JULY 4th WEKKEND
We headed to the ranch for the 4th and had a great time as always! I didn’t take many pictures at all, but I do have two to share…
We hung out at a friend’s lake house with lots of friends. Floating in the lake, tubing, and eating were the 3 main things on the agenda and we checked everything off of our list!
And you know I always like to get a picture of these two on our favorite tree-lined road.

MEAT ELITE
For the last 3 years, Carter and some of his buddies have been playing basketball over the summer in a local rec league. The kids have so much fun playing, which in turn makes them so much fun to watch. Most of the teams that play are made up of boys that actually play basketball for their schools, but none of our boys do (which is probably why they are so fun/funny to watch). 🙂 We have a quarterback, a drummer, a couple of soccer players, a tennis player, a long-distance runner, and a handful of baseball players…. but no actual basketball players. They’re a great group, and I’m telling you the games are the highlight of my week!
Love this group so much.

This embroidered shift dress is 50% OFF, but sizes are going fast. It’s a really great red with really fun embroidery! It’s 100% cotton and y’all know I love the shift fit, but there are several details that make it really special. The square neckline is very unique, and the geometric cut outs and embroidered flowers make it really stand out. It has a hidden zipper, but I was able to just slip this one over my head (which I prefer).
It is lined underneath in the same red colorway, so there’s no need to wear a slip. I’m wearing a small here, but I actually think a medium might be a better fit. It looks a bit roomier on the model, and I think I might like it better that way.

This embroidered bubble top is 25% OFF. It’s a 100% crip cotton poplin, fully lined so the cut-out embroidery doesn’t show any skin, and it’s got a fun bubble hem. I prefer to wear my bubble hem pulled down, but you could of course pull it up again if you want to show your midriff. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
The embroidered midi skirt is also a crisp cotton poplin and also 25% OFF. It has an elastic waist, pockets, and is partially lined. And look at the scalloped hem! I got a small in the skirt.

And how cute is the top with denim shorts. And imagine how cute it would be with white boot cut jeans and wedges!

It comes in this brown and white as well. The shorts aren’t on sale, but the top is!
When browsing online, I saw this shirt and shorts set and was immediately drawn to it. I think it’s absolutely adorable.

SOME NORDSTROM FINDS
This striped tee is a perfect basic. It’s from Nordstrom, affordable, and it also comes in a neutral stripe. It’s not cropped, but it is on the shorter side so you can just wear it out and it hits perfectly just right at my waist. It’s very soft and just fits great. I wish it came in solid colors too. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
And I’m in love with the necklaces. Picture the outfit without the necklaces… the necklaces add so much fun and personality!

This square neck top is easy, breezy, and oh so cute. It’s a lightweight linen blend with soft gathers across the chest and a relaxed fit. And this square neck, y’all. I love a square neck. It’s embroidered and so much fun. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

This cute little cardi is all sorts of festive, but it of course will be great all spring and summer. It’s 100% cotton, and while of course it could be worn open over a tee or tank, I really like it worn partially buttoned like this without anything under it. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

A FAVORITE SWEATSHIRT IN NEW COLORS
I know it’s July.
So I know you’re not expecting me to talk about a sweatshirt.
But here I am.
TALKING ABOUT A SWEATSHIRT.
Because one of my favorite sweatshirts I’ve ever owned just launched in NEW COLORS!
I’m getting this Cranberry for sure. First of all, I’ve always loved this color. Second of all, Carter is applying to A&M and OU, and although it definitely leans A&M I feel like it could pass for OU too. So yeah, I don’t really have a choice.
I also love this green.
And here’s the deal, I know it might feel counterintuitive to buy a sweatshirt when it’s a freaking hundred degrees outside, but you will be thanking yourself in the fall.

These cream ankle jeans are included in the sale and one of my newer favorite finds! They are from our beloved Risen brand, and they definitely live up to the Risen hype. They’ve got the perfect amount of stretch (stretchy, but don’t stretch out), and they are SO comfy, SO flattering, and SO CUTE! I love the utility pockets and the subtle ankle flare. I’m only 5’4″ and would like them to show a bit more ankle, but I still really like them at this length. I think they’ll be cute with sneakers too. True to size for me.
You know the pink and red stripes grabbed ahold of me and didn’t let go. The colors are just so fun and vibrant! Now listen, this is a super boxy fit. I happen to like a boxy fit, but if you don’t, this is not the sweater for you. I sized down to a small and am very glad I did because it’s still plenty roomy.

SPANX FINDS
Okay, these super wide leg jeans are a new SPANX find for me. They are totally out of my comfort zone, but I have to say that I’m digging them! They are lightweight and sooooooooo on trend with the super wide legs, but they somehow still manage to be flattering. They take a bit of getting used to, but I feel like a cool mom when I wear them. They come in 4 washes, and I’m wearing “oceanic” below. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. I didn’t know what size to get because I’ve never had SPANX jeans, but I’m a petite medium in their leather leggings so I went with the petite medium in the jeans too. Since I went with petite, I have to wear flat sandals with them for them to fall right, but this is the casual vibe I wanted for this look.
These jeans feature their signature 360-degree panel for tummy, waist, and back smoothing and are designed to be a go-to warm-weather denim. They are vintage-inspired, drape beautifully, and flatter your figure from every angle.
This terry tee is from Splendid (not SPANX), and I’m pretty much in love with it. Soft with a relaxed shape and just the right amount of structure, it’s the one you’ll reach for when getting dressed needs to feel easy. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Talk about a classic. This white button up is about as classic as it gets, but SPANX decided to give it a luxurious upgrade with the Premium Supima® Cotton and a super-fine yarn count. It’s got an oversized fit, a high/low waist, and it feels amazing on. VERY lightweight and not at all stuffy or boxy like some button-ups.
For size reference, I’m wearing a medium, but I think a small would be better on me. It is touted as an “oversized” shirt, but I did think it was a bit too roomy on me for the type of shirt it is. I think I would prefer it to fit a bit closer and feel a bit more tailored. (I have it tied because there was a bit too much fabric to tuck in.)

AVARA FINDS
Okay, y’all. This dress is fabulous, and it’s flying off the shelves. I’m in love with it.
The colors! The pattern! The wide rick rack trim! The belted waist! It’s all soooooooo good!
And while totally modern, it also has a bit of a vintage vibe to it. Think Sound of Music in the best way possible.
I really do love it.

Fresh, feminine, and an unexpected purple and red color palette. I like the graphic pattern, the split neck, the subtle puff sleeves, and the tiered skirt. This is a little longer than I would typically like, but I’m only 5’4″, so that’s good news for you taller ladies. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

I really like this yellow flutter sleeve top as I’m looking at it on me in the picture below, but in real life I thought it was much too big and way too much fabric. The bright and sunshiny yellow makes me happy, and the ruffle sleeves and overall shape are good IN THEORY, but the fit just wasn’t flattering on me. Maybe it would have helped to size down? I’m not sure, but my regular medium wasn’t it, and I’m not sure that a size small would fit that differently and help that much.

Y’all. This dress is fabulous. I love everything about it. The color combo, the ribbon accent, the neckline, the puff sleeves, the overall fit. It’s just a really great dress. I highly recommend this one! For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

I’m totally smitten with this shirt dress. It’s a super relaxed fit and is very forgiving, but the shirt dress styling really elevates it. And I think everybody knows I’m a sucker for a vibrant red, and this red totally hit the mark for me. I love red paired with turquoise, so I grabbed this chunky turquoise heart necklace.
