It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means! It’s time to link up with Erika, Andrea, and Narci to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now!
FAVORITE #1: TOP GOLF
Last weekend we headed to Top Golf on Friday night. We always have the best time there, and this visit was no different. The weather was perfect, the company was awesome, and the cheese fries didn’t hurt. 😉 The little guy and I both sometimes swing and miss (and dad might get a kick out of it), but it doesn’t keep us from having a blast! 🙂

FAVORITE #2: BLACK FRIDAY PREP
Okay, girls….a week from today is BLACK FRIDAY. But don’t y’all worry your pretty little heads about it, I’m going to handle it. Make sure you visit the blog bright and early on Friday morning for a comprehensive guide to the best Black Friday deals!
FAVORITE #3: HOLIDAY ATTIRE
I’ve received many questions over the last several weeks asking for outfit ideas for holiday events and parties. We don’t have anything fancy to go to this year, but I went ahead and ordered some things that caught my eye so I could show them to you ladies!
The first look is a pretty black lace top with simple black dress pants. The idea for this outfit stems from the fact that you most likely already have a pair of classic black pants and some pretty heels. You don’t always have to wear a dress to a holiday event (or spend a ton of money)… just pair some pants you already have with a pretty top (more options to follow in just a minute).
Size References: I’m wearing a small in the top (which is true to size), but it was loose, and I might have been able to wear an x-small…so keep that in mind when ordering. For those of you that need a pair of black pants for your closet, I really liked these. I’m wearing a 4, so they are true to size.
scalloped lace edge top / black pants / earrings / similar heels / strappy heel option / bracelet / red velvet clutch c/o Grateful Bags
And, girls. Look at the GORGEOUS clutch. It TOTALLY MAKES MY OUTFIT! I have great news: STMT50 will get you 50% OFF this weekend! This is an INCREDIBLE deal. The bag with a custom monogram is typically $98 so this makes it $49 including the monogram. I know many of you already have a monogram (from when I talked about the DARLING cork clutch over the summer) so you could actually just order only the clutch. That would make it it only $30!!!!! WOW!!! It comes in this gorgeous cranberry color (which adds such a beautiful pop of color to an all black outfit), but it also comes in a classic black velvet.
And here’s a close up. I’m showing the script monogram in “antique gold”, but you could also order a monogram in the block lettering. gorgeous cranberry clutch / classic black clutch velvet.

And in case you love the idea of just wearing a fancy top with a pair of black pants (that you hopefully already own), here are some other fun top options from several different retailers!
I also ordered a pretty classic black lace dress. I loved the shape of it, the cute little sleeves, and the neckline. I also loved the price tag of $88! For size reference, I’m wearing a small. It was a little tight across the bust, but the medium was huge on me. And I’m afraid this dress isn’t for tall girls. The slip under the lace is shorter than the dress, which I like because it makes the lace really show up! However, I think a really tall girl might have trouble pulling it off.

At the last second, I also threw this trapeze dress in my cart. I thought the velvet flowers were so interesting and pretty. I’m wearing a medium because the small wasn’t available when I ordered it, but I think I need a small. It would be an easy dress to dance in, and it’s just plain fun!

