It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means! It’s time to link up with Erika, Andrea, and Narci to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now!
*********************************
Do y’all remember last week when I planned 4 outfits with my leopard flats? Well, today I’m going to recreate one of those outfits.
If you haven’t already bought them, you really need to trust me on this. YOU NEED THE FLATS. You just do. Leopard flats make just about every outfit cuter. I still have (and still love) my Sam Edelman leopard Felicia flats, but I’ve been wearing them for 4-5 years, and I needed a change. The pointy toe on these changes up the look, and I love them!
When I showed this cardi in the flat lay last week, I mentioned that I was planning on wearing it closed like this (without a tee under it). Several of you were quite concerned that the buttons would pop open/pull and it wouldn’t look right. Well, I sized up to a medium, and you can see that’s not a problem at all! I think it’s a new fun way to wear a cardi! Now, it won’t work with all cardigans, but it does with this one! Also, although I did size up to a medium to accommodate wearing it closed, I actually think many of you will be able to stick with your regular size. It’s definitely a relaxed fit.
AND THE CARDI IS 40% OFF this weekend!!!
striped cardi / resin hoop earrings (red floral) /initial necklace / boyfriend jeans (plus size boyfriend jeans) / leopard flats
Let’s talk about the jeans (also available in plus size HERE). I announced a couple of weeks ago that I am now a brand ambassador for KUT from the Kloth! #bestillmydenimlovingheart Y’all know I love the brand (I’ve worn one of their denim jackets at least 2 times a week for about 5 years now! seriously!), so I’m thrilled to be partnering up with them for the next several months.
Here’s how it’s going to work: Each week I’m going to be featuring a new KUT piece to really get you acquainted with the brand. This week I’m featuring these slim cut boyfriend jeans! They have the relaxed fit of a boyfriend jean, but they are “slim cut”, so they aren’t baggy or sloppy looking. The cuffed hem makes them perfect for transitional weather because they look great with flats, sandals, wedges and sneakers.
Sizing tip: I’m wearing my regular 4s here, but I have decided that I need to size down. I believe that everybody will need to size down.
UPDATE: It seems that they are having stock issues with this exact pair of jeans. HOWEVER, there are several different versions of the Catherine jean with different washes and different levels of distressing found.

I have to be honest, I felt pretty cute running around town in this combo. And notice my little blingy initial necklace. The “c” is for Chris and Carter, and it’s perfect for a v neck neckline. It comes in gold, rose gold, and silver!

Here’s a close up of my bracelets. Aren’t they gorgeous? Did you see my post on Monday? I shared my love for the brand and the bracelets. Click HERE if you want to see some of my other favorites, and if you want to read about all the reasons I’m a fan.
AND GREAT NEWS! There is now a 40% OFF code! Use the code CELEBRATE for 40% OFF! (FYI: A reader told me about the code this morning.)

On my bracelet post on Monday, I didn’t link the clothes. I linked them on social media, but I wanted to make sure blog readers got the info too!
If you want to see a full review on these boot cut jeans (I call them gateway jeans because you’ll get hooked on the brand in general), click HERE. I promise they make you look taller and skinnier (than you already are). And this cardi? Softer than you can believe and it comes in 8 colors. I ordered the blush too, and I’ll be showing it on Monday.
For size reference, I’m wearing a 4R in the jeans (I’m almost 5’4″ and wear 2 and 3 inch heeled booties with them), a medium in the tee, and a small in the cardi.

For this outfit, I paired a new floral tee (with a vintage look) with one of my very favorite military jackets from several years ago. I still reach for it all the time, and it’s back again this year! I sized up to a medium in the tee, and I’m wearing a small in the jacket.

A couple of week’s ago I mentioned the Red Dress Boutique since Hannah G from the Bachelor is one of their models! (Click HERE to see Hannah in a darling striped cover up with pom poms!) Since then, I’ve received countless messages about how so many of you have shopped there for years and are obsessed. Well, I can see why! THEIR STUFF IS CRAZY CUTE! I suggest just clicking HERE and taking a quick look around.
Last week I shared a screen shot of an embroidered top that sold out before I could get it. Totally my fault. I should not share things until I’ve already purchased them myself. I mean, I know y’alls power!
I now find myself popping on their site every several days to see if they’ve got anything new!
I want this embroidered dress so badly. I don’t think it will work for my boobs, but I want all of y’all with smaller boobs to grab it. IT’S SO DANG CUTE! (Be warned, it seems that they don’t stock things very deep, so super popular items sell out pretty quickly.)

