It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means! It’s time to link up with Erika and Andrea to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now.

FAMILY PICS
I always love sharing a peek into our family on Friday Favorites blog posts…
This kid loves his dogs and he is ALWAYS snuggling them. I snapped these pics earlier this week and Carter looks older than I would like him to. #timeisathief
Chris and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary last week!!! HOW IN THE WORLD are we old enough to have been married 20 years?!?
Well, Carter’s favorite food is steak, so we were excited to bring him along with us to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse.
Needless to say, the kid enjoyed his meal.
When they brought him the kid’s menu that had a 4 oz steak on it, he politely declined and ordered the 16 oz ribeye. It was so much fun to watch him experience fine dining. He gobbled up the shrimp appetizer and then polished off his steak and garlic mashed potatoes. He couldn’t get over the sizzling butter on the steak and insisted I come home and look up a copy cat recipe for the barbecue shrimp app and steak butter. It was great fun!
Brody (my nephew) spent the night with us last weekend, and we had so much fun with the little guy. We saw Boss Baby at the Movie House and Eatery. Full disclosure, I didn’t love the movie, but I did love the pizza.

COLLEEN ROTHSCHILD
This is for all of you devoted Colleen Rothschild users out there…
There’s a FLASH SALE this weekend. There’s only 6 items included, but I actually use and love all 6 items.
I’m out of the clarifying detox mask and the mandelic acid radiance serum, so I need to take advantage of the sale to restock.
If you are interested in any of these products, my biggest suggestion is to go read about each of the products online AND read the reviews. The reviews will make a believer out of you. Bottom line, Colleen’s products do what they claim to do, and the reviews support that.
Again, click HERE for the 6 items in the sale. The styling cream (the big pink tube) is on sale for JUST $19 and I love it. So does my mom!

FAVORITE LIP PRODUCTS
So I’ve talked about both of these products before, but when I left them at the ranch a couple of weeks ago I realized that I cannot live without them. They deserve another mention since I ordered them the second I realized I had left them.
The Brazillian Kiss Lip Butter is only $18, and I think it’s an awesome product. First of all, it smells heavenly. It goes on very smoothly and isn’t sticky at all, but the best part about it is definitely the smell. I’ve gotten sooooo many friends hooked on this product.
If you needs something super hydrating that will repair cracked and dry lips, go with the Lip Sleeping Mask.
Brazillian Kiss Lip Butter / Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
This Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is a product that I absolutely swear by, and I’m pumped to try the NEW peach iced tea option that just hit the shelves!
I keep this mask on my nightstand and use it every single night. Like, I can’t go to sleep if I don’t have it on, and I travel with it too. I had several friends that recommended this to me years ago, and I’m so glad they did.
I don’t suffer from dry and flaky lips, which is what this product really targets, but I do love going to bed at night with super moisturized lips and my goodness does this product deliver. For me, it just gives me extra silky and smooth lips. If you suffer from dry and flaky lips, this is going to be a game changer for you. If you apply a thick layer at night, when you wake up the next morning, the flakes are going to be sitting on top of the skin. They then recommend taking a damp wash cloth to wipe the flakes away.
When Carter got terrible wind burn on his lips when playing soccer, we were able to totally get them back to normal just using this product for 2 days. This mask has over 8,000 5 star reviews, and I totally get it.

ZAPPOS
I’m super excited about a post that I have coming up with Zappos next month. Y’all. I thought Zappos was just shoes and I was soooooooooooooooooooooo wrong. It used to be just shoes, right?
They’ve got everything now! Clothes! Bags! Accessories! and of course Shoes!
When I prepare for a post, I typically order way more than I need to, but it’s because I want to give myself several options to choose from once I start trying stuff on. Still, I thought you might enjoy a quick look at what’s in my cart so far. There are so many items to choose from on the site that I’m having trouble deciding on what “look” I want to go for. I mean, I might go the active wear and yoga route….or I might go with some simple and classic basics that will be work horses in your closet. Only time will tell.
I’ll probably spend about an hour on the site tomorrow before placing my order. I typically just start placing things in my cart that I like, and after awhile, a look starts to emerge! Here’s what’s in my cart so far….obviously I’m not yet close to deciding on a look….
* neutral Tory Burch cross body
* floral Free People body suit
* New Balance sneakers in in sea salt / rose water
I feel confident inspiration will strike tomorrow after I spend more time on the site. Stay tuned! And I’m curious, did y’all know that Zappos had pretty much everything? I think I’m grabbing new sneakers and a new backpack for Carter from the site as well.

