Every Spring I start the hunt for what is going to be my GO TO pair of neutral sandals. They are the sandals I consistently reach for again and again all Spring and Summer long, so each year I get excited to find the perfect pair! I do have some black wedges and some colored sandals in my closet that I enjoy wearing on occasion, but it’s always the more neutral pairs that I gravitate towards and find myself reaching for more than all the others.
Last year, I added two new pairs to my sandal collection. These were the flat sandals I purchased and loved (on sale and still available in some sizes), and I found these wedges and loved them SO MUCH that I named them a MUST HAVE. I still have both pairs and will definitely continue to wear them, but I want to add a new pair of neutral sandals to my closet this year. And lucky you, I’m taking all of you along on my quest. Haha!
As you will see below, I’m not picky about what I classify as a “neutral”. I think that neutral sandals can be cognac (both of my pairs from last year were cognac), nude, taupe, light blush, light grey, gold, or cork. All of those colors are incredibly versatile, and I think you’ll find that they go with just about any outfit that you put together.
I’ve pulled a great collection of neutral sandals together for all of us to check out today. Some are flat, some are wedges, and I’ve even got 1 pair of wedge sneakers. They can all be worn casually (some even to the beach and pool), but most of them can also be dressed up easily with a cute dress and worn to church, brunch, a shower, etc. You can also see that they are all different types of materials and textures. Some are more natural looking (like the cork options), and others are embellished with some gorgeous bling!
Since I already have two cognac pairs that I love, I want to mix it up a bit this year and go for a really light blush, gold, or nude. I found lots of great choices, and I narrowed them down to the ones I’m highlighting below. I sourced these sandals from three different retailers (Nordstrom, Amazon, and DSW) and they are all well stocked. (fyi: I already have #4, but I had to put them in the collage because I think they are the perfect super casual summer flip flop.)
- cork slide sandal / 2. bow flip flop / 3. almond patent slide sandal / 4. rose gold havianas / 5. wedge sneakers / 6. ankle strap blush wedges / 7. blingy slide sandals / 8. crystal slides / 9. studded gold slides / 10. espadrille wedges / 11. braided slide sandal / 12. raffia slide sandal / 13. peep toe wedges / 14. metallic sporty sandal / 15. snakeskin espadrille wedge / 16. perforated wedge sandal
I haven’t decided which ones I’m getting yet, but I’m leaning towards #3 (I love the patent!) and #10 (I love the rope detailing on the wedge). Number 10 also actually comes in a cognac/gold combo and a “latte” as well, which could also both be considered neutrals.
What are your favorites from the above collage? Sound off in the comments!
Now before you go, I’ve got a flashback picture to share with you! I mentioned the cognac pair of wedges I named as a MUST HAVE last year (that are still available!), and here I am wearing them last April. I’m sharing this particular picture again because I saw this weekend that my belted shorts from last year are back and available in new colors! These shorts sold out in a hot minute last year, so I am thrilled they brought them back.
Size References: I’m wearing a medium in the white tank, a small in the denim jacket (but I have a medium too when wearing more layers), a 4 in the shorts (true to size, maybe run a little big), and the wedges are true to size.
Click HERE to see the recap about the blogging conference where I wore this outfit. In the post, you can see the cognac wedges styled in several different outfits, and you can even see the black pair as well. Yes, I liked them so much I grabbed them in the black too.
More good news…..I found the bamboo bag on Amazon with near perfect reviews!
stonewashed must have denim jacket (called “sweet new”)/ tank / turquoise earrings / necklace probably 10 years old / belted shorts / must have wedges / bamboo bag
Click HERE to see the post where I officially named them a MUST HAVE.
They are true to size for me, but some readers that have wider feet have said that they sized up 1/2 a size. They are easy to walk in, look great with a variety of outfits, and are reasonably priced at just UNDER $80. Oh, and one more thing. They are DARLING.
See you back here on Wednesday! I have no doubt that it’s going to be an EPIC Bachelor recap.
And don’t forget to leave the number of your favorite neutral sandals!
Are y’all as excited for sandal season as I am?!?

I have your must haves from last year and absolutely love them. Just this weekend I got the #10s in the gold/cognac combo and I cannot wait to wear them. I’m really loving all the cork right now, so I might need to get a pair of flat cork.
Pennie says
I have #6 and 14. Both are the bomb dot com. I need you to help me find some cute white cutoffs that’s aren’t too momish and aren’t gonna show my butt!
Sheaffer says
I love both of those, Pennie! I got some Blank NYC white cut offs of Amazon, hopefully I can get pics in them for my Friday post! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

FYI the link for #3 is the same as #1… Both go to the cork. Can you add the patent link?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Kerry! It’s the same link! The almond patent are in there too, you just have to scroll through the color options. The cork is the one that populates, but the others are there! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

I recently ordered #11. I usually always wear a size 5 but had to reorder and purchase size 5.5. It is so cute in person. You should see it person, I think you would love it. I ordered the Caslon shorts today in olive and navy. I can’t wait to try them with my denim jacket.

Julee Patterson says
You need to try the Audrina sandals from Sole Society to your list – a flat wedge sandal – goes well with both shorts and/or dresses. They are the perfect shoes! I just ordered my 4th color this year!
Sheaffer says
I’ll check them out! Thanks, Julee! xoxo

I so wish I could wear your “must have” wedges, at size 10, the heel was just under 6 inches. If you find any that are similar and lower, please let us know!
Sheaffer says
WHOAH! I’m looking for lower profile heel options for Friday’s post! xoxo
Lori says
I have the #3’s and I LOVE them! Very comfortable!

Girl I LOVE all of these, but 2, 5, and 15 are my favs! I really love a wedge this time of year, Spring can be so wet and a wedge is so much easier to walk in. Such a great post! Makes me excited for Spring and Summer! Thanks for sharing!!!
