CUTE and COMFY BASICS

Happy Monday, everybody!  I hope everybody had a great weekend with their friends and family.  Chris and Carter went away on a boy’s weekend to the ranch on Thursday, and they return this afternoon.  They have been having the most amazing time, and although I of course have missed them like crazy, I love that they are having so much special time together.  But dangit, it’s time for them to come home!  I need to see their sweet faces!

I spent the weekend getting tons of stuff done around the house, and I might have even watched a Lifetime movie or 3.  SERIOUSLY.  I watched one where a husband tried to steal a toddler from his wife so he could give it to his other wife, and I watched another where the owner of a VRBO tried to kidnap women who were staying there. And let me tell you this, the small town sheriff was NO HELP.  Perhaps my favorite though was “All My Husband’s Wives”.  Several women were happily married, until the husband was murdered, and then they all found out about each other.  #goodtimes

Because I was so “busy” this weekend (haha!), my post today is short and sweet.  BUT THE STUFF IS GOOD, Y’ALL.  I’m so excited to share some great finds that I’ve recently discovered, and I’m pairing them with items that I now consider some of my fave GO TO pieces.  Some I discovered on my own (through trial and error ordering), and a couple were recommendations from y’all!

Let’s start with the reader recommendations…both undies!

I found these undies last year, and have talked about them several times on the blog.  When I mentioned them again in January as one of the Top 10 purchases from 2019, I had several readers suggest I also try the next 2 undies.  So, I did what any good blogger would do, and I ordered them to try so I could report back to y’all.

This 4 pack of lace thongs comes in several different color combos. The price is different depending on which pack you choose, but they range between just $14-$20.  They are VERY SIMILAR to the Hanky Panky’s that so many of us love, and they are a fraction of the price.  It’s basically 4 for 1!  I wore them for several days and think they are very comfortable.  Are they are great as the Hanky Panky’s?  That would be hard to say…but they are reallllllly good.  And they are definitely a great less expensive option for those who refuse to pay $22 for one pair of undies!

It’s hard for me to comment on the undies you see next, because I ordered a medium, and I DEFINITELY need a small. Still, several readers recommended them, so you might want to give them a shot.  They certainly are a great price.

MY COMFY FINDS

Y’all know I love a great pair of pajama/lounge pants, AND BOY HAVE I GOT A GREAT PAIR OF PAJAMA PANTS FOR YOU.  They come in 2 striped options (navy and grey) and 4 solid color options.  They all have the cute little tie, and I think the fit is so cute.  And they are of course soft and comfy. For size reference, I’m wearing a small in the pants, and I would suggest sizing down if between sizes.

The tee is one you’ve seen before.  It’s definitely cute enough to wear out and about, but it’s definitely comfy enough for lounge wear and even to sleep in if you wish.  For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

This next item is a find that I am crazy excited about!!!

This hoodie is AWESOME.  First of all, it’s flattering, which is always a very important criteria for me.  I WANT FLATTERING. ALWAYS.

There’s just something about the way it’s cut and the design and placement of the bottom band and the pockets that just make it a great little jacket for leggings. I mean, I think it would be great with jeans too, but it really is perfect with leggings.

I loved this vibrant blue, but there are 5 other available colors as well.  My other favorite color is the dark grey space dye.  AND LADIES.  IT’S ONLY $25 (or less depending on the color)!

And do we need to talk about the sneakers and the leggings again?  I’m going to sum up my recommendation for both in 2 words:  GET. THEM.

Seriously.  Get them both.  And go ahead and throw in the hoodie and the earrings.

This next hoodie has mixed reviews, but I happen to like it.  There are a couple of reviews stating the button was too small for the hole and had problems staying closed.  I didn’t experience this at all, so I think they must have fixed that issue.

It’s definitely more of a jacket than just a shirt, because the button on the top left is really the only thing holding it closed. You for sure need to wear something under it. It’s soft, it’s roomy, and I like that it’s different. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

Here are the leggings..and the sneakers…and the earrings…AGAIN.  These are definitely the basics that I now reach for all the time.  Constantly, really.

And now I’m wearing them with just a plain ol’ sweatshirt.  A plain ol’ sweatshirt that happens to be great.

You’ve seen a striped version of this sweatshirt before, but today I’m sharing the solid grey.  It’s soft, it’s oversized, and it’s great with leggings.

For size reference, I’m wearing a medium, but I would prefer the fit of the small.  I have this sweatshirt in a grey stripe also (see below), and I thought it was a medium, which is why I ordered the solid grey in a medium.  HOWEVER, I realized after ordering that I actually have the striped version in a small and prefer the fit of the small.

See?  The small is just a better fit.  The arms are less slouchy, and I like them better this way. (Let’s take a moment to talk about my poofy hair here, I’m not sure what was happening.  #itssotall)

This sweatshirt is straight up awesome.  It’s a super soft fleece and modal blend with ribbing at the hem and cuffs.  It’s sooooooooooooo soft and soooooooooooooo cozy.  And it’s completely leggings appropriate.  I’m wearing a small in both the sweatshirt and the leggings.  I highly recommend this sweatshirt.  Size down a 1/2 in the sneakers.

Now, let’s talk about these pave earrings again.

I mean, I’m not a diamond expert, but I think these babies look real.  AND THEY ARE JUST $14.95!  I wear these alllllllll the time.  I sleep in them, I talk on the phone with them, and I LOVE them.

And because this is a post on cute and comfy basics, I’m going to post an outfit that I first showed you in January’s Amazon haul.  I’ve received COUNTLESS messages from readers about all 3 items in this outfit, so I feel like it deserves another look.  Here’s just one message I received about each of the pieces:

  Hi, Sheaffer! I’m a jogger fanatic. (I’m laughing because I’m not a jogging fanatic, but I AM a jogger fanatic. I wanted to shoot you a quick e-mail because the mesh sneakers are everything you said they were and more!  I’m quite a bit older than you (closer to your mom’s age than yours), and I wore them all over Europe without any problems.  I love that they are so easy to slip on and off, and I think they’re cute too.  I’m going to get another pair, and my daughter and 17 year old granddaughter ended up getting them for themselves as well. This hoodie is my idea of a perfect basic.  The quality is amazing and I think it’s a total steal at $35.  You will reach for this over and over.  It’s soooooooooooooo soft on the inside because it’s lined with some super soft blush fleece. I love the stripes and it’s a great casual top to pair both with jeans and joggers.  It comes in 2 other stripe colorways and 6 solid colors too, and this is one of those tops that many of you will love so much that you will grab in at least 1 more color.

I’m wearing a small here and it’s fine, but if I order a 2nd color (thinking about the grey stripes), I’ll order a medium for a more relaxed fit.

And yes…these are the joggers that I’ve been screaming and shouting about for a couple of months now, and I can confidently say I love them even more now than when I first got them.  They wash beautifully and still look brand new.  THEY ARE FANTASTIC.  I really like the exaggerated height on the cuff at the ankle and think they are very flattering.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Some reviewers complained of a chemical smell, and lots of you have asked me about it, but mine don’t smell AT ALL. Other readers have chimed in and said the same thing.  They must have fixed the issue!

And although this next outfit doesn’t include leggings or joggers, the sweater is so dang comfy that I wanted to include it in this post!

It kind of looks like a sweatshirt here, but it’s a realllllllllllly soft sweater.  And it’s a relaxed fit without being boxy, which I love.  It’s definitely on the expensive side, but I like it enough that I’m keeping it. I will wear the heck out of this sweater, so I know it will be worth the money for me.  I think it will be cute with grey joggers too!
