HAPPY OCTOBER LADIES!
In honor of October,
you are going to start seeing some fall looks creeping onto the blog!
(In September I talked a lot about items that would work for fall, but you didn’t see many in most of the items, I was just linking to them)
Still, if you need ideas, click HERE for my super comprehensive September review!
Now that we are in October, you are going to actually start seeing the outfits!
I may or may not walk out of the house in them quite yet (because where I live it might be 98 degrees by the afternoon), but I want to get us started really thinking about fall.
PLUS, I realize that some of you live in parts of the country where you are actually already in full swing for dressing for fall.
Know this:
We envy you.
So, let’s get on with it!
This was my inspiration today.
Minus the glasses and hat.
Although I totally wish I had quirky glasses that made me look smart and sexy.
(sidenote: I was totally that kid in junior high that unfolded a paper clip and put it on my teeth so I could see what I would look like with a retainer. Fyi: it wasn’t a good look.
But I just know I would be cute in glasses.)
I saw this outfit and I thought it was a great formula for fall.
short sleeved and lightweight sweater + cuffed jeans + booties =
FALL
That’s my kind of math.
And the black and white stripes?
Swoon.

So, I popped into my closet and got the items I needed.
I like the inspiration sweater so much better, but I worked with what I had.
(I like how the sweater in the inspiration picture is
predominately white with black accents and piping…but mine will do in a
pinch!)
What do you think?
Do you like the outfit?
You’re about to see some more pictures, so now is as good a time as any to talk about my
new pink phone case.
I got the i phone 5 over the weekend. and so I had to get a new case.
I wanted a fun new color and settled on pink!
I didn’t really think about the fact that my phone shows in all of my pictures and black would have been a better choice. OOPS. We’ll see how long the pink phone lasts.
Anyway, here’s my new fall outfit…and my new pink phone.

p.s. LOFT is having a MYSTERY FLASH SALE until 10:00 EST this morning.
I got an e-mail where you had to click and find out what your deal was.
I thought that was just for show and that everybody got the same deal, but apparently not.
My deal was to use the code MYSTERY 75 for $75 off my full price purchase of $150 or more.
I assumed everybody probably got that deal too.
However, I put it on facebook last night and a reader said that her deal was only for $50 off.
(Sorry I didn’t get to you sooner Alison!) 🙁
So……….
I wanted to make sure all of you had the MYSTERY75 code!
Now, GO! SHOP!
But just don’t tell them you got the code from me! 😉
Lots and lots of stuff that I featured last week would apply.
So, click HERE if you want to see my LOFT-A-PALOOZA post again to see everything I tried on and loved!
(Remember, part of it looked like this!)

I love, love, love getting Pin-spire with you!! I almost didn't even see your recreations though because I was obsessed and distracted by the boots at the top! Oh my heavens! I must go back and shop now!
Katie Paladino says
Love your look! And what a snazzy new phone case! Don't you think Nordstrom should have just asked you to make a boot guide, I mean really who knows boots better than you?!
Natalia says
Another great outfit! As a side note, I think the girl in the photo is Sydney from thedaybookblog.com. She used to be blond and tends to pose looking down with her feet in that position. I want to say the outfit is from last year?
Katie says
Yeah that is Sydney from thedaybookblog.com…she does have some really cute outfit posts!
Alison @ Get Your Pretty On says
Cute, cute, cute! I'm kind of obsessed with stripes so this outfit is right up my alley. I agree, you should be creating Nordstrom's boot guide. Thanks for hosting the link up!
Meghan says
Great post! I love the taupe boots and am so close to pulling the trigger on the Toms ones. Heading to Loft today to find a few sweaters.
Tab & Erika says
LOVE the striped sweater and taupe booties!! It's perfect for fall!! Great job, Friend!!
Jen Pogue says
LOVE your outfit! I have that photo pinned too and can't wait to try it out myself! This is one of favorite outfits that you've recreated!
Samantha says
I love the stripes, cuffs and booties! I have a new pair of dressy booties and I'm having a hard time figuring out pants to go with them. I think dressy black booties mean I should be tucking my pants into my booties (as opposed to the cuff with the casual booties)… what do you think?!
Meagan @ The Clanahan Fam says
Ok, you'll be so proud of me – I finally bought booties! Whoo hoo! Anyway, the salesperson was soooo helpful because hi, I was clueless where to start. She passed on some sage advice: if you are petite or have narrow and/or small feet, stay away from the chunkier or higher set bootie. Go for the one that is more streamlined with a more narrow heel OR doesn't have a lot going on at the top. As much as I loved the ones with more decor and fabric, it just didn't work for my body. That being said, if you aren't petite (aka short) rock on with the buckle styles!
Nicki says
So I bought my FIRST pair of booties this weekend and am IN LOVE! I probably would not have gone out on this limb had it not been for you and Shay and your awesome styling of them on the blogs! 🙂
Julie Heath says
Your outfit is too cute!!! I have tried my booties with rolled jeans many times but haven't made it out of the house yet 🙁 I just can't seem to find a look that is cute enough yet…. I think I need to study your bootie post a little bit more… haha! Happy October 1st!!! AKA: FALL!!!
Rachel says
I love your striped sweater and jeans!! I am envious!
Also, looks like the Pinspiration is Sydney from the Daybook. the source is here http://www.thedaybookblog.com/2011/03/youre-gonna-like-this.html
