Hands down. No questions asked. This IS a style staple.
Game Over.
Thanks for playing.
Well,
It would be GREAT on it’s own, with a scarf, or a simple necklace.
It could be paired with jeans, a pencil skirt, suit pants, colored jeans, whatever.
It would be FABULOUS layered under a cardigan or blazer.
Your closet needs this shirt.
YOU need this shirt
Now I will have a white shirt for all of those Pinterest outfits!
For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
It also comes in grey!
And correct me if I’m wrong, but I NEVER would have given the white shirt a second look online.
Thanks heavens I found it in the store and put it in on because I never would have dreamed of ordering it otherwise.
And listen, I don’t have a crystal ball, and Nordstrom won’t tell me how many they have in stock, but I’m thinking that this is one of those items that could sell out quickly.
Just sayin’.
(I too am wearing a small, and you can see how the shirt is quite a bit longer on me. And you can kind of see on the side view of me in the first collage how the shirt totally covers my bottom.)
And just in case you think you don’t need a white oxford,
I would like to respectfully beg to differ.
Please see below collage.
(The only picture I could find the original source for was the lady with short blond hair and the leopard belt HERE.)
Nope. You can’t argue with the collage.
All of the women in the above collage look SO put together and SO chic!
And there outfits are insanely simple!
The white oxford is a power house that adds a classic touch to pretty much any outfit you put it with!
Again, click HERE for the shirt.

Now, in addition to the new FALL STYLE STAPLE,
I have some other pressing matters to talk about.
First on the agenda: Remember the striped tunic I featured on my leggings post on Monday?
Well, the black and white isn’t available,
but the Portebella/Brown colorway is available HERE.
I absolutely loved it with black leggings and my wedge cognac boots!
Just look at the bottom of the tunic and how it lays! LOVE!!!!!
Click HERE for the top in the Portella/Brown colorway.
For size reference, I am wearing the x-small/small in the picture.
(Sorry, but purse isn’t in stock.)
Yes. I LOVE this tunic.
And if you need a great pair of leggings, then check out my post HERE for lots of great options!
****************************
And while were talking about leggings….
I featured THIS cable knit sweater in my leggings post on Monday, and I wanted to show it styled a different way. Because I am TOTALLY 100% PRIME TIME in love with this sweater.
(Let’s all just take a minute to remember Top Gun.)
I explained this on Monday, but the only size they had of this sweater in the store was a large. I tried it on, thinking it would swallow me, but it totally didn’t.
In my leggings post (see HERE), I had it styled with black leggings, a denim shirt, and a scarf.
But I LOVE it with this silky shirt, my skinny jeans, and my tall boots.
IT’S JUST SO DANG COZY!
When you click and see it on the model, you will see that if you are taller, it will be quite a big shorter on you. But you see how the large TOTALLY covers my hiney.
I think I might order the medium just to see (I’m 5’4″) if it would still be long enough.
LOVING the shirt too. A lot. And it’s 40% off right now!
**************************************
Okay….let’s talk about a FANTASTIC basic sweater.
Click HERE for the camel colored v-neck (comes in several other colors too!)
Don’t you LOVE it with the skinny jeans and boots?
It’s perfection really.
Click HERE for the long open front cardigan,
which you might also recognize from my leggings post.
Now, don’t forget about the new FALL STYLE STAPLE (HERE).

Ahhhh! Thank you! You know the best part about my birthday? I'm still younger than you.
You knew that was coming.
You totally set yourself up for it.
You were basically begging for it.
And it's the truth.
Just sayin'.
Love you friend!!!! I'll miss you this weekend!

Love the Top Gun reference. Here's another one– Shaeffer, you can be my (shopping) wingman anytime! (BTW, I used to be an Air Force pilot, and wingman is not sexist. Wingwoman would just be too weird!)

A great white shirt is a must!!! Love the style staple white shirt you featured today!
The red coat from Loft is perfection!!!
Have a great weekend!

I am so excited you posted my picture and comment! I feel famous! 🙂 Going to order the must-have shirt and scarf today. Thanks again for your fashion advice and always entertaining blog!

