It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means! It’s time to link up with Erika and Andrea to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now.

GRANDMOMMY
Chris’s grandmother passed away in the early morning hours on Wednesday, and although we know she is rejoicing with Jesus, all of us left on earth miss her terribly.
Grandmommy was one of the very best people I have ever known, and I was so very lucky to have had her in my life for 30 years.
She was a woman of incredible faith, she loved people and showed them, and she had a tremendous impact on hundreds if not thousands. She taught school for 25 years, she was proudly involved in her church (and I do mean INVOLVED), and she was one of the founding members and Volunteer Coordinator for Hospice of Mercy in Mexia. She touched countless lives and everybody loved her.
Years ago Chris, Carter, and I picked her up from her nursing home on Christmas Eve, took her to dinner, and then took her to the Christmas Eve service at her church. It was one of my favorite memories with her because it was such a treat seeing how people fell all over themselves to talk to her and hug her. She was so beloved. I told her she was like the homecoming queen for the entire town and that we needed to give her a sash and a crown, put her on a float, and drive her around to wave at her fans. 🙂
And check this out… I posted about this before, but she actually won Senior Queen at her nursing home and advanced to the finals in Waco where she won there too. 🙂
She lived a beautiful and amazing life that was filled with love.
Click HERE if you would like to read her obituary. You will be so amazed at all she did!!
Chris and Grandmommy had a very special relationship. He absolutely adored her, and she adored him right back. He called her several times a week and would visit her in town every time he was at the ranch (and deliver her very favorite meal). Every time he would call her, Chris would say “What are you doing?” as soon as she answered, and she would reply “Talking to you.” Every single time. They were quite the pair.
She is so very missed, but we are so thankful for the promise that we will see her again. We love you, Grandmommy!

MORE DRESSES
I had a post that featured lots of dresses last week, and it was very well received.
After all, we’ve got Easter coming up, and I know we’re in the season for graduation, graduation parties, and wedding showers too. This means lots of y’all are in the market for some dresses! I’ve got some great dresses to share today, and I hope y’all will find something that strikes your fancy.
This floral midi dress is absolutely charming. I love the navy, but it comes in coral too. It has a super comfortable smocked waist and a great deep v-neck (that’s not too deep) and it does have a modesty snap. It also has pockets and elbow length sleeves, two of my favorite dress features. I’ve styled it with my favorite heeled sandals, but it would be great with flat sandals too. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Y’all, these faux pearl drop earrings are fabulous. I just got them this week and think they are gorgeous! They are big enough to make a statement, but still understated enough that you could wear them with all different sorts of outfits. I’m wearing them with every single dress today, and I’m wearing them with my Easter dress this year!

These are the sandals I’m wearing in most of the pics today. As you can see, I own them in the cognac color as well as the lighter neutral with studs, but they actually come in 32 colors.
I also want them in cork, clear, and black…. and I just may get them all! Regularly $54, all 3 colors I want are on sale for UNDER $25 right now! Which means I could get 3 pairs for under $75.
They are SUPER comfortable and very easy to wear. True to size for me.
This smocked waist dress is different than anything I have in my closet, and I love it. The neutral and green pattern is somehow chic and fun at the same time, and I think the cut is both incredibly comfortable and flattering. I’m wearing a medium, but I would suggest sizing down in this one if between sizes. The fit is very forgiving.

This eyelet flutter sleeve dress is fun, flirty, and feminine…but the navy colorway and eyelet pattern make it classic too. The v-neck, the tiny ruffle collar, and the ruffle sleeves are all so pretty. And I love the tiered skirt! And the pockets! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

This dress isn’t for me because it’s longer than I’d like and the hemline is like a shirt hemline, which I don’t love (you can see the hemline in the next pic).
Still, I think this dress is fabulous and it could be a great fit for some of you taller girls! The print is whimsical, and I love the shirt dress styling. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium, but I think I would be happier with the fit of a small.

I’m not keeping this tie neck mini dress because my tummy is my problem area, and I don’t think this dress is super flattering on me.
HOWEVER, if you have a flat belly, I think you might love this dress. The tiny floral pattern is lovely and you’re going to feel like you’re wearing pajamas, so you should scoop it up when it’s on limited time sale! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

I love the color of this maxi, and although it could be worn to all sorts of different occasions, I think it screams VACATION! Or maybe beach wedding?!?! You can wear it off the shoulder, or you can wear it on your shoulders for a great square neck. It’s lined and it’s super comfortable. For size reference, I’m wearing a small because the site suggested to size down.

