Last week was so heavy, and my heart remains very heavy. I imagine that we are all struggling.
You might have noticed that I only blogged on Tuesday and didn’t post to social media at all after Wednesday. I just wasn’t able to sort my feelings out and get in any sort of head space to write a post about sweaters. Sweaters weren’t important last week. (I mean, of course they’re never really important, but I am getting back to regularly scheduled programming in just a minute.)
We all know that so many terrible things have happened in our world recently. Iryna Zarutska was murdered on a train, Charlie Kirk was assassinated, and yet another school shooting happened in Colorado. And it was just the end of last month when children’s lives were taken at a Catholic school in Minneapolis. Last week was also of course the anniversary of 9/11. ALL of these events are so incredibly tragic, and the fact that any of them happened proves that we live in a very broken world. All of these stories mentioned of course broke my heart, and I’ve prayed over all of them.
I actually wrote much more about my thoughts and feelings during all of this tragedy, but I’ve been wrestling with whether I should publish them or not. Because let’s be honest, it’s a scary time to share thoughts and feelings. I’m going to think about it some more, pray about it some more, and perhaps I’ll post the rest of what I wrote later in the week.
So for now…
Go and love on people. If you love Jesus, share your love boldly. If you don’t know Jesus, open your heart to learning more about Him. It seems that there are more people talking about Jesus now than there were at this time last week, so I’m finding peace in that.

7 SWEATERS UNDER $100
So now we’re going to pivot to something that’s not important, but it sure is fun…
SWEATERS UNDER $100!
I can tell you with great certainty that this raglan sleeve sweater is going to be on constant rotation for me this fall. I LOVE IT. It’s incredibly soft and cozy. It’s a wool/cashmere blend, but it is not itchy AT ALL, so don’t let the wool blend scare you because I don’t do itchy sweaters. I’m wearing this fabulous camel and pink stripe combo, but it also comes in a black and white stripe combo as well as in several solid colors. I like the ribbed collar and sleeves, the banded and ribbed hem, and the exposed seams on the shoulders are a nice touch. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
The price is high, but I personally believe this sweater is worth it. I also like that it’s thin enough that it can easily be worn under a close-fitting jacket. And it’s nice enough to be dress up for the office.
These are the “Rhythm Vintage” jeans and they are currently ON SALE! They’ve got good stretch and are quite soft, so they are super comfy. I love the ankle length and frayed hem, and I think the overall fit is very flattering. For size reference, I’m wearing a 27.

This puff sleeve sweater is classic and beautiful. This one is also a wool/cashmere blend, but it’s also super soft and not itchy. It’s thin, which makes this one great for layering too. As you can see, it’s cute and flattering worn out because of the ribbed hem, but it also works well with a half tuck. I love the versatility of a short sleeve sweater, so I’m happy to add this one to my closet. I love this neutral “tan”, but it comes in six total color options. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
Now let’s talk about these paprika jeans because they are darling. The official color is “paprika”, but they are described as red, and I was kind of hoping for a crimson red (I originally ordered them to possibly wear to the OU game last weekend). In real life, I find them to be more “sienna” than red. Still, although not a great game day jean for me, they are truly a perfect fall color. They are mid-rise with some stretch and a cropped and frayed hem. I seriously love the fit. For size reference, I’m wearing my regular size 4.

LADIES. Look at this fabulous drop earring. You’re going to die when you click the link because Holy Affordable, Batman. The colors are gorgeous for fall, and the design is so cool. It’s a really gorgeous pair of earrings.

Want something unique? I’m completely smitten with this ruffle collar sweater jacket. This cozy soft knit sweater jacket is dressed up with a ruffled chambray collar, brass buttons, and front patch pockets. I’m loving it with denim, but it’s definitely nice enough to pair with a nice pair of pants for the office too. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. (It was full price when I bought it, but it was ON SALE over the weekend. Fingers crossed it still is.)

Okay, this is obviously quite similar to the piece above, and this one is fabulous too. This ruffle collar cardigan is olive green (instead of grey), and the collar is a blue pinstripe (instead of chambray). But the vibe is similar, and I love it. The quality is top notch, and it looks like Loft or J Crew. And people will never believe that it’s under $30! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

This stripe cable cardigan is lovely and sweet. The buttons are pretty little pearls, and even though the sweater boasts wide stripes and a chunky cable design, the sweater is still quite feminine. And I’m loving the blush and wine color combo, but it also comes in a navy and green combo. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

This wavy stripe sweater is called a “top” on the site, but I definitely think of it as a lightweight sweater. In addition to the wavy striped pattern, there’s also scalloped edges on the collar, the sleeves, and the hem. The scalloped detailing definitely dresses up and elevates the sweater. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

This pointelle cardigan is pretty, feminine, and soft as can be. Again, it can of course be worn over a tee, blouse, or cami… but I’m really loving cardigans worn on their own right now. In addition to pink, it also comes in an emerald green and an ivory. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

That’s all for today, y’all. Hope you found a sweater you love. Happy clicking!

Many people felt as you did. I think we need to encourage each other to quiet “the noise” that is around us. Encourage each other to find their peace & not let the media manipulate our emotions with sensationalized headlines & 1/2 truth broadcasts. Like you, I have been & will be praying for our nation.

As my grandfather says, with Jesus on your team, you’ll be undefeated. Keeping him at the front makes all the difference. Sending love to you, your family, and this world that needs a lot of it.

We were on vacation in NY last week. We went to the 9/11 memorial on September 10th since it was closed for a private ceremony on the 11th. There was a singer practicing the National Anthem for the ceremony, flowers and flags placed by so many names of the victims…we were so emotional already, and then our phones lit up with messages that Charlie Kirk had been shot. Such a heavy, heartbreaking day I am still trying to process.
Sheaffer says
Oh goodness, Andrea. That had to be so incredibly sobering to hear the news while at the 9/11 memorial. Lots of love to you. xoxo
Erin says
You should share your thoughts freely. That’s what Charlie did – created the space to do so. Hugs!

Thank you for the support, Erin! xoxo

Please don’t forget the Democratic congresswoman and her husband who were gunned down in June along with their golden retriever. Her children are now orphaned. Four people were shot and two died that day.

Thank you for that reminder, Sara. Prayers of course for Melissa Hortman’s poor family. Totally senseless and heartbreaking.
