Hey, Everybody! Well, here we are, IT’S SUMMER TIME! This past weekend was supposed to be full of baseball tournament games and different sports practices for us, but almost all of them got rained out. Boo! It was just as well though, because we spent a ton of time at home all cozy in pjs just hanging out together on Friday and Saturday. It was pretty much perfect. Sunday we headed to church and then lunch, I attended a baby shower for a friend, and then we had our first indoor soccer game of the summer (and Carter had his best game yet!!!!). This week is full of birthday parties and pool dates, so we are ready to kick summer off with a bang!
Today I’m going to show you a ton of looks with my handkerchief hem top. You’ve already seen it several times on the blog, but I’ve got a couple of new outfits for you today. I know a ton of you already have this top (some of you in multiple colors), so today should give you some more outfit ideas!
I have it in 2 colors: orange (they call it “red saucy” – but I think it’s more orange than red) and black.
Look at it here with my $39 shorts and my new $35 tassel trim tote. I showed y’all this tote on Friday and told you I had ordered it. I received it late Friday afternoon, and by Saturday afternoon I was putting it in flat lays. Because it’s that good. You could use it as an everyday bag or a pool bag, and I love it because it truly looks like something you could have picked up at a Mexican market on vacation! (UPDATE: It looks like the tote has already sold out for now. Click HERE for another tote option and 2 clutch options from the same maker.)
And just fyi, I’ve officially declared these babies my official earrings of summer. (FYI, my other favorite earrings were restocked yesterday: the mosaic tile earrings with pink tassels.) It’s seems I’m all about statement earrings this summer.

ANOTHER UPDATE: I did some searching and found some more tote options. I also found the above tote in stock at JC Penny’s!!! Click on what you are interested in!
The orange is so vibrant, but I love the basic black too. And it looks great with cut-offs and the rainbow tote as well!
And now for a parade of outfits 😉 ….
Awhile ago I showed y’all this flat lay…
And I finally got around to actually wearing it!
For size reference, several reviewers have reported that it runs large, but I didn’t find that to be the case. I’m wearing my normal size small, and I definitely could not have sized down or it would have been too tight across the chest for me. If you have a smaller chest, I do think you could size down, because it’s definitely roomy and flowy.
Both the bell sleeves and the peplum hem have tiny little soft pleats that make everything lay really nicely. And it’s got really great movement! It’s longer on the sides than it is in the front and back, which makes for an unexpected and very pretty shape.
I’ve received a lot of questions about if the top is sheer or not. You would have to wear a cami with the blush (I tried it on and it was pretty sheer), but none of the other colors require a cami.

Here’s a close up of the jewelry….
And here’s a close up of the sandals. They look great with ankle jeans, shorts, and sundresses. And they are ON SALE!
Another slight variation below…I kept on the blouse and the white jeans, I just switched the leopard clutch to a pom pom clutch and changed the fringe sandals to some cognac wedges.
I’ve heard from many of you that you wear this top to the office as well. If you want to wear yours to the office, imagine the top and necklace with THESE pants and THESE block heels (like my sister has)!
Sadly, the above clutch is sold out, but I found THIS one that is very similar!
And here’s the black top with white jeans. I have flat sandals on here for a casual look, but you could of course wear wedges or even heels for a date night!
handkerchief hem top / necklace (type is “Setta”) / earrings / white jeans / less expensive white jean options / similar sandals from same maker with ankle strap / another sandal option similar without ankle strap
And now for a walk down memory lane with a couple more outfits you’ve already seen with the top.
The first time you saw it…
And worn casually with denim shorts…
I hope I’ve made a case for this top, because I think it’s got a place in a lot of closets. 🙂 It also comes in a new GORGEOUS hot pink color that is sadly sold out right now, but I have my fingers crossed for a restock (and I’ll be sure to let you know if I see one). I also love the kelly green and the royal blue. Remember, the blush is sheer and would require a cami.
Before you go, I know lots of you have fallen in love with the A.O.S. Carly jeans, just like I have. I have a pair of medium washed frayed hem jeans, blush ankle jeans, and white jeans (all under $65). All Carly jeans, and all stretchy and comfy enough to earn the title of “pajama jeans”. But look at these Carly jeans that are currently available at Nordstrom Rack. They are all UNDER $40, and some are UNDER $35! WHAT A DEAL!
See y’all back here on Wednesday for the Bachelor recap!
