I don’t know about you ladies, but I am starting to dress each day with more courage.
I realize it sounds silly to say that I am “dressing with courage”, but it is totally true.
I am really starting to branch away from the same old, same old……and I’m becoming more bold in my fashion choices! It’s as if Pinterest has become my own personal stylist and has given me permission to step out of my comfort zone!
Before Pinterest, I would have never dreamed at wearing black and brown together, but not anymore!
Before Pinterest, I never would have put this tank that screams “SUMMER”, but not anymore!
The list goes on an on.
Pinterest has given me the courage to do things like this now!
If something looks good in a picture I’ve pinned, I think “WHY THE HECK NOT?”,
and I decide to give the outfit a whirl myself.
It’s truly like I feel that if it doesn’t work, I will just blame it on Pinterest.
Celebrities can blame their stylists for being put on a “worst dressed” list.
I will just blame my stupid computer if my outfit doesn’t work.
I am totally not above deflecting blame.
Grey striped cardigan: GAP
(they are out of it in grey right now, but they still have it in navy)
Coral and grey tank: Target
Skinny Jeans: Swanky Boutique
Brown boots: Ross
Orange teardrop necklace: Sam Moon
This isn’t one of my favorite outfits that I’ve put together, but I like it okay, and I of course like that it stretched my wardrobe! (I got that tank on sale at Target this summer for like $5, so I love that I’m now wearing it still in October!) ‘And once again, I never would have put this outfit together on my own.
So….let’s do a little True/False quiz here:
1) Pinterest has given me more courage to dress each morning.
TRUE.
2) If I copy an outfit from Pinterest, I always look awesome.
FALSE.
.
I like being more bold in my dressing and all…..but sometimes it doesn’t work out….
And just in case you need some proof:
Here is a post that I never published.
It was called “TGIM”.
THANK GOODNESS IT’S MONDAY!
Yeah, right.
You know what else nobody ever says?
“I like your green skirt, white tank, black cardigan, and brown belt together. You look great!”
Oh well.
First of all, I need to tell you that my skirt is actually a very bright kelly green….not the blue it looks like in the pic.
Still, it was a loose interpretation of the inspiration photo (skirt instead of jeans, cardigan instead of blazer), and I’m afraid it just didn’t come together.
White tank: White House, Black Market
Cardigan: LOFT
Belt: LOFT
Necklace: Francesca’s
Green skirt: J Crew Outlet
Necklace and Earrings: Francesca’s
Now is when you are supposed to give me the “you can’t win ’em all” speech.

Okay…enough about my new-found courage…..now on to the Nomination!
I got news over the weekend that an old friend decided to recognize Pinterest Told Me To with a Liebster Award.
(Just click on any of the individual pictures to take you to a specific post.)
Sara Gae’s questions for me:
And….here is my nomination:
Sarah at www.tuckerup.blogspot.com
I have never met Sarah, but after she found my blog and left several comments,
I have started reading her blog.
SO funny how the blog world works like that.
This is what Sarah has to say about herself.
I love my friends and family and food, you will see. I love fashion and most reality shows on TV. I love decorating and sports and the Rangers, a lot. I love cold weather, but in Texas it’s hot. I enjoy blogging and reading as much as I can. Wrigley and Bailey are the kiddos and Chris is my man. From graduate school to housewife, while working all week, usually what I need is a whole lot of sleep. So grab a chair and your coffee cup, and come along for the ride on the blog Tucker Up!
I have so enjoyed reading Sarah’s blog and we seem to be becoming friends! I mean, last week after one of her posts I realized that we own the same suede BCBG pumps that we both purchased from the same low-rent Ross at 75 and 380. It’s as if we were separated at birth.
Check out her DIY headboard with nail head trim here and her Sunburst mirror here. Not to mention, Wednesday is dedicated to “What I Wore Wednesday” (ex. here), which is right up my alley!
She lives super close to me, so I’m guessing that we will be scheduling a lunch and shopping date at Watters Creek any day now!)
2) What’s your favorite non-reality t.v. show?
8) If you were given $1,000 and had to give it away, who would you give it to?
9) Do you have a favorite piece of clothing? If so, what is it?
10) How many of your high school friends do you still consider your best friends?
11) What are your hopes for your blog?
Love you and your blog!

Oh Sheaffer! I miss you! I've been reading your posts every day on vacation. You ARE more brave these days with your fashion choices. I love your new boldness for fashion. I also love your questions with Sarah. Miss you! See you Monday!

I am one of those that go about 3 days between hair washes.. BUT, I envy your make up skills for getting it done in 3-6 minutes!! Your 'summery' tank looks great with the fall twist:)
{Hi Sugarplum!} says
wow — you pack so much into a post!!!
1) Yes, I'm def braver with fashion than I ever thought I'd be. Funny thing is, when I wear things 'over the top', I get so many compliments and people usually say 'I wish I could pull that off!' Which of course they can, it's just deciding to throw caution and have fun with clothes!
2) I think your blue cardi outfit is pretty cute. I like it if the skirt really were blue, too. I like wearing the same color in different tones.
3) Love reading more about me, but the main thing that stands out is…you get your husband to eat thai with you!?!?!?!? no way.
4) I've recently gotten to 'know' sara through blogging too…we might need a big ole meet up!
