In the picture below, the longer adjustable necklace is part of the sale!  I love this necklace so much.  It’s great on it’s own, and it’s perfect for layering.  It comes in both gold and silver.  Some pieces are shiny, and some are hammered, which creates an awesome look.  You slip the necklace over your head (you never have to hook it!) and then you adjust it to the length you want.  I choose my length depending on what I’m wearing.

Here I am wearing the necklace a bit longer, but it can still extend even further.

And yes, I’m obsessed with my new top.  It’s a gorgeous red with DARLING puffed and ruffled sleeves.  I’ll show it in more detail next week (I’ve already taken the pics), but I’m afraid it might sell out before then.  I’m wearing a medium in the tee, so I would definitely size up if between sizes.  It’s pricey, but I love it.

And GREAT NEWS!  My favorite denim shorts EVER are BACK IN STOCK! If you don’t have them, I’m not sure what you are waiting for.  This is my 3rd year with them I believe, and it’s almost stupid how often I wear them during the summer.  Ha! These drawstring shorts  are one of my favorite finds of the summer, and they are NOW ON SALE!  The bag is ON SALE too!

I’m still giddy over the shorts.

First of all, they have an elastic waist.

YES, PLEASE.

And always a top priority of mine, they are very flattering.  They hang nicely, and I’m a big fan of the relaxed fit.  For size reference, I’m wearing a small.  I would suggest sizing down if between sizes.  When laundering these shorts, I wash them as normal, and then I hang to dry.

FAVORITE AMAZON PURCHASES

July’s Amazon Haul was quite possibly my very favorite one I’ve ever done!  Y’all loved it too, but some favorites definitely emerged based on both clicks and feedback I received.

5. Everybody is freaking over these 2 pack tees and can’t believe how well made and inexpensive they are!  I got the black and leopard combo and the hot pink and blue striped combo.

4. It seems that everybody loves a great popover.  I like to double cuff the sleeves and pop the collar.

3. I ordered these patent sandals just because y’all told me to, and dang they’re good.  So pretty and so many colors!  I sized up a 1/2 in these.

2.  I’m so happy that all of you are just as obsessed with these strappy sandals as I am.  I have them in both cognac and gold.  Sooooooo comfy and totally cute.  I suggest sizing up a 1/2 in these as well.

1. If you follow me on instagram stories, then you saw several of the reader comments I shared yesterday about this dress.  Sooooo many of you bought it, and nobody can believe how soft it is!  Everybody is saying it’s so well made and one reader even described it as  “boutique quality” and I agree!

STYLING A DENIM JACKET IN THE SUMMER

Did y’all see Monday’s post where I gave some suggestions for styling a denim jacket in the summer?  Well, I’ve received lots of questions this week about the dress and the pants that I featured on the post.

Let’s start with the dress. I got lots of “Is it see thru?” questions, and the answer is not at all!  It’s lined almost down to the ruffle, which is great!  I also received many questions on if it would be too short or too long on people.  I’m almost 5’4″, and although I showed it with flat sandals on the original post, the length is actually better on me if I’m wearing wedges.  For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

The top of the bodice is smocked and adorable.  And even though it’s super cute, I’m just more comfortable wearing a jacket over it.

All of the questions about the pants revolved around where they should hit.  At 5’4″, I think these are actually hitting just a tad bit lower down than I would prefer them.  In a perfect world, they would show a tiny bit more ankle, but I loved them so much I overlooked it.

CASUAL OUTFITS

Y’all know I love a graphic tee, and I thought this Beach Boys one was so much fun!  It’s super soft and fits great.  I’m wearing a medium.

I’ve shown this blouse before, but I’m showing it here with some jeans that are similar to the Vigoss ones I’ve been wearing that are sold out (but that everybody wants).  I do like the Vigoss jeans better, but these kick flare jeans have a similar feel.  Similar wash, some distressing, an ankle length, and a bit of a wider leg.  They are a good option for those of y’all that were sad you missed out on the Vigoss.

STILL LOVING MY MASKS

So, I’ve ordered TONS of masks, and these are still my favorite. This mask comes in several colors/patterns, but my favorites are the camo, the engineered stripe, and the leopard.  If I had to choose just 1, I would choose the engineered stripe because it seems to go with any outfit.

These masks have nose-to-chin coverage and are machine washable for reusable convenience. After wearing several different masks for the last almost 4 months now, I know I really need my masks to have a metal nose piece that helps to keep the mask in place, and these have the metal nose piece! (I’m told the nose piece also helps glasses not to fog up, for those of you that wear glasses.) This one stays put and I never have to readjust it. And they’re cute! It seems that masks are going to be a necessary part of the foreseeable future, and I’m so happy to have these.

When wearing them, some don’t like that they protrude out a bit under the nose, but I actually REALLLLLLLY appreciate the little bit of extra breathing room!

SOME PJs and a TEE

I bought these pajamas because I’ve been seeing the tie dye pajamas everywhere and wanted to jump on the train!  I love the fit, and I love the style, but I’m just not sure about the material.  (I’m not even sure what the material is because it’s not detailed on the listing.)  For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

These are the “A-sky blue”.

After introducing Carter to Ferris Bueller’s Day off a couple of weeks ago, I knew I had to grab this tee when I saw it.  Carter got a real kick out of it!  For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

THE ANNIVERSARY SALE IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER

Now don’t forget, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts next week!  Icons can start shopping Tuesday morning and Ambassadors can start shopping Friday morning.

On Monday, my post will be a couple of collages highlighting two different categories.  They will definitely help you prepare for the sale.

1. Collage #1:  ITEMS I ALREADY OWN AND LOVE!  Some items that I already own are in this year’s sale!  Like my Sorel boots that I became obsessed with last year.  I’m SO EXCITED these are included. I wore them everywhere on my girl’s trip to Boston. Some other items in this collage were sent to me by brands, and I’ve already fallen in love with them.  Like this super soft wrap top and these perfect dark wash ankle jeans that are UNDER $45!
2. Collage #2:  WHAT’S IN MY CART.  This collage will highlight the handful of items that I’m ordering immediately.  Some of them are items that I think will go out of stock very quickly, so I want to make sure I don’t miss them.  I’m looking at you Veja sneakers (if they’re good enough for Meghan Markle and Reese Witherspoon, they are good enough for us). Haha!  I’m also really excited about this neutral color faux suede moto jacket.  You’ll have to wait until Monday to see the other items I’m most excited about.  There are some booties, some sweaters, some beauty items, and a couple other things.

On Tuesday morning when the blog goes live, I will have some styled outfit pictures for you!  Some brands sent me some really great items early, and I’m super excited to share those with you. I would of course love it and appreciate it so much if you would swing by the blog on Tuesday morning to see my outfit pics. I know you will already have your Wish Lists loaded, but I would still love for you to see styled outfits from me before you make your final decisions.

Throughout the sale, you will also see outfit collages that I’ve created like the one below.  My hope is that these outfit collages will not only highlight single items, but they will also show you easy styling ideas!