You are 100% correct (as usual) about the fringe scarf! I bought mine – in the oxblood (burgundy) color – and it is awesome. It truly does style itself! and is soooo soft and cozy. love. it.
Daily Express says
Great selection on the white shirt. I hate when button downs gape at the bust or belly button. Also, in your collage, I think the second girl from the left (sunglasses, white shirt, jeans) is Jill gg of Good Life blog.

Love me a white button down! They also layer perfectly, my favorite way is under a gray cashmere sweater with a sparkly necklace under the collar. That one is awesome because you can tuck it to layer or wear it loose over jeans.
Amber B. says
It does look like the perfect white shirt! I love the length, style, well everything about it! Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you have a wonderful weekend~

I am constantly on the hunt for the perfect white shirt! I have a million of them, but they never fit just the way I would like them to. 🙁 This looks perfect! Thank you so much for finding one Sheaffer!

I do love that white shirt!

Ordered my scarf on Wednesday…can't wait for it to arrive!

As a large-busted woman, I feel your pain on gaping button-up shirts! An easy solution I've found is to sew a snap into the blouse where it gapes, like this – http://blog.megannielsen.com/2012/08/quick-fix-gaping-blouse/. Voila! Problem solved. And if you're not adept with a needle & thread, a good seamstress or tailor will do it for a just a few dollars.
Whitney from Washington says
Thank you, thank you, thank you for featuring this shirt!! I too am blessed with "a little too much personality" and finding the perfect white shirt is a CONSTANT struggle. I can't wait to check this out!
mel @ the larson lingo says
I do like that shirt…and I like that it is LONG. For a tall girl like me, there is nothing more annoying than a shirt that is too short! Digging both the white and the grey!!!! Super cute!
Andrea says
I LOVE this shirt! It would look great under a sweater with a great statement necklace as well! Just ordered the must have leggings yesterday….now the shirt today. My husband may cut our internet! lol 🙂 Have a fabulous weekend!

I was thrilled this morning to see that you added a new fall staple! YAY! I am sold on the white shirt. Sold. And, I'm done contemplating the Toms wedge booties because the herringbone is a-mazing! Sold on those too! 🙂

I love that white shirt! It's so true that tucking in a shirt with buttons is a pain! PS. I'm rocking a gray, black, and brown outfit on my blog today! Thought you'd be proud!

How do you think the white shirt would do in the wash (and, possibly, with no ironing?)
Paige says
This was exactly what I was looking for! I was in Gap tonight and unimpressed with their white button down. Another Nordstrom order it is! Thanks! (my HUE leggings arrived today!)

Love the White Shirt graphic. So funny that you posted a picture of Angie (from the You Look Fab website), when just the other day someone on the forum there used one of *your* graphics to demonstrate the look she wanted! 🙂 I recognized it right away.
Thanks for all the great shopping you do and the finds you share with us — I know it must be torture! 😉

Hi there!
First of all, I absolutely adore your blog. I often laugh out loud while reading it. I have a question about the vigoss jeans. I ordered the boot cut pair and love them. I was thinking about ordering the non distressed skinny jeans and was unsure if I should go up a size or if they would be the same as the boot cut. Thanks for all your help 🙂
Sheaffer says
Hi Jen! Your settings are set to "no reply", so I hope you check back here for your answer!
Would you tell me the item# on the jeans? That will help me answer you better!
xoxo,
Sheaffer 🙂

So true, a white shirt is a must have especially a man's white shirt but I like the black and white striped top even more. Hopped over from WIWW.
Sam says
Aren't Vigoss jeans the best? I have four pair in my closet and am always shopping for new ones.

I'm loving the blog- it's making me take a look at what I've got and I love it when someone tells me what to buy!! I WISH I loved this white shirt- I'm about 5ft 7 or so, medium build, and when I ordered it from Nordstroms, I wasn't sure which size, so I tried both large and medium. First of all, it's on the thin side so whatever waist you wear shows through easily. It's floppy material and just looks sloppy- the collar doesn't look pressed no matter what, but worst of all is the pin tuck stitch between the shoulder blades- with careful putting on and off it just pops! There's no way to fix that- maybe I'm too rough on my clothes, but this one is going back. My two cents, but keep on posting- I'm a huge fan!!!!
