Let’s Hear It For The Boys: Father’s Day Gift Guide…and a couple of things for the ladies too :)

It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means!  It’s time to link up with Erika, Andrea, and Narci to let everybody know about some of my favorite things!

We had a pretty epic rainbow after some hard rain last Sunday night.  It was a double rainbow when we first saw it, but by the time we grabbed the camera (and Carter got some pants on), the other one had disappeared in the haze. It was beautiful, and definitely a favorite moment from the week.

So this is Carter with one of his besties, Benton.  Carter and Benton are an unlikely pair as far as height goes ;), but they certainly have developed a sweet little friendship over the last couple of years.  In addition to going to school together, they’ve been on several teams together, so we’ve become family friends as well.  Benton’s family is moving to Aledo at the end of this month, and although we are so happy for them (dad is significantly reducing his commute!), we sure are going to miss having them as a part of our lives here in McKinney.  They are definitely favorites of ours.  We Love You Byrd family!

For the past couple of years I’ve teamed up with Nordstrom to bring you ladies some great ideas for the guys in your life for Father’s Day, and I’m doing it this year as well!  I have some tried and true gifts we’ll talk about in a minute (gifts you’ve seen on here several times before if you’re long time readers), but I’ve also got some new ideas for y’all today.  Father’s Day is in 10 days…so it’s time to get those gifts ordered!

Let’s start with the NEW IDEAS! They are all from Nordstrom, which makes it a one stop shop for all the guys in your life!  And they have great gifts at every price point.  You can click HERE to see some items that Nordstrom pulled together as great gifts, and they are sorted from low to high.

I wanted to be sure I featured items from all price points as well.  Here are some items that I grabbed for my hubby ranging in price from $15 to $269.  The Bose speaker below was actually his one and only Christmas gift this past year, and it was a definite splurge.  He’s had the smaller version (and less expensive version) for several years (as you’ll see in a second), and it’s definitely his favorite gift he has EVER received.  So, if you are planning on splurging this year, I highly recommend a Bose speaker.   Another great splurge gift is an awesome watch, but it’s not quite as WOW worthy.  Plus, don’t tell your guy this, but a Bose speaker is pretty much a gift for the entire family!  I promise that you will enjoy it too! 🙂

As far as the other gifts go….I feel like Chris could always use a couple of new pairs of boxers, and I replaced his Reef flip flops this year since his old ones were finally starting to look worn (because he’s worn them into the ground).  Y’all.  THE FLIP FLOPS HAVE A BOTTLE OPENER ON THE BOTTOM!  I’m all about good lookin’ and functional.  🙂

I’m also excited to give him this monogrammed cooler (they come in both 6 bottle and 12 bottle sizes).  Chris has large coolers for tailgates and ranch trips, but I thought this small cooler would be perfect for when we are just heading to a neighbor’s house when it’s BYOB!  😉

I also love the look (and the price point) of this Fossil bifold wallet.  It arrived after the above items, or it would have definitely made it to the collage.  I’ll do an instatory sometime today on what it looks like on the inside so you can see the full functionality (check instatories after 8:00 a.m. or so)!

It has space for a picture id that is easily accessible, space for 8 credit cards, and a place for bills.  Also, it arrives in this tin, which is great for gift giving!  I think it looks like it’s much nicer than just a $45 gift.

If you’ve been reading the blog for awhile, you can skip over this next little section.  However, I know I have lots of new readers since last Father’s Day, so I thought it would be a good idea to review some of my previous Father’s Day gift giving recommendations.  These are items that are tried and true.  They are all items that Chris has and believes in.

A couple of years ago I grabbed this pic of my two boys on a ranch trip, and I realized it had so many things that Chris loved.  Things that would make great Father’s Day gifts!

Pretty much every single thing in the picture is something I would recommend as a gift to give to a man in your life.

THIS Bose speaker is his absolute favorite of the items above.  And I know I talk about it every single time I do a gift guide for men…but I’m telling you….It’s THE PERFECT gift for so many guys!  (UPDATE:  Obviously, it was good enough that I went ahead and upgraded to the bigger model for Christmas.)

Talk about WOW FACTOR when your guy opens it up!!!  He will take it everywhere and can play the music off of his phone anywhere!  We use it on the porch at the ranch house, we take it to the neighbor’s when we get in their pool, and it’s great for when you’re grilling out or tailgating.  It makes an awesome gift that so many guys would THRILLED to get! Chris likes his new one because he says it’s even better sound quality and the sound is louder.  But the small one is more portable, so keep that in mind if you’ll be taking it lots of places (besides just your backyard).

Last thing for today!  My sister’s birthday was a couple of weeks ago, and I ordered her some of her make-up!  She asked for her cake eyeliner from Laura Mercier (that she applies with a brush) that she’s used and loved for years, but it was on backorder, so I sent her my favorite eyeliner instead (in “alloy”, it looks like a soft black on- the actual black is too black and way too stark).  I got this text from her a couple of days later…

As I was getting ready yesterday (and I knew I was going to be showing y’all Conner’s text today), I decided to record some instatories when I was finishing up my make-up because I wanted you all to see how it really is incredibly easy to apply the eyeliner.
