Friday Favorites

It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means!  It’s time to link up with Erika, Andrea, and Narci to let everybody know about some of my favorite things!

Let’s start out with some pictures of the pups.  Because these two are definite favorites. These furry little fellas are so loved, and we are so happy we made the decision to get two of them.  They do EVERYTHING together.  Eat, sleep, poop, pee, play, etc….

Everybody asks us how we tell them apart.  It’s easy for us!  They both weigh 22.8 pounds (they’ve doubled their weight in a month!)…..but Buddy is chunkier and Charlie is taller.  Also, Charlie is quite a bit darker than Buddy.  They are definitely developing their own little personalities, and they make each day so much fun!

They are doing GREAT.  During the day they are little angels.  The only “issue” we continue to have is that they wake up between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m. in the mornings, and they are ready to go for the day.  A week ago, I would have said they were maniacs the first two hours that they woke up after a “full night’s sleep”.  But I’m happy to say that we are now starting to get a handle on this.  Even though they are still waking up early, they are much more content to chill for those first two hours instead of run around like wild animals….which we appreciate VERY much.  And just like babies, they still nap several times a day.  They are up for 2 -2 1/2 hour spurts of time…and then they sleep for 2-3 hours.

Chris and I are taking turns with them at night as if they were newborns. Ha!  On the night it’s not our night, we sleep upstairs so we can get a full night’s sleep.  It’s working out pretty well for us….wayyyyyy better than when we were both waking up with them each night.

Awhile ago I had a reader ask me for a recommendation for a slip.  Because sometimes you just need a slip.  Am I right, ladies? Well, sadly I didn’t have a recommendation for her because my slip was old.  Like about 8 years old.  And it didn’t even have a tag on it, so I had no idea the brand.

This blouse popped up on my facebook feed from Anthro, and I think I’m in love.  Now, the problem is that shirts like this don’t always fit me right, but I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to try it.  I think it would look great with white jeans, it obviously looks great with light denim jeans (as seen in the picture below), and I also think it would look great with my dark itty bitty boot cut jeans from the sale! And how cute would it be to transition to fall with a military jacket thrown over it?!?

Speaking of military jacket, this one from Old Navy  caught my eye. I’m thinking it could be really cute.  OR it could be awful.  It’s a toss up really.  Ha!  😉  Has anybody seen it in person?  My only concern is that the flowers might be too bright.  The ones on top look fine, but the ones in the middle might look too bright and kinda cheesy?  I can’t tell, so I might have to swing by an Old Navy and see this one for myself.

THIS TOP was in my TOP 5 favorite items from the sale.  It popped back up online 2 days ago fully stocked in both grey and pink, and I was PUMPED for y’all.  Sadly, I realized it’s on backorder till mid-November.  I would typically not even post something that was on backorder, but I think this top is actually worth it.

I’m wearing a small, which is true to size for me. If you want it more oversized, size up 1!

This cashmere beauty isn’t available in this color, but it is still available in several other colors!  It has the cutest little ties on the side.  The side slits are pretty high, so I think most people are going to want to wear something under this. The sweater is soft as can be and comes in tons of colors!   I’m wearing a small, so it’s true to size.

These Vince Camuto heeled booties  were a definite favorite from the sale as well, and somehow they continue to remain well stocked!  True to size for me, and quite comfortable for me while walking (considering the tall heel). They originally came in this color and grey, and they now come in black too!

My sister got these studded bow flats for herself (lots of colors to choose from!), and they are her FAVORITES.  I’M DYING!!!!  I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!!!!  Classic with the bow, but edgy with the pointy toe and studs.  And I think they look MUCH MORE expensive than they are.

This item was  a surprise favorite, and it’s still available (in this colorway as well as two others).  I’ve decided that long sleeve night shirts are my perfect type of pajama.  We keep the house pretty chilly at night (which I love), so I like to have a little something on my arms so they don’t have to be under the covers.  I pretty much NEVER sleep in pants.  I mean, my legs get claustrophobic with pants on if they are under covers.  Am I alone in this?

For size reference, I’m wearing a small which is true to size for me.  It recommends to size up, but I didn’t need to.

If you don’t have any HIGH WAISTED LEGGINGS from Zella yet, I trust that you are going to get a pair. Once you wear them, you will be sooooo annoyed when you have to put on the regular waisted ones.  In fact, you’ll find yourself doing laundry just so you don’t have to wear those stupid non-high waisted leggings.  Seriously.