I hope the above 3 outfits have given you some inspirations for your holiday parties!
FAVORITE # 4: HOLIDAY PREP MADE EASY
This one is a little random for the blog, but with the holidays approaching, I thought y’all might want to know about some of the foods available at Burgers’ Smokehouse. A sweet reader (Hi, Kelly!) contacted me and wanted to send me some of their gourmet foods to try out. My hubby was sitting next to me when I opened up the e-mail, and he was all “HECK YA! BRING ON THE BACON!.” 🙂
Chris and Carter absolutely loved the bacon (Carter eats it for breakfast almost every day, and Chris loves a good bacon sandwich). Personally, I couldn’t get enough of the turkey breast. It had a really delicious smoky flavor and was super moist. I HATE a dry turkey, and this was so easy to prepare. I tinted it with foil and baked it in the oven at 350 for about an hour and a half, but since it’s already pre-cooked, there were also microwave directions! If you are having a small Thanksgiving get together, and/or if you are afraid to cook a whole curkey, this smoked turkey breast would be perfect for you! Today (Friday) is the last day to order with FREE STANDARD SHIPPING, so hop over HERE and see if there’s anything you’d like to try! They have TONS of items ranging from ham and turkey, to burgers and steaks, to yummy sides and desserts!
FAVORITE #5: MY SISTER’S GIGI BAG
So after my sister’s last work wear post, I e-mailed my contact at GiGi New York to see if they would treat Conner to a bag for her future work wear posts! And they were so sweet to agree! Conner absolutely LOVES her Teddie tote (she got one several years after seeing me feature it), but this Grace satchel in slate is absolutely STUNNING. It’s seriously a show stopper. The color is gorgeous, and the gold hardware and monogram compliment the grey so nicely. It is a beautiful bag. And let me tell you, she was STRAIGHT UP GIDDY when I gave it to her!
FAVORITE #6: SWEET READERS
Back in October (see the post HERE), I wrote a Tips and Tricks for Blanket Scarves post. I suggested in that post that if you had a blanket scarf that was too bulky, that you could cut it in half, still have a darling scarf (that was less bulky), and then give the other half to a friend! A reader named Becky left me a comment on the post suggesting the term “Friendship Scarf”! I loved it, immediately made this graphic, and thanked Becky in the post.
Well, Becky and both of her daughters read the blog (I love it when I hear that several people in the same family all read the blog!), and one of Becky’s sweet daughter’s contacted me later that day and we arranged a lunch on the McKinney square for this past week. That’s Becky (the mom) and the daughters (Brittney and Krista). We had the best time and I loved getting to know these sweet ladies.
Aren’t they just the absolute cutest!!!! And they are also incredibly sweet and fun! Thanks ladies for such a wonderful afternoon! I was definitely blessed by y’all!
FAVORITE #7: Bobbi Brown gloss set
I mentioned in a previous post how I order a Bobbi Brown lip gloss set for myself every year when it comes out for Christmas. Well, it arrived a couple of days ago, and I was reminded what an awesome gift it makes (whether for yourself or a loved one).
FAVORITE #8: JOSS AND MAIN
I haven’t mentioned this in awhile, but my obsession with checking the Joss and Main site at least twice a week continues. Yesterday I fell in love with THIS precious reindeer pillow. As if the appliqued reindeer wasn’t enough, LOOK AT THE RED POM POM TRIM!!!!!!! And I wish I had somewhere to put this red pick up truck pillow hauling the Christmas tree! Right now there is a ton of Le Crueset in lots of different colors. If you have somebody in your life that loves being in the kitchen, Le Crueset makes a great gift!
FAVORITE #9: EARRING CHRISTMAS CARD
This idea was on the blog last year, but I’ve had lots of e-mail requests for it this year, so I dug into the “archives” and found the earring card! This is a darling (and affordable) gift for teachers, friends, neighbors, etc!!! The below picture is from last year, but this year THESE sets of earrings are the perfect ones to use for the card at only $9.98 for four of them! I think it’s cute to have two pairs on the card, but if you want to be extremely economical, you can just put 1 pair of earrings on each card. You can even write a cute little note on the card like “Thanks for helping Suzie sparkle.” or something similar! 🙂
Just right click and “save as” on this printable. I suggest printing it off on card stock.
Here’s what it looks like all put together! Click HERE for the earrings that are currently available.
FAVORITE #10: SALE ON KATE SPADE WATCHES
I’ve got a Santa Alert for these beautiful Kate Spade watches! All 40% OFF! HELLO, SANTA. And they come in this pretty little box, which is PERFECT for gifting! Such a nice presentation!
square faced watch / rose gold watch / silver and gold watch / white band watch

