Okay, so I was planning on my Bachelorette post going live this morning.
But that didn’t happen.
Oops.
Check back tomorrow for the recap.

So, what’s the post about today?
Hi Sheaffer!
You know what would be a fun and super helpful quick post
this week? Ideas for the 4th of July….cute red/white/blue combos that
are in the spirit of the holiday without looking like you might also be
a person who wears Christmas sweaters in December.
Thanks!
Heather McCornack
Manhattan, KS
Thanks for the post idea Heather !
I know I responded to you at first saying that I didn’t have extra time this week to throw this together, but when I started looking back at some of my old posts, I realized that there were several things that I’ve highlighted in the last several weeks would be perfect for the 4th!
GOAL for the 4th:
Look Festive, But Not All Yankee Doodle Dandy
😉
So, here’s a collage of 4 things that immediately popped into mind, all things that I’ve featured before. If accessorized appropriately, these would be perfect for looking festive, but not like a firework.
🙂
Plus, I figured lots of you might already have one of these items in your closet and hadn’t yet thought about the fact that it could be worn on the the 4th!
And the good thing about everything I’m featuring today is that none of it screams 4th of July.
So, you can still wear it on July 23rd…Or August 16th….Or September 2nd.
And if you order today, you should get it in plenty of time.
Here are some festive options:
a) crocheted lucky dress HERE / b) lace anthro shirt HERE
c) batik floral shirt HERE / d) 3/4 sleeve stripes and lace shirt HERE
Pair any of the above items with a red lip, a red bag, red shoes, or red accessories and you’re festive without being crazy! And who doesn’t want to be festive?!?
b)
I feel like everybody needs to know about this next shirt.
I wore it for the 3rd time last night, and I’ve only had it a little over a week.
And
if my crazy eyes in the picture below measure my level of excitement,
well then I guess I’m pretty dang excited about the shirt. 😉
Click HERE for a shirt that will make you go cross-eyed with excitement. Allegedly.
It’s $68, so I know it’s kind of expensive for a shirt, but HELLO it’s worth it.
I
am obviously wearing the heck out of it everywhere around town, but I
totally see it being thrown in a bag for a beach vacation! If you’re
going to the beach, you need this easy shirt!
Style it with khaki shorts, jean shorts, or jeans and some red earrings, AND HAPPY 4th!!!!
Here is is again the first time I posted it.
Worth. Every. Single. Penny.
c)
THIS top is greatness!
And let’s be honest, the shorts would be perfect for every single day this summer.
They are drawstring.
So. Dang. Comfy.
Did I mention they are drawstring? Oh, I did? Good. Cause that’s important.
They are stupid comfortable, and they are a great length.
I love them.
Because they’re drawstring. 😉
For size reference, I was wearing a small in the shirt and an x-small shorts.
I have small hips and thighs, so keep that in mind when deciding if you want to size down.
(Don’t go getting jealous over my legs…my tummy makes up for it, don’t worry.)
MUST HAVE SKINNY JEANS / MICHAEL KORS MOCCASINS.
I don’t like the Nordstrom version quite as much as I do my Stella
version, but it’s a pretty good alternative, and it’s about 1/2 the
price.
Ooh!
And there’s THIS too. I’ve featured this button up before, but now it’s 40% off!
It would be so cute with a 1/2 tuck in a pair of rolled denim shorts!
*************************
Now…I know most of what I featured above was all blue and white with very little red.
So, I have some red things for you that you could pair with all of the outfits above!
*
Carmel from Our Fifth House blogged about this lipstick sometime last year, and when writing this post I totally remembered how gorgeous it was. I searched her blog, and I found it!
Maybe you need some red earrings?
a) bp sandal HERE / b) brass leaf HERE/ c) tory burch sandal HERE
I am so glad I found this sleeveless top! It’s ONLY $34, and the cut is so pretty!
And the white jeans are ONLY $54!!!
GREAT SUMMER STAPLES!
Don’t you just love this whole look?
If I had to pick a favorite item,
it would definitely be the tote bag!
And good news for you, if you love the bag, you have a chance to win it right now!
And really? Who in the world wouldn’t love this bag? Nobody. That’s who.
(You can choose the grey and white stripes, or you can design your own and choose a different color combo and pattern. Go HERE to see all of your choices in the St. Anne.
And as you can see, they will also personalize it for you!
It’s possible that I’m slightly obsessed with my Barrington tote c/o Barrington (I have the Nantucket in grey chevron). Look! It looks good with everything!
And it holds A TON! I often times just
carry it as my daily bag, but I also took it to a conference and packed
it up! It held my wallet, my make-up bag, my calendar, my water bottle,
and my laptop. Oh, and my denim jacket!
THESE bags would make great carry-ons!
AND GUESS WHAT?!?
If you want one for yourself, NOW is the time!
There is a 24 hour code for FREE SHIPPING! Just enter the code BLOGON at checkout!
And for the blog comment entry points (for 5 entries!), click HERE to decide which one you would want!
Come back tomorrow!
I think I’m going to hook up with a fun Friday link-up that I’ve never done before, so stay tuned!
xoxo,
Sheaffer 🙂

These outfits are totally festive but not obnoxious at all! Like, I could wear any of these outfits on any other day of the year and not look like Independence Day threw up on me. Well done friend :).

What ever happened with the big group giveaway with the beach bags and the $500 and all the other goodies? I feel like it's been so long that it would be over by now, but I haven't seen you post winners!
Sheaffer says
Hi Mattie! Erin from Blue Eyed Bride was managing the rafflecopter, and by the time I asked her about when she was going to draw a winner, she had already drawn the winner and the winner had already contacted her. So, I never posted the winner because I knew she had already responded to Erin!