Some smaller chested ladies were asking for a bra recommendation, and the overwhelming response is seen (and linked) below! There were also quite a few endorsements for the Natori thong….and everybody still loves their Hanky Pankys.

I received TONS of questions on the bras and underwear, and my answers to the questions were mainly that I DO NOT hand wash my bras or undies. I wash and dry them with everything else, and they get no special treatment. HOWEVER, lots of ladies said they wash theirs in lingerie bags and then lay flat to dry. That method is probably better, but I’ve never done it. And the answer to the second question is YES, THEY ARE TOTALLY WORTH THE MONEY!

I’ve received 6 e-mails since Monday about this dress!  Some of you already had it and said it’s your favorite dress in your closet, and some of you got it this week and said you are so excited about it.  Every single one of the e-mails raved about the dress!

This off the shoulder number is a great little dress.  It comes in 8 colors total, as well as in regular and petite!  I fell in love with this cobalt blue and thought it paired so nicely with the electric pink.   The shoulders stay off the shoulder (hooray!), and I like how the ruffle is substantial.  I felt great in this dress and feel like it would be a really good dress to have in your closet for many different types of occasions, especially for wedding season.

For size reference, I’m wearing a Medium Petite, which is true to size for me in dresses.  I’m almost 5’4″.

NOW IT’S TIME FOR SANTA ALERTS WITH IN STOCK ITEMS!

I do a SANTA ALERTS post every year at the end of the Anniversary Sale, and I almost forgot to this year!  However, when I hopped online yesterday to buy a couple of Christmas presents for a handful of people on my list, I remembered I needed to do this post!

I mean, pretty much nothing excites me more than CROSSING THINGS OFF OF A LIST.  Yep, I’m one of those people that if I do something that wasn’t even on my list, you can bet that I will write it on the list just so I can cross it off.  I know, it’s a sickness.  BUT IT’S JUST THE BEST FEELING EVER.  So today, I’m going to help you cross some lines off of your Christmas lists!  Yes, I know it’s August, but think how good this is going to feel.

I trust that if you don’t already have a Christmas list written out (of course you don’t), you’ll go ahead and scribble one out right now SO YOU CAN HAVE THE GLORIOUS TASK OF CROSSING THINGS OFF.  One more thing before we get started.  And this is important.  If there’s something you really want here, but can’t justify it for yourself right now, I have a plan for you.  Buy it, put the gift away in a closet, and then tell your hubby you’ve already helped him out with Christmas.  You’ll be happy (because you will be getting something that you actually want!), and he will be THRILLED (because it will be one less gift he has to think about and buy).  It’s like a gift for both of you really.  #icanjustifyanything #merrychristmastoall #hohoho

So, at y’alls suggestion, I ended up getting the mixed metal Kate Spade watch.  And I’m so glad I did.  #yalltoldmeto

It’s gorgeous.  The face is kind of a cross between just plain white and mother of pearl, and the bling all around the face, is just so pretty.  I love that it’s a square face, and I love that it’s smaller than the watches I’ve been wearing the last several years.  I was ready for a change.

And I’m telling you, it looks like a Michele watch.  I was even considering totally splurging and getting a Michele watch in the sale, but this one is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy cheaper and will do just fine!  I love it!

I wore this outfit to church on Mother’s Day. Because sometimes I like to wear jeans to church.  Actually, I like to all the time.  ????  This top runs big, so I’m wearing an x-small.  It also comes in black and white.  You do have to wear a cami under it, but it looks great with the white peeking out under it!

The top is crisp, fresh, and the sleeves make it special!

It also comes in orange spice and black.  The little lacy inset on both the chest and the flutter sleeves is so pretty and feminine.  And the super soft jersey material makes it soft enough to sleep in.  And that’s speaking from experience.  I wore this outfit on Monday to do errands, and at about 1:00 I pulled off my shorts and bra and climbed in bed for a 30 minute power nap.  Why?  #because2puppiesisnojoke ????

It’s a relaxed fit, and the little tiny pleats across the chest and the sleeves are such a nice little detail.  I’m wearing a small (which is my regular size), but it is oversized.  If you want it less blousy, you could size down.  I wore my favorite strapless bra with the top so the straps wouldn’t show through the lace at all (and because it’s so comfy I sometimes wear it when I don’t even have to).  However, if you wore a nude bra, I think it would be fine.  This one is my favorite, and it’s going to be in the sale!