HOME FINDS
One of my absolutely favorite things to do is to drop by HomeGoods and just stroll the aisles. I always feel like it’s such a treasure hunt, and more often than not, I typically walk away with something special that’s also a great deal.
I had some fun this week trying to find some online treasures at TJ Maxx online, and I found lots of great pieces. This is not sponsored, I just thought it would be fun (and I was right). Haha!
Check out these beautiful finds! The rugs are stunning and SO WELL PRICED, I love the idea of #10 leaning against a wall with several cozy blankets hanging over it, and I’m dying that this adorable pair of lamps (#11) is just under $80 FOR THE PAIR! I would love to have any and all of these pieces in my home.
1) textured pillow / 2) wooden orb set / 3) serving bowl and server set / 4) table fan / 5) blush velvet pillow / 6) succulent / 7) bench / 8) small planter / 9) basket with handles / 10) blanket ladder / 11) pair of lamps / 12) striped napkins / 13) round metal mirror / 14) art / 15) runner / 16) rug

VACUUM QUESTION
If you’ve been following the blog for a bit, perhaps you remember that I reviewed a stick vacuum in August of last year that I was introduced to and loved. On Wednesday’s post I talked about a new stick vacuum that I love, and several readers left questions on either the blog or social media asking which one I liked better. I answered some of the questions over on facebook, but I thought I should answer on the blog too for those that don’t follow on social.
Here’s one of the questions left on the blog: Just wondering if you think the Dyson stick vac is substantially better than the one you posted about last year….. I think it was on EBay, but I don’t recall the brand. You were quite impressed with it, and it was much less expensive. – Lynne
It’s a great question, Lynne!
My answer follows:
So last year I was introduced to the MooSoo vacuum and we freaking loved it AND STILL DO! It’s super economical, lightweight, and does a great job. We’d never had a stick vacuum before, and we couldn’t believe how much easier it was to use than our big Dyson. It’s an awesome vacuum, especially for the money, and I one thousand percent stand by my review of it last year.
But when I saw the Dyson stick vacuum was on the HSN list for possible items for my sponsored post this month, I OF COURSE picked it. My sister raves about hers and I know thousands of y’all swear by yours as well, and to be honest, I’d always wanted to try it.
So I got it.
AND WE LOVE IT.
We’ve basically vacuumed the entire house. And I don’t just mean the floors. Shutters, cabinets, lampshades, light fixtures, our headboard, mirrors, picture frames…NOTHING IS SAFE.
So let’s compare the MooSoo Stick Vacuum with the Dyson V8 Animal Pro Cordless Stick Vacuum.
First of all, the Dyson is definitely superior, but goodness gracious it should be! Compared to the MooSoo, the suction on the Dyson is much more powerful (you should see the lines it leaves on our bedroom carpet). The attachments on the Dyson are better too. I swear, my house has NEVER been so clean. Chris does most of the vacuuming around here, and he is so impressed. He loves the MooSoo too, but agrees the Dyson is better.
I do love that the MooSoo has a light on it because it makes seeing every little dust particle SO EASY and I also love that you don’t have to continue to push the trigger when vacuuming with the MooSoo. Dyson needs to take notes on these two matters.
Oh one other positive for the Dyson is that emptying the gunk out of it is soooo much easier than with the MooSoo. You push a button and it kind of squeegees everything out so I don’t have to stick my hand in there like I do with the MooSoo (which is a huge plus).
So what’s the final verdict? Well, I have 2 awesome vacuums that I love.
I will still recommend the MooSoo because it is a really great vacuum and an incredible deal. I mean, it’s under $100 and it really gets the job done!
However, if cost was no object, I would definitely pick the Dyson. But listen, I get that cost is most often a HUGE factor.
So here’s my recommendation…
If you can easily afford the Dyson V8 Animal Pro Cordless Stick Vacuum, get it! You won’t be disappointed.
If you need a more economical option, I think you will be so impressed with the MooSoo Stick Vacuum, especially for the price. Until I tried the Dyson, I was SO HAPPY with the MooSoo. I mean, I continue to be happy with the MooSoo…but now that we have the Dyson, it’s the one we reach for. We’ve moved the MooSoo upstairs, and the Dyson remains downstairs for the daily (and sometimes more) vacuuming. Listen, life is tough with two Golden Retrievers. Haha!
That’s the MooSoo on the left and the Dyson on the right. IN SUMMARY: BOTH ARE AMAZING VACUUMS. And listen, if you don’t have a stick vacuum, you really need to invest in one today. YOU WON’T REGRET IT. In fact, we very rarely get out our regular Dyson anymore. Being free of the heavy vacuum AND THE CORD is AWESOME. I never had a stick vacuum until last year, but I will NEVER not have a stick again.
And in closing, let’s agree to not talk about how much Carter has grown. The picture on the left was taken in August of last year. My what a difference a year can make. Hold me.

Hi Sheaffer. Happy Anniversary! I loved the story about Carter and the 16oz. steak. I have twin sons who are almost 17 and they eat so much food! I am very excited for your Zappos post. Zappos actually rescued me in May when I needed a special occasion dress and had struck out at Nordstrom and Anthro and local boutiques. It was down to the wire with my timing. With their free fast shipping I ordered a bunch of things last minute and wound up with a beautiful Lauren by Ralph Lauren dress. It was super easy to ship back the returns. Anyway, just wanted to share my good experience; I had previously only bought shoes, but they have a really good selection of special occasion dresses by quality brands. Have a wonderful weekend!

This is great feedback! Thank you, Keri!!!! I’m excited to see all that they have to offer! xoxo

I bought the MooSoo stick vacuum last year off eBay after seeing your reviews. We have 2 inside dogs also. We loved it at first, but now the suction is not as good and everything gets stuck in the handle. We are constantly taking it apart to get it unclogged. If you haven’t bought one yet, I would definitely pay the difference and go with a well named brand like Dyson.
Sheaffer says
Oh no, Joy! I hate to hear that you are having trouble with the Moosoo! Ours is still going strong, and taking it apart sounds terrible. I’m so sorry! xoxo
