So, I’m the Self-Proclaimed Cover-Up Queen.
But it goes a little further than that, because all of my friends agree with my self-imposed title.
I just have a knack for finding really cute cover-ups.

Three years ago I found a little black romper with embroidered flowers THAT I ADORED and a black dress that looked like a short little Mexican dress (children of the 80s, do you remember those that we all had and wore with jellies)?  Well, both were dang cute.
And then 2 years ago I found this little beauty. Also from Target.
And it is DIVINE.  But it hasn’t been available for over 2 years. Sorry.  🙁



But last year I didn’t find any new ones that I loved.  
Actually, the past 2 years I’ve come up short.
And my title was in question.
In the interest of full disclosure, I do feel the need to state that my cover-up standards are HIGH.
I don’t want just any ol’ thing to throw on over my swimsuit.
I want DARLING.


Anyway, I started to question myself.  WHERE IN THE WORLD had my cover-up game gone?
I was hopeful this year, but I still wasn’t finding anything I liked.  I searched high and low at Target (both in store an online), but nothing caught my interest. 
 Old Navy – nothing.  Macy’s – nothing.  Loft – nothing.  
(I did find a striped romper that I loved at LOFT…but I couldn’t find my size anywhere.)
I tried on a couple from Nordstrom that I loved online, but they were just “eh” when I actually tried them on.  (I do have this one ordered from Nordstrom….it was on back-order when I found it, but I’m supposed to get it next week so I might like that one.)


But even if I don’t end up liking it, it doesn’t matter….because I ordered 3 the other day…
and I ended up liking ALL 3!
HURRY!  GIVE ME BACK MY COVER-UP CROWN!

And here’s the kicker, I ordered all 3 online from a place I’d never ordered from before.

EARRINGS

And I know I told you about this last week, but my favorite $8 earrings now come in a light pink and a cobalt blue.
And they are PERFECT for the pool.
I now have all colors but the ivory.  (I ordered the ivory, but they came to me with a flaw, and I just never ordered them again.)
I keep them all in this cute little bowl in my bathroom (can’t remember if I got it from Anthro or Target), and it just makes me happy to look at them!

 That little bowl of goodness will pretty much will cover my earring needs all summer long.
For a stud they pack quite a punch, and the color options are sooo pretty!
I wanted to hold them all up for you to see, because I think the colors are a little deceiving online.

So I’ve been going on and on about THESE for a couple of weeks.  
And great news!  All sizes are now re-stocked!

I purchased these based on a bloggers recommendation and I am so glad I listened to her! These flip flops are very comfortable and provide good arch support. The multi colored straps will match everything in your closet and they are lined underneath with leather so they do not irritate your skin at all. I wore these for an entire day after receiving them and they did not rub or irritate my feet or toes. I feel that these run a tad small, so you may want to order a half size up. I ordered my regular size and the length was perfectly fine, my heel is just a little closer to the back edge than I am used to. I highly recommend these!

SUNGLASSES
I don’t own any expensive sunglasses.  First off, sunglasses just aren’t that important to me.  Secondly, I lose sunglasses like it’s my job.

I’ve received lots of feedback about THESE since last week.

I went to Nordstrom last week on my lunch break (lucky me, Nordstrom is only about 10 minutes away from my office!) after seeing you highlight the BP “Summers” wedges.  You said they were kind of like the MUST HAVE wedges from a couple of years ago, so I knew I had to try them.     I'm dying over the coverups! We do the pool when we're home and have a beach house. I have a 3 and a 4 year old. To say I live in a bikini from May-September is totally accurate. I did get the chiffon Kaftan one from Old Navy (in January) and so far am loving it. Thanks for the tips!

    You may not be a Walmart kinda girl, but Walmart has almost the identical same eyelet cover up for about $15. I was shocked at how cute their beach section is this season. And they used to sell Joe Fresh clothes for kids at JCPenney. My friend and I were just talking about how much we miss it. Everything they offered was super cute!

    Just FYI, Joe Fresh is carried at
    JCPenney. I'm not sure if they carry the same items, but they have cute jeans for super affordable prices. It's really the only reason I ever head in there. I got three cute gingham button ups on fall clearance for around $4 a piece. Now that's a deal. One of them is a great lavender color and will work great through the Spring.

    Great coverups! I also love the cute little bowl for your studs. Just a little word of warning….make sure you double-check your earrings before you leave the house. I have all of my earrings mixed up like that and I was in a hurry the other day and almost walked out with two different earrings on! Lol!

    When I saw the pics of the sisters, I knew I had to comment. I don't know if you remember or not, but my best friend, Kim, emailed you after Christmas with a picture of our gifts for each other. We had gotten each other a pair of Kendra Scott earrings and the lip scrub from Nordstrom. We were meeting for lunch at Harvest in McKinney last Friday. I wore the camo pants, a gray tshirt, the must have denim jacket, the Reef flip flops, and the BP blingy hoop earrings. I had to call her first to make sure we didn't show up dressed as twins!! 😉

I went to my local Target late morning, and there were only a couple of girl's dresses and a couple of items in xl left. So I got nothin'! To tell you the truth, I didn't even know about it till I saw some other bloggers post about it on ig on Sunday morning. I don't own any Lilly pieces, so I'm not a hardcore fan, but I would have loved to have been able to pick something up! I need to be faster! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

You just keep checking and see if something gets put on sale (you can do this by adding it to your "wish list").     So for those of us that are teachers and suffer the only closed toe shoes requirement, can you help??? I am a preschool special ed teacher and so I do work in the summer too. If I know I am not going to my main office, I just wear my open toed favorites. But I need to go to the office quite a bit so some fun summer closed toe shoe suggestions would be great! Keep in mind too that I am a part time teacher and thus the budget is narrow. Ok I am just plain cheap. I do only work 5 weeks in the summer and will be investigating those cover ups for my weeks off!!!

    Wondering if you've seen the ivory studs next to the light pink ones? They look so similar online… I have the ivory, and even though they're only $8, wondering if it would be like having two of the same thing. Wish they would introduce a bright pink and a Kelly green!

      Hi Melissa! I have seen them next to each other. They are different…but they aren't super different. I can see that there might be sometimes when the light pink wouldn't work and you might prefer the white? But, like I said, they're not very different. Bright pink and kelly green would be AMAZING!

Here's something funny (and sadly true)…one day I really needed to run into nordstrom at stonebriar to return something but I wasn't looking too great.
