It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means! It’s time to link up with Erika and Andrea to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now.

AERIE SET
Well.
I didn’t mean for this to happen.
But I now own 4 colors of the Oh Snap sweatshirt.
oops
One of my besties from high school (shout out, Jill!) has a college bestie (shout out, Carrie!), and we are now dear friends too. I also love Carrie’s mom (shout out, Laura!) and Carrie’s daughter Reese. Well, Carrie and Reese knew I loved these sweatshirts, and they insisted I give the barrel sweatpants a try. Carrie and Laura let me boss them around all the time telling them what to buy, so who was I to argue.
Carrie was right. She told me to, and I sure am glad I listened. #carrietoldmeto
Now I’m not saying these sweatpants are super flattering, but I am saying that I don’t care. 😉 I wore this exact outfit all day Wednesday and all day Thursday around the house, and I’m not sure if I’ve ever been more happy because OHHHHHHHMYYYYYYYYYY is it comfy. I’m wearing an x-small in the sweatshirt and the sweatpants. I do think the sweatpants are a little short on me (I’m 5’4″ with long legs and no torso), but I think the smalls would have been too oversized. So my suggestion would be to size down 1 to 2 sizes in the sweatshirt (I sized down 2) and size down probably 1 size in the pants because they are quite roomy.

So a couple of weeks ago I told you I purchased the Aerie slides (on the left) to compare them against the UGG slides (on the right). I was hoping I was going to love the Aerie ones because they are so much more affordable.
I like the color of the Aerie ones more than the UGGs, and I like the platform sole for the bit of extra height they give me (see platform height in next picture). However, the Aerie slides didn’t fit me great. Something about the heel made them slip up and down on me when I walked, and I don’t think it’s because they were too big.
Aerie Hangout Slides / UGG Classic Micro

The Ugg slides fit me much better with no slipping AND OH MY WORD ARE THEY COMFY. I’m a 1/2 size, and I sized up the first time I bought them, but they were much too big. So I exchanged them, sized down, and they are now a perfect fit.
The UGG Classic Micro are one of the IT gifts this year, especially for high school and college kids, so grab them while the size you need is still available.

SOME FABULOUS SWEATERS
This leopard sweater is FABULOUS. It’s super soft, pretty thick, and very warm. It’s got a slouchy and relaxed fit, and it’s just super cozy. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
My crop bootcut jeans are STILL ON SALE! They are a very soft denim with great stretch, so they hug your curves in all the right places. Also, the denim is a good weight, so you will feel held in and supported. The seams on each side of the bottom of each leg are my favorite part. It’s such a nice detail, and they really modernize the whole look. For size reference, I’m wearing a 4.

It looks great with these black boot cut jeans too! And it would look great with some nice black trousers (I have and love these) as well.
These black itty bitty boot cut jeans are pretty new to me, and I think they’re great. Y’all know I’ve been a lover of the Wit and Wisdom bootcut jeans for years and years, so grabbing this washed black pair was pretty much a no brainer for me. I like how they’re not shiny black like some black denim is, and they have a bit of a “lived in” look in person. They are insanely flattering and comfy (with the stretch), which is the perfect combination. They do have the brand’s Contour Shape Technology, which makes for a smooth and tailor made fit! For size reference, I’m wearing my regular size 4.

I’m completely smitten with this ruffle cardi sweater. First, there’s just no denying that it is absolutely darling. I mean, look at the ruffled yoke and the pretty pointelle stitches along the sleeves! And check out the sweet ruffle at the sleeve’s hem too. It’s feminine and lovely. I like wearing it all buttoned up, but you could of course wear it unbuttoned with a tee under it as well. It also comes in a great charcoal grey. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. Oh, and it’s very soft and not scratchy at all (even though it’s got a high wool content).

Seen with the black jeans here, you can definitely see how it could easily be dressed up for the office with a nice pair of black pants or a skirt.

Okay, stop it.
This sweater is expensive. I mean, it’s more than I’ve ever spent on a sweater, but I think I’m keeping it because I love it so so much.
I’m a sucker for fair isle, but this particular pattern and these colors are really speaking to me. It’s warm and cozy and incredibly cute. And I know it’s expensive, but it is beautifully made, and I know I will wear it for years and years to come. So I think I’ve totally justified the price tag? 😉 For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Goodness I love it.

Well, surprise surprise. I’ve got another fair isle sweater I love. This one looks and feels very high end too. It is beautifully made. I love the oversized fit, the tight cuffs. and how the pattern repeats on both the neck and shoulder line and on the sleeves. For size reference, I’m wearing a 6. If between sizes, size down.

