golden”. I don’t like my face to be sparkly, but I do like it to look like I’ve been out in the sun (without the harmful effects of actually being tanned in the sun). Tons of MAC products are actually 15% OFF right now.
This bronzer brush is awesome. It’s super soft, it doesn’t shed, and it applies the bronzer beautifully. It’s also 15% OFF right now, along with lots of other Bobbi Brown products!

This is like the 3rd time I’m talking about the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Face Palette on the blog BECAUSE IT’S AWESOME.
If you recall, I even talked about it in my LET’S TALK EYES post because I use some of the colors for an all over eyeshadow as well. Listen, I’ve been using this palette for blush, highlighter, AND eyeshadow for many many months now.
Isn’t the palette GORGEOUS?!? I was sold when I realized it included a blush, a highlighter, and a bronzer. And then when I learned the products are supposed to mimic the effects of ambient lighting, I couldn’t throw it in my cart fast enough. It really does provide soft and beautiful color and highlighting.
The following tips are given for how to use it ON YOUR FACE: Apply Infinity Powder all over the face. Brush Glistening Bronze Light along the temples, hollows of your cheeks and jawline for enhanced definition, or sweep all over for a sun-kissed, bronzed glow. Apply Vibrant Heat or Luminous Rose to the apples of your cheeks. Apply Supernatural Strobe Light to the high points of your face including the tops of your cheeks, bridge of your nose, brow bone and cupid’s bow.

When preparing for this post, I bought several products that I wanted to try out that would help me achieve a summer look. Some of the products were a no go, but this Mini Glow Highlighter and Eye Color Set was a WIN!
Both products are easy to apply, easy to blend, and they both give a great glow!
Mini Glow Highlighter and Eye Color Set
I apply the highlighter onto my cheekbones and blend it with my fingers for a dewy and glossy highlight. You can also add it to your inner eye corners and cupid’s bow for added shine.
It’s very hard to capture the look in pictures, but I’m very happy with the results.

Now let’s talk lips.
Y’all know I often wear a raspberry lip, but in the summer I often times like to go more neutral. Charlotte Tilbury’s pillow talk lipstick is like the most famous neutral there is because it’s got some blush tones in it, which I love. However, I never wear it by itself. It always has to have a gloss on top.
I really love a shiny lip. I’m not into the matte lip look at all, and you will always find me wearing a gloss. In fact, I often wear just a gloss, but even if I’m wearing lipstick I’m always wearing a gloss over it (even if it’s just clear). The Juicy tubes lip gloss gives me a super shiny lip and it is SO hydrating! This is another product I ordered specifically in preparation for my this post that I’ve been very happy with! I LOVE IT. I wear it on it’s own a lot too. It’s a perfect neutral shade and shine to wear as a natural look (with a hint of color) with a (faux) tan!

When I want an extra shiny lip, I swipe on some of this Anastasia Diamond Gloss. This gloss gives me the extreme shine that I often desire. (Tons of Anastasia products are 15% OFF right now!)

So, I’m wondering….
WHO IS READY TO GET THEIR GLOW ON WITH ME?!?
You obviously don’t need everything from this post, but it would definitely be fun to pick out a product or two to help jump start your GLOW UP!
And because I always have a good laugh at myself after shooting a beauty post…check out my camera roll…
Don’t worry, I’m well aware my job is bananas. Haha! 🙂

I have used the unseen sunscreen for a while now. With oily skin, putting lots of products on my face before foundation is a recipe for disaster. First, I use Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum, then I take a small squirt of foundation (Estee Lauder Double Wear) and small amount of the unseen sunscreen; I rub them together and then apply to my face. I feel the sunscreen acts as a primer and keeps my make up fresher longer. For the lips, I like Elta MD and Coola products. Hope you find one you like!

Excited to see this. It was PERFECT weather in Kentucky this weekend…sunny and low to mid 80s with no humidity yet. I’m ready for all the summer skincare stuff. I use Unseen Sunscreen already but I really enjoyed a sample of Coola last year and I’m intrigued by the Hand Screen. A friend of mine who is a bit older than me but has amazing skin told me years ago to always use whatever you use on your face on your hands and neck because those areas will give your age away if you don’t give them the same love that you do your face.
Sheaffer says
YES! Great advice, Minda!!!! xoxo

I have 2 Clinique mascaras and the gift I’m trying to purchase and it said I didn’t spend enough😭
Sheaffer says
Hey, Katie! I’m so sorry! The ladies who were helping me at the Clinique counter let me buy it with just a $19 purchase and told me there wasn’t a minimum. But the fine print says differently. 🙁 It looks like you only qualify to buy it with a $45 purchase. So sorry I reported wrong information. I should have checked the details before writing! xoxo