Speaking of vacation, this little dress is a great option for vacation (or maybe a girl’s lunch, or maybe just running around town). It also comes in black, white, and navy… and it’s ONLY $49! It’s 100% cotton, the straps are adjustable, and it goes great with a denim jacket. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Okay, y’all. I’m going to be honest. I’m kind of flipping out over this super adorable eyelet dress.
It is 100% cotton and fully lined. It’s a little bit longer on me than I typically like, but that’s good news for those of you that are taller (I’m 5’4″).
And get this, it comes in 20 colors. This green is gorgeous, but I love so many of the colors. The black, the white, the hot pink, the blush, and the red are all excellent choices too. I also love the orange, and I never like orange. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Prepare to be amazed with this next one…
I am absolutely blown away by the quality of this dress. It looks and feels very high end, and it’s very on trend with the bows up and down the bodice. I have the upper bow undone here, but it’s super cute as a bow too. (I have virtually no neck, so it looks better on me undone because it helps elongate my non-existent neckline.) 🙂
And look at the eyelet and the scallops on the hemline! I’m telling you, this dress will blow you away too! I’m wearing a small, so I would suggest sizing down.
Oh….several more things… it has pockets AND fantastic reviews. And it also comes in black and white.
And here’s the last thing: YOU AREN’T GOING TO BELIEVE THE PRICE. You might fall out of your chair.
This is a Shopbop quality dress, but you will only have to pay a fraction of Shopbop prices.

I love everything about this dress, except the neckline. Again, it does me no favors with my non-existent neck (see picture on left) :), but look HOW DARLING the little ruffled neck is (see picture on the right). And the details of the scalloped finish of both the sleeves and the hem make it look high end. But again, the price is going to knock your socks off. It also comes in navy and white. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

And don’t forget about these dresses I showed last week…
Use the code SIMS15 for 15% OFF for the remaining 4 dresses.
This white eyelet dress is so charming. It’s fully lined with gorgeous lace details, a great split neck, scalloped lace sleeves, and a fabulous layered and scalloped skirt. The fabric belt cinches in the waist and just finishes the look off perfectly. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
The Juliette dress is my favorite kind of dress with an A-line silhouette, a split neck, a short hem, some puffy sleeves (that aren’t too puffy), pockets, and A RUFFLE SKIRT. These types of dresses look the best on my body type, and I’ve gottta say, I love a dress without a zipper. I find that most dresses with zippers are often too tight on me (especially across the chest), so these types of dresses you slip over your head really work the best for my body type.
This one is actually an Avara exclusive that you won’t see anywhere else, and I’m in love with the vibrant colors and fun print. This one would also be cute with a denim jacket and sneakers.
For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. It is a bit tight across the chest and the site recommends sizing up, but if you’re not super busy, I don’t think you will necessarily need to. Extended sizes available.
Juliette dress / heart toggle necklace / gold bracelet stack / neutral sandal option
A super similar fit, but a much sweeter print, the Hazel dress could be dressed up with heels or dressed down with flat sandals. This one is almost gone, so don’t delay if you want it.
The A-line silhouette is totally working for me again, and I love the contrasting striped trim on this one. It isn’t tight across the chest like the one above, so I would say true to size on this one. I’m wearing the medium.
floral dress / heart toggle necklace / gold bracelet stack / square toe heel
If you prefer a longer hemline, this belted dress is absolutely lovely. The repeated botanical print is so very charming. I think this dress will surprise you, I know it did me when I slipped it on! It’s a lightweight cotton that doesn’t wrinkle, and the v-neck and tie waist are just as cute as can be. I love it here with wedges, but I also think it would be adorable with sneakers worn super casually. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. Extended sizes available!

SPRING BREAK
Our Spring Break was a couple of weeks ago now, but I’m just now getting around to sharing…
We went to the ranch for the entire week, and although it was very sad to not have Buddy there with us (it was his favorite place in the world), we were still so glad to be there as a family.
The first weekend we had neighbors/friends go with us. There were 4 adults and 4 kids (in addition to us), and we somehow managed to not get a group pic. #bloggerfail We kept on waiting for everybody to all be in the same place at the same time, and it just never happened.
We spent Monday-Thursday with just us, and then Thursday-Sunday the Harris family came down. You’ve seen pics of these boys with us at the ranch the last several years. They always have the best time together.
They hit the ground running and started fishing immediately.
They fished until sundown the first day there.
And they were back at it early the next day.
They found an old flag in an abandoned shack on the property, so they zip tied it onto a stick and drove around with it all weekend long.
In addition to fishing and skeet shooting, March Madness was happening, so there was also a lot of basketball watching.
And there’s always football.
We sure do love having these boys down.

END OF YEAR SOCCER PARTY
We had our end of the year soccer party on Wednesday! If you’re local and need to host an event like this, I highly recommend Stix Ice House.
Several team members weren’t able to make it because of club games, but a great time was had by all!