Last Friday Chris was out of town and Carter was at a friend’s house. At 8:00, I found myself in my favorite pajamas (YES, AGAIN.), applying my favorite mask, and watching Grey’s Anatomy from the night before. Wine was also involved. It was GLORIOUS.
I typically keep the Dual Enzyme Polish on my face for about 10-15 minutes (love the light citrus scent!), and then I scrub my face with my fingertips in circular motions. The advanced microspheres (you can see the gritty texture in the picture below) deeply exfoliate the skin, without being too harsh. This mask leaves my skin SO SOFT and SO BRIGHT! I’ve learned that exfoliation is such an important step in your skincare routine by helping your face get ready to absorb all of the other products you are using (and paying for)! And bonus: your skin will feel baby soft after using the polish.
Remember, you can ALWAYS use the code stmt20 for 20% off your Colleen Rothschild purchase! They also have a code right now for $50 OFF your $150 purchase if that’s a better deal based upon what you are ordering! Use the code CAS50.
my favorite pajamas (I always size up to a medium in pajamas.)/ my favorite mask
I also wanted to let you know the CR cleansing balm that so many of you know and love now comes in a jumbo tub! If you haven’t tried anything yet from CR, start with the balm. It’s a game changer and you will actually look forward to washing your face.
Click HERE if you are new around here and want to know more about this skin care line in general. I did a Colleen Rothschild Told Me To post where I shared Colleen’s personal recommendations for my a.m. and p.m. routines! Don’t forget the stmt20 code!
The Discovery Kit is a great way to try several products at once.

With the natural deodorant craze that’s happening right now, I’ve had a lot of questions recently about what I use. I always point people towards this post because it’s dedicated to my thoughts on the Kopari coconut deodorant! I use it and LOVE it. I’ve also had a lot of questions on how long my detox period was, but I didn’t have one! In fact, I think the first day I used it, it worked better for me than my regular deodorant. Personally, I love the light coconut scent, but it also comes in a fragrance free option now as well.
I did a whole post on it HERE if you want to read alllllll my thoughts. And in addition to shopping directly on the Kopari site, you can also get Kopari products at Nordstrom! Not only do I use the deodorant daily, but I also use the body glow, the coconut milk lotion, the coconut scrub, and the coconut melt.
You can click HERE to see the initial post where I talk about the other Kopari products I use and love. Click HERE to browse all things Kopari at Nordstrom. Click HERE for my pajamas, now in a pretty light pink!

We have had some serious cold snaps in my neck of the woods lately. I mean, it’s no polar vortex, but I have had to wear a coat. And truth be told, I don’t really enjoy wearing coats. I reached for one of my favorites, and it’s ON SALE for ONLY $37.90! Look at the collar, the buttons, and the band around the cuff! DARLING!
The site says it runs large and to size down, but I found the opposite to be true. I’m wearing a large here in the coat, a small in the fleece top, and a 4R in the jeans (but I wish I had the petite in the jeans). The coat also comes in black, pink, and navy.
pea coat / black twist front fleece top / my favorite black jeans / OTK boots no longer available
So last week it was a high of 78 one day and a high of 42 the next. On the warm day, this was the perfect outfit for running around town. These split hem ankle jeans are some of my favorites from the fall, and they are now back in stock! A buttery soft tee (I’m wearing a small), some stretchy ankle length jeans (I’m wearing a 4), and UGG loafers had me comfy all day long!

I have some new Trader Joe’s favorites! I’ll probably work on putting a big post together soon, but today I thought I would just share a handful of favorites. This pan contains 3 items from Trader Joe’s, and I combined them all together for this awesome stir fry. The cauliflower rice and the shrimp are both found in the freezer section, and the Asian Stir Fry mix is found in a bowl in the refrigerated section (near the bagged salads). I mix it all together, and then I put some Brandless Sesame Ginger Dressing on it, and I top it with a fried egg. My people don’t eat this with me, so I’m able to get 3 meals out of it for myself!
It’s delicious and SO HEALTHY.
Counter clockwise from top left:
*The Shrimp Stir Fry (talked about above).
*You know how Trader Joe’s always has a sample station set up? Well, when I went in several weeks ago, they were serving this Creamy Corn and Roasted Pepper soup very simply seasoned with just some of their taco seasoning. This soup tastes like a cream soup, but it isn’t! The taco seasoning is spicy, so a little goes a long way. This makes a warm and satisfying lunch on a cold day!
Nutrition Facts of soup: 1 cup = 110 calories, 2 g fat, 23g carbs. T
The box contains 4 cups, and I’m able to get about 3 bowls out of it when I also eat it with a small salad.
*Chicken Chow Mein: I don’t do anything to doctor this up. It’s delish as is.
*I always buy this 4 pack of avocados. They are a great price, and they are a great size (not too big, not too small).

This guy is a favorite 24/7. And I love it when he’s in his element at the family ranch. (If you missed my post on the family ranch house and are curious, click HERE to learn everything you need to know!)

This picture from Friday post had a lot of people asking me what color my nail polish was. It’s a new favorite for sure!
It’s OPI and is called REFLECTION (from their Designer Series).