Looks great with the black denim too…

Continuing with the fair isle theme, I’ve got a much more affordable option for you here. And when I say affordable, I mean affordable. Right now it’s on sale for ONLY $22.49! It is incredibly soft and cozy and looks cute worn with and without a tee. It is on the shorter side, so if you have a long torso, you will want to keep that in mind. It’s a great little cardi, and it comes in several solid color options as well. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Here’s the same cardi in a dark grey with red and white accents.

This v-neck sweater is lightweight, would be great for layering, and has a thick banded hem that can be worn in (on the right) or out (on the left). It has a very roomy fit, and it drapes nicely. If between sizes, I would definitely recommend sizing down. I’m in the medium, but I think a small would probably be better.

I first showed this sweater several years ago. I’ve worn it and loved it for at least 2 years now, and it still looks brand new. I was so happy to see it back this year. It’s bright, happy, colorful, and makes me smile. The colors are so vibrant! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. Again, if you’re between sizes, I would suggest sizing down.

SOME SANTA ALERTS
I know all you moms out there are fielding questions from all of your family members right now on what they can get your kids. I sent the link for this bluetooth spaker / alarm clock / night light to my mom to grab for Carter last year. It’s a great price point at right at $30.

This is the watch we got Carter a couple of years ago for Christmas. He wears it every day and loves it.

RANCH / COLLEGE STATION WEEKEND
A couple of weeks ago we headed to the ranch with another family and several of Carter’s friends. We chilled at the ranch on Friday night, and then we headed to College Station on Saturday morning to watch A&M play South Carolina.

We got to campus a couple of hours before the game and were able to walk around a bit, check out the campus, and see all of the pre-game festivities. It was a fantastic atmosphere.

The game was CRAZY. At half time, A&M was getting beaten by South Carolina 31-3. I don’t know what Coach Elko said in the locker room at half time, but whatever he said, it worked! The Aggies came back and won the game, y’all! We had SO MUCH FUN!

It was such a fun time with a really great group!

Here’s what I wore to the game…
It was blazing hot on game day, so this blouse kept me as cool as possible. I’m wearing a medium.

WHAT TO BUY FOR YOUR GUY!
This collage is full of tried-and-true gifts for the guys in your life. And all items are from Amazon!
The soft-shell jacket is under $35, has near perfect reviews (over 5,000 of them!) and looks super similar to Chris’s North Face jacket. The Jack Black gift set is a great way to start your man on a skincare routine. The moccasin slippers are under $30 and have thousands of 5 STAR reviews. The tire pressure gauge makes a great stocking stuffer, and a G Shock watch is always a fantastic gift idea. Carter and Chris both have a G Shock and wear them every single day. The hammock is actually what we got Carter last year. We take it to the ranch and we all love it. It’s a big hit!

I can’t remember if I got this slim wallet for Chris for Christmas, for his birthday, or for Father’s Day… but he absolutely LOVES it. He says it’s a great slim size, but it still holds everything he needs. He was so tired of his big wallet, and this was the perfect answer. The other side is a peek-a-boo window where he keeps his license.
It’s under $20, so even if you think you already have everything for your guy, go ahead and add this too! He’ll love it!

That’s all for today, y’all! Have a wonderful weekend with your people!

Your hair has never looked better!! So shiny and bouncy and just beautiful!!! It was always pretty but it seems like something has changed. Did I miss a post (totally possible)? If I didn’t, could you please share your tips and secrets, either in a comment or a post? Thanks so much and I wish a very Happy Holiday for you, your family and your friends!!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Ashley! First of all, thank you SO MUCH!!!! Doesn’t every girl love a hair compliment!!!!! 🙂
So this was never really a plan, but I guess I started growing my hair out earlier this year. Each time I’ve gone for a cut and color recently I’ve told her to barely take anything off, and I guess it’s finally showing. I think the additional length is allowing you to see the shine and bounce, if that makes sense. I exclusively use Colleen Rothschild haircare products, so I give Colleen lots of credit! I give Amanda (my hairstylist that I love) all the credit for cut and color (she does all over color because of my greys on my crown… and then she does some highlights every several months or so). I still use rollers to initially style my hair, and then some days I also use the Chi Curl n’ Spin tool. The rollers definitely help with the bounce, but they seem to help with the shine too! I’ve had several comments about my hair recently, so maybe I need to do a post breaking things down! And seriously, thank you again for the compliment! xoxo