You’re not the only one swinging and missing at Top Golf! Ha! So many great Christmas ideas today! You’re helping me check things off my list!
Christy says
LOVE all your Friday favorites today. I especially loved the black lace top. I have a question.. I ordered it to wear to an event. What do you think of wearing it with black pants and a deep, cranberry red heel? I have a pair already. Thoughts?
Sheaffer says
Christy, I think it would be GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!! Great idea! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Becky says
Thank you, thank you for taking the time to have lunch! What a treat and a blessing to meet you!! You are just as fun, loving, caring, genuine….I could go on and on….in person, as you are behind the pages of your blog. You are the BEST!! XOXOXO Becky
Sheaffer says
Becky, I had the best afternoon with y’all!!!! Thank YOU! Y’all blessed my socks off!!!!! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Samantha says
Thanks for featuring some holiday party options (I was one of the e-mails)! I’m going to try the lace top you featured. I’m also going to order one of the red lace ones and the feather one. Surely one of them will work for my husband’s work party (gotta love free shipping and returns)!!!! And my family loves Top Golf. Going to have to try those cheese fries. #sheaffertoldmeto
Kristine says
I loved the blanket scarf tip. I have cut 3 so far. I live in AZ and small framed so the thicker scarves sometimes are too much. My daughter loves it. She is getting free scarves.????
Narci says
What a darling dress on you!!! I love it, friend!!! And, what a fun time at lunch!! Those girls are precious!!
Peyton says
Obsessed with that monogrammed clutch! So cute! Also, just ordered a pair of the glitter studs, they’re on sale for $10 and free shipping. You can’t beat it! Thanks for the great idea. May be ordering a few more sets for gifts.
Jenn says
That GiGi bag!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!
Rita says
I tried to purchase the monogrammed clutch with the STMT50 code and it said it was not valid. Has anyone else had that problem?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Rita! It only includes the velvet clutches. Were you trying to purchase a velvet one?
Megan says
I recently bought a plaid blanket scarf at Nordstrom but it’s rectangular. I love it but it’s way too bulky on me and I’d love to cut it but not sure if this will work for a rectangular scarf. Do you know the dimensions of your scarf once you cut it in half into the square? Wondering if I make mine a square if it’ll still work. I hope so because it seems that all the cute blanket scarves I see are a rectangle!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Megan! My blanket scarves started out as a square, but after cutting, they are a triangle. Hope this helps! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Deanna Lee says
Love the pretty party dresses! Cute gift idea with the earrings as tree decorations. I love the gray satchel and the jewelry behind it!
Do you ever feature 31 Bits (jewelry company)? Beautiful items and they look similar to the jewelry that is featured in the picture with the gray satchel.
Also, I love those grey booties!!!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Deanna! I’ll go check out the jewelry! Thanks for the recommendation! xoxo 🙂
Deanna Lee says
Where are those grey booties from? Love them!!!!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Deanna! Which grey booties? The ones on Becky (the mom) or Krista (the daughter)? Or are you talking about something else? Let me know and I’ll help! xoxo
Deanna Lee says
Actually information on either pair of grey booties would be great!
Thanks so much and Happy Thanksgiving to you!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Deanna! So the ones in the middle are Ivanka Trump (from 2 years ago) and they are sold out. The ones on the right are these: http://rstyle.me/n/b6vearpvje . xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Deanna Lee says
Thanks so much!
Kacey says
The satchel given to Conner is stunning. I went to the website and saw how much the bag costs. You are very lucky to be able to call a company and ask for such an extravagant gift! My husband and I both work full-time, plus with daycare costs, and that bag is unattainable. Do you have any other bags that are just as nice you could share with us?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Kacey! I am in complete agreement. The GiGi bag is obviously very nice, and it was VERY generous of them to send Conner such an extravagant bag. When I reached out to them, I sent them links to Conner’s other posts and they got to see her talking about the GiGi tote bag that she had purchased several years ago. To say Conner was thrilled with the new bag is an understatement. 🙂 I’m not sure if you are a new or old reader, but I’m pretty sure that this is the most expensive bag I’ve ever featured. Many (probably the majority) of the bags I’ve talked about in the past are under $100. What kind of bag are you looking for? A tote, a satchel, a cross body? I’d love to provide you with some options! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
April Parrish says
What a deal on the clutch!!! Oh and you look beautiful in that lace dress!!! Stunning!
Have a great weekend!
Sheaffer says
Awww, thanks April! And yes….the clutch is an amazing deal!!!! xoxo 🙂
Megan says
I currently have 9 sets of the earrings ready for teacher/therapist gifts. I will definitely be using this printable for a cute presentation. Thanks for helping me step up my mom game!