If you’ve followed along with me for awhile, you know that I don’t have any TB Miller sandals. I absolutely LOVE them on others, but I just don’t like them on me. I don’t like wearing the thong style and prefer a sandal that covers my toes. Tory came out with this new pair of slides this year that I thought I was going to fall in love with (I saw them when coming down the elevator at Norstrom), but I didn’t love the way they fit.
But even though I don’t love the TB Miller style, I’ve always been obsessed with the patent nude choice in the TB sandals. When my favorite Sam Edelman sandals recently came out in this nude patent, I grabbed them immediately!
Click HERE for my new nude patent sandals! They come in other colors too and have fantastic reviews.
And great news, while the TB Millers are $198-$228 (although I know for people that love them they are worth every penny!)…my nude patent sandals are $89.95. Still expensive, but it’s quite the savings!

I meant to do a flat lay of my two favorite new beauty products, but time got away from me. I’ll show them on instastories over the weekend, and link them here today. I’ve FINALLY found a mascara that I absolutely love! I must have seen another blogger talk about, because I’ve never ordered this brand before, but THIS MASCARA is amazing. It separates all my lashes, and definitely makes them appear both thicker and longer. Last week when I got a mani, the nail lady was staring at my lashes and asked me what kind of mascara I used! YES! And my sister introduced me to this gloss last time I was with her. It goes on so silky soft and smooth, and just feels luxurious! I use “Honey Glam”, and it just brightens up your lips and makes them feel awesome! I love a shiny lip.
That’s it for today, y’all! Have a wonderful weekend with your people!
Narci says
Those nude patent slides are adorable! How cute! Happy Friday, friend. 🙂
Sarah M. says
You’re so cute, “I don’t like wearing a coat”. Sending this from Canada! I could not handle your heat though!! So we are even. Need those Pjs!
Erika Slaughter says
Happy Friday!!! Your camel coat paired with the black looks so chic! Love that!
Christina says
So many cute things!! I love the cardigan worn as a sweater! I’m probably one of the few also who don’t like the TB sandals. I actually got a pair as a gift last summer and the leather was falling apart in 6 weeks. Thank goodness for Nordstrom’s great return policy. They are so cute otherwise though! Happy weekend!
Sheaffer says
Hey, Christina! I bet you just got a bad pair. I have so many friends that have more than 1 pair, and they say the quality is excellent! Happy Friday! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Christina says
Good to know! Thanks! They were adorable while I had them.
Shay Shull says
I bought the shrimp thanks to YOU!!!! Whoop! Whoop!! Fantastic!
Addison says
So many fun and cute Friday favorites this week! I’m laughing because you said you don’t liking wearing coats – I live in Maine so I wear a coat for 6+ months of the year! Loving all those Trader Joe’s finds too. Enjoy your weekend!
Jennifer says
This is a silly question….which Louis bag do you carry? I love that you added the strap to make it a cross body.
Sheaffer says
Hi, Jennifer! It’s called The Sully! And I’m working on something with one of my favorite retailers right now….and we are hopefully going to be able to bring you some strap options! Stay tuned!!! 🙂 xoxo
Jennifer says
Now that is exciting! I will keep my eyes peeled. It looks like the perfect travel bag.
Lakenia says
So many great finds and I love the polish! Where can I find the strap on your LV purse. I searched the blog because I know you posted a link before but cannot find it. Thanks!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Lakenia! It’s Chelsea28 from Nordstrom, but it sold out almost 2 years ago and never restocked. I’ve searched for similar ones, and I’ve never had any real luck. HOWEVER, I’m working with one of my favorite retailers right now, and we are hopefully going to have some options for you soon!!! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Kathy says
Is there a promo code for the bracelets or did the sale end?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Kathy! So it looks like they’ve changed the promotion, so I updated my post! Now, instead of a select number of bracelets being discounted, you can use the code CELEBRATE for 40% OFF your order of your choice of bracelets! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Julie Jones says
Born in TX, lived in NY for 9 years and couldn’t agree more on the bother of wearing a coat! ? Thank you for all your research and tips for us! I ordered the CR cocoa bean cleansing balm, which I assume is new since it only has one review. It also comes with an oil sample. Chocolate will definitely make look forward to washing my face at night!
Sheaffer says
Julie, I have it and LOVE it!!!!!!! It smells DIVINE. It leaves the sink a bit messy, but my face feels wonderful after using it!!!!
Kassy says
I ordered the Loft striped cardigan and sadly returned it to the store this morning. I’m 5’6” and it was so boxy on me. Looked nothing like the way it looks on you. I was so disappointed. I really like that pea coat too but probably won’t work for me. How tall are you?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Kassy! I’m only 5’4″. Sorry you didn’t like the cardi! xoxo
Kim S says
Re: dress “I don’t think it will work for my boobs”…LOL! Same problem. I guess it’ll save me some money☺️
Melodee D. says
I love the Steve Madden flats! I tried them on, but the pointy toe wasn’t comfortable at all. My toes felt so smoothed! Do they fit better or stretch some in the toe area after wearing a while? Because I really want to buy them!! ☺️
Sheaffer says
Hi, Melodee! Hmmmmm….I didn’t have this issue. Should you try a 1/2 size up and wear them in your house for a bit?
